The Rise of Rhea - KSN Johnson
Book One: The Rise of Rhea
In the realm of Greek mythology, where gods and titans reign supreme, a captivating tale unfolds, focusing on the central character Rhea - Cronus' wife and Queen of the Titans. Allow me to immerse you in this ongoing story, where African American names echo through the ancient halls of gods and goddesses.
Deep within the sacred Mount Olympus, Rhea, a resplendent deity with ebony skin and eyes sparkling like the constellations, wields her influence as the queen of the Titans. She has a wisdom beyond her years, a strength matched only by her determination to safeguard her Titan family.
Rhea's first encounter with Cronus, a powerful and ambitious Titan, was marked by sparks of undeniable attraction. Their love blossomed, binding them in a divine union. However, Rhea discovered a dark secret hidden within Cronus' heart - he yearned for ultimate power, including the throne of the mighty Zeus, king of gods.
Determined to protect her children from a father consumed by his own ambitions, Rhea devised a plan. Wily and resourceful, she sought the guidance of Gaea, the mother earth, who provided her with counsel. Gaea instructed Rhea to conceal her newborn children, Zeus, Hera, Hestia, Demeter, Poseidon, and Hades, who had incredible potential.
Rhea's love for her children knew no bounds, and with an unwavering determination, she entrusted her sister Themis, the goddess of divine law, with the care of Zeus. Themis, a pillar of virtuous justice, imparted her benevolent wisdom upon the young Zeus, shaping him into the future king of gods.
For many years, Rhea played a delicate balancing act, pretending to appease Cronus, while secretly protecting her children. She orchestrated a brilliant deception, presenting Cronus with swaddled stones disguised as her newborns, tricking him into believing his reign remained unchallenged.
As time passed, Rhea's love for her children grew stronger, fueling her resolve to overthrow Cronus and restore balance to the divine hierarchy. She turned to the Titan Oceanus, the overseer of the seas, for guidance, seeking his aid in freeing her children from Cronus' grasp.
Together, Rhea and Oceanus devised an audacious plan. Rhea concocted a potion using rare nectars and ambrosia, capable of rendering Cronus powerless. Under the cover of night, Rhea slipped the elixir into Cronus' drink, and as he slept, she stole away her children from their father's clutches.
With her children by her side, Rhea sought refuge in a hidden enclave deep within the rugged mountains. In this sanctuary, Rhea nurtured her children's growth, aiding them in mastering their divine abilities, and instilling within them the virtues of justice, compassion, and strength.
Meanwhile, the imprisoned Cronus' powers waned, and his rule over the Titans weakened. The gods, led by the now-matured Zeus, launched a powerful assault upon Olympus, challenging the tyrannical reign of Cronus and the Titans. In a dramatic battle that shook the heavens, Zeus appeared as the victor, banishing Cronus and his Titan kin to the depths of Tartarus.
With Cronus defeated, Rhea's heart swelled with pride as Zeus ascended the throne, becoming the king of gods. Rhea, forever the pillar of strength and unwavering love, stood by Zeus' side, serving as an advisor and advocate for peace.
As time flowed forth, Rhea's influence endured, shaping the profound relationships between the gods and titans. The bond between Rhea and her children remained unbreakable, and their
