    Whisper - Max Sphagetti

    Chapter 1: The New House

As Alex's family pulled up to their new house, the sun started to set. The home was tall and imposing, tucked away on the outskirts of a tiny town and surrounded by a dense forest. As they stepped out of the car and took in the scene in front of them, Alex's heart raced with a mixture of excitement and fear.

The house's aged wooden facade exuded a feeling of history and gave it an old-world charm. The odd calm that pervaded the property was obvious as Alex's family unloaded their stuff. Unknown secrets were whispered through the woods by the wind.

There was a strange quiet within the house. Long shadows were thrown over the dusty floor by sunlight passing through the partially opened curtains. The atmosphere seemed to be retaining the remains of a long-forgotten past.

The upstairs bedroom with a view of the backyard belonged to Alex. A draft passed through the room as they unpacked their luggage, causing the drapes to flutter and giving Alex a chill. They attempted to get rid of the bad feeling that had built in by dismissing it as a mere coincidence.

Alex awoke that evening just as the clock struck twelve to a faint murmur. They initially believed it to be a figment of their mind, but as the muttering became more audible, their curiosity overcame them. Following the unsettling sound that appeared to be coming from the center of the house, they cautiously descended the rickety staircase.

Alex followed the murmurs to a door that was slightly ajar and revealed a dimly lighted space. They pushed the door open reluctantly but helplessly, revealing a dusty study stuffed with antiquarian books and lost treasures. They were drawn further into the room as the whispers became more audible.

A battered journal was open on a wooden desk in a study corner. They reached for it, curiosity and apprehension entwined in Alex's trembling hand. The journal belonged to Emily, a small child who had previously resided in the home. Her writings described feelings of isolation, terror, and a terrible conclusion that left her spirit imprisoned inside the walls.

A chilly breeze passed through the space
