    Foreword

It is highly recommended that the first book of Solid Light be read previously, as book 2 starts immediately where the first book ends. The characters and the base plot from the first book are continued into this story as well as the historical nature, descriptions, and the feel of the characters within. Without reading the first book of Solid Light, the reader will be somewhat lost on who they are and how they came to be in Solid Light Book II.

    Chapter 1

    Seeking Revenge

The Evil one sat on his throne of stone in a mood of despair. His mist of black lingered on the floor of his dark hall with dirty gray columns. Little wisps of black mist twirled off his form as he sat with his head between his hands. He had lost all his armies in this galaxy with his vindictive attack against Earth; and his resting place on Entra was empty, cold, and dark. He had met a foe stronger than he as he had known of Catherine from long ago and had seen what she and the Guardians could do. Now he had another adversary that was even mightier and was now the protector of Earth. He had lost Enduro and he had lost Earth, but there was still hope for his evil to grow on the planet Encelitis. The people there still had the knowledge of good and evil but were the last in this galaxy he could feed on. He would have to rebuild his armies in this galaxy, or it would be lost to him forever. This would take time, and he did not want to wait for his revenge. He could see that Encelitis could be lost just as easily as Enduro and Earth, so he had to come up with a plan.

He had conquered many planets in other galaxies that fed his evil energy, and he decided that it would be time to revisit them. If he could get his armies there to reclaim his energy here, there might be a way. They had many ships and many advanced weapons that they could use; he only needed to induce a hate or a greed to bring them here. It would need to be the closest galaxy so that the time for his revenge would be shortened, he thought. His plan was forming and growing in his evil essence as he sat alone on his throne. He could destroy one planet there and have the blame fall on Earth here. It would be an evil plan of deception, causing death and blaming others and was used well in other times.

Ah, I'll get you yet, he said aloud as his voice echoed throughout the empty hall. His thoughts of the millions he could bring here made him drool with anticipation. The advanced weapons they had could surely do the task, and this made him anxious.

He then thought of another plan that would bring his armies to Earth, and it would be easier and not require as much effort. He had two planets in the Andromeda galaxy, Lornda and Mardenal, that thirst for the rare substance of Trithealium, a fuel that was running scarce. They had ran the galaxy dry and destroyed many other planets in the search for it. It was a most powerful liquid that ran their worlds and their spaceships, and if not for the Evil one, they would have destroyed each other for the last supplies. A single molecule of Trithealium mixed with oxygen could power a city for months, and over time, its limited supply was being exhausted. He could plant the seed that Trithealium was in abundance on Earth, and it was theirs for the taking. Their thirst and greed would drive them to Earth, and he would lead his armies this time. He knew there was a source on Triton, a moon of Neptune, and once Earth was overrun, he would tell them where they could find Trithealium.

He had his plan as he lifted his head from his hands with a sinister grin that showed his jagged teeth. The swirling black mist from his form became rapid as he stood up and looked over his empty hall. It was time to start his evil trickery and leave Entra, for he needed to feed to gain strength and detail his plan. He would go to the Andromeda galaxy and rest on his throne on the planet Ternia, and then he would visit his feeding ground of planets and start the beginnings of his revenge. Slowly, his form faded into a black mist that swirled around the throne. It mixed with the mist on the floor of the dark hall and, in a few moments, evaporated out of sight.

The two guards to the throne room on Ternia noticed the black mist appearing on the floor. It grew in thickness and started to swirl and turn around the throne of stone. It slowly crept up and began to take form. The guards could feel the evil presence growing in strength before them. In a moment, the Evil one took his final form with the small wisps of mist twirling off of him. Fetch me General Kalil, he ordered the guards.

At your command, one of them said and immediately left the room.

General Kalil was a brutal man, and the Evil one favored him for it. He loved to destroy cities, leveling them to pieces before sending in his troops to kill those who were left. The men and women under his command feared him as he would torture and kill any who he thought threatened his power. A few moments later, General Kalil and the guard that was sent entered the throne room. At your command, shouted the general as he knelt before the Evil one.

Contact General Zial of Lornda and General Kazer of Mardenal and tell them I have a found a new source of Trithealium for them. Tell them to ready themselves as I will be there to visit in the near future to inspect their troops and weapons, the Evil one commanded.

