Mike Boryla began writing creatively in 2010 and eventually received a vision from the Lord, who told him that He was going to make him ten times more famous as a playwright than he was as a Stanford All American and Pro Bowl quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. Today, he’s seventy-two years old, which is seventeen years over the average lifespan for NFL players of his generation.

The Stanford – Ohio State Rose Bowl
1970
Looking back to all that occurred to me since that eventful day, I am scarcely able to believe in the reality of my adventures. They were truly so wonderful that even now I am bewildered when I think of them.
I had my first vision when I was eleven years old. I was sitting close to the high jump pit at the Stanford football stadium in Palo Alto next to Moose. It was the 1962 USA – USSR Track and Field Dual Meet. Today sports experts call it the greatest track meet of all time. It was a beautiful blue California sky on my eventful day. Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev had just spewed his famous We will bury you
tirade. Only days before the meet, the Soviet experts were secretly whisked to Cuba to oversee the installation of nuclear missiles targeting American cities. I was practicing how to do the twist. Chubby Checkers had just come out with his hit single ‘The Twist.’
I had already been playing quarterback and calling my own plays for three years. I had quarterback in my DNA. I was born to be a quarterback, although Moose, my F5 tornado father was obsessed with his oldest son, me playing basketball. Why? You’re thinking. Well Moose was a former pro basketball player and head coach for the world famous iconic New York Knicks. Moose was his nickname with the Knicks. Since I’ve told my Stanford friends that I’m going to use nicknames, and no real names so they will send me all their funny hijinks stories that happened, ergo I’ll refer to my psychopathic, alcoholic, smartest man in the room no matter what room he is in father as Moose. For Moose how I lived my life was his way or the highway. It was play basketball or get out of Dodge.
I’m very fortunate because my incredibly adventurous life was due to my wonderful mother from Ogallala, Nebraska, who for some unknown, incomprehensible reason decided to marry Moose. I know what you’re thinking. Yea I know what you’re all thinking. You’re thinking, why is this guy who is writing this novella, and not using his real name, happy his mother married a creepy psychopath named Moose.
Well, because of Moose I am 6’ 4 ½" tall, I wear 16 and ½ triple E shoe and my hands are so big I can palm a basketball with one hand. That’s why
