Why?

I would like to share one of my passions with you. My husband (Gary) and I have been in ministry for over thirty years. I have also been a teacher. I enjoy teaching people about God. I tend to be quiet, but God has helped me and pushed me outside my box to do things that are not my normal area of service. I have started to even teach women in our church and lead Bible studies. We have come across so many people in our ministry that do not know the Bible. They do not know where to start. They have received a New Testament Bible or a full Bible, but it seemed like an overwhelming task to know where to begin. People have joined our church that know God and has read the Bible, yet they do not know what scriptures to turn to in times of distress. I began texting scriptures to people and looking up other ones that may help them in their situation. I believe as Christians we need to know God's Word in our hearts. We need His Word on our minds. When we face a tough decision or a challenging time, this is when His words need to resonate in our minds. Through my life of getting to know God and learning His Word, these are the scriptures I turned to in my time of struggle. These are the scriptures I quote at night when I am scared or stressed. These are the scriptures that put healthy habits into my life. These are the scriptures that keep me in the right place to make good decisions. These are the scriptures I shared with my kids as they were learning how to live a God-centered life. These are the scriptures that other Christian leaders have used to share God's Word. These are the scriptures God constantly speaks into my life as I am learning to follow Him and deny my fleshly desires. I am still learning how to memorize scriptures. I am also daily amazed how His scriptures speak to me and come alive. These are the reasons I believe God has been directing me to put together this book, and I am excited to share with you the things God has shown me!

This book is simply a book of fifty-two common verses that are recited from the pulpit and amongst Christians on a regular basis. I have included fifty-two additional scriptures to look up on your own. I have included extra information about the Bible to give you a quick course on how the Bible is set up. It is God's