At your command, General Kalil replied with a sinister grin. Are we going to war soon? the general asked in anticipation."

We have lambs to slaughter, the Evil one replied. The general turned with a smile and basked in the dark mist he walked through as he left the room. He was thinking of the additional power he would have once he got his hands on a new supply of Trithealium.

The Evil one sat back on his throne, satisfied with his plan. It would take time to gather the forces and to travel to Earth's galaxy, but he had all the time in the world. It didn't matter what the cost was going to be, for he only cared about his revenge. He did have a worry deep down, and it concerned the beam of light and the ones who control it, namely Catherine. He knew not to underestimate her; after all, she willfully laid her head upon the chopping block rather than be owned by Evil almost 1,700 years ago and most certainly hadn't changed her heart. In his thinking, this was strength beyond compare, and she should not be taken lightly.

    Chapter 2

    The Taking of Entra

The Guardians were busy playing chess when Catherine entered the room with Michael playing Samuel, Henri playing John, and Charles playing James at their extra-large chess tables. Stay seated, my friends, Catherine said as she went to the first chess table where Michael was at.

I do think Ed has taught Samuel a great deal in this game. He is about to take my queen, Michael announced while staring at the pieces looking for what he could do.

Tell me we have work to do before he beats me, Michael said with a hearty laugh.

Wait a few seconds more. It has been a while since I've been this close to beating him, Samuel replied with a grin.

Catherine waited a few moments for Samuel to make his move while smiling at both. Samuel finally took Michael's queen with a loud aha.

She's all mine, brother, Samuel said while he took Michael's queen from the board.

I'm heartbroken, Michael replied, laughing hard and placing his hands on his heart. After the two settled down from the laugh, Catherine motioned for all of them to gather around her.

We have some work to do my friends, Catherine stated to all. The Evil one has left Entra, and it is barren and scarred. As you know, he had his resting place in this galaxy on Entra. He cannot feed on Enduro or Earth anymore, and he is weak on Encelitis. He has left this galaxy for his resting place on Ternia in the Andromeda galaxy, she added.

Well then, I can see we have an opportunity, John interjected loudly, knowing what might be their work.

Yes, indeed, my friends. We are going to Entra and cleanse the planet, Catherine stated with a smile.

When that is done, we will destroy his great hall of columns, Catherine said with an even greater smile.

Rightly so, exclaimed Charles with a serious look.

Let's get it done, proclaimed James. As I'm losing in my game with Charles, he added with a laugh.

The Guardians turned and looked at each other with smiles. They then bowed to Catherine and left their own ways to readied themselves and announce their prayer of service.

One by one, the Guardians joined Catherine in the ready room. Each had their swords and staffs that they would need. They were in their solid white tunics with silver trim, black pants, and riding boots. Their silver headbands generated a soft glow of white all around. They nodded to each other with their solid-silver eyes reflecting and went to Catherine.

I see we are ready, Catherine stated firmly. Catherine was dressed in her robe of silver with a silver belt. She wore her silver headband that generated a silver glow all around her head as her solid-silver eyes looked upon them. Let us go to the great garden and we will be on our way, she added.

The Guardians and Catherine walked the path of flowers to the garden in silence. When they arrived, Catherine took a few steps away. She stood silent and clasped her hands together and closed her eyes. In a moment, a brilliant light began to form above and below her. It grew in intensity and length, and in a moment more, one could not see Catherine anymore. Suddenly, the light transformed into the solid beam of light, with the specks of silver reflections inside, flowing about here and there. The deep blue envelope sparked and crackled up and down the outside of the beam of light while creating a low hum.

The six Guardians walked into the beam of light together and in a second the beam of light disappeared taking the Guardians with it. They were suddenly sitting in Catherine's ship looking out at a distant wing of this spiral galaxy and in a moment were on their way to Entra. It seemed like moments when they arrived in orbit around Entra. We will be at the entrance to the Evil one's great hall and resting place. Catherine said to them. Rightly so, replied Charles with a smile. A second or two later the Guardians found themselves upon there pure white steeds with silver harnesses inside the beam of light and in front of the great hall of dark columns. The large stone throne sat at the end of the columns which made the place drearier the more one looked at it.

The Guardians all looked around seeing how much the planet had died. It had once thrived, but over a long period of time, the people had lost their knowledge of good.
