About this ebook

Rolan was sure this would be a simple mission.  A quick space flight to the planet Zalion, pick up the prisoner, and transport her to stand trial.  Normally, he would have passed on such a boring assignment, but his Meratobian blood made him the only person equipped for this mission.  He had fought wars, faced death, and could keep control in the worst of circumstances. But from the moment he met Kiara, he realized nothing had prepared him for the battle of wills, and the uncontrollable desire that she was creating inside his mind.

Kiara had worked hard training to control her abilities. Feeling the emotions and knowing the thoughts of everyone around her had never been easy. Years spent learning to disconnect from the minds of others had kept her sane. Then she met Rolan.  His emotions ran wild, thoughts were never clear, and his desire was something she had never experienced before. She could be lost forever in the insanity of sharing his mind, or give in to the rare pleasure of a Total Transfer?

    Total Transfer - Kasandra Stone

    Chapter Two

Rolan went outside and retrieved his bag from the cruiser.  It had been prepared by the space station but he knew it would contain everything he needed.  When he came back into the room, Kiara had her eyes closed and didn't open them as he passed.

He washed quickly, then soaped his hair and stepped under the running water to rinse it. The heat felt good and he adjusted the temperature to it's hottest setting, letting the nearly burning water run over his head, slowly easing the tension from his body.  He turned the water off after a few minutes, dried, and pulled on a change of clothes from his bag.

When he walked into the bedroom, Kiara was setting in the same position on the bed with her eyes still shut.  Her pale skin was a bright shade of red and beads of sweat stood out on her forehead.

Are you sick? he sat down on the bed next to her and felt her cheek.  Her skin was fiery hot. She smiled and her violet eyes opened.

"No, I'm not sick, but that was the hottest shower I ever didn't get to take."

He smiled at her choice of words.  Sorry.

You don't have to apologize. It felt good to relax for a few minutes.  Her face was just inches away from his and he couldn't help but notice the beads of sweat that had formed on her neck, running in a slow path between her breast.

He heard her breath quicken in reaction to his desire. Her eyes seemed to darken to a deep purple shade.  A stray piece of hair fell across his eyes and she pushed it behind his ear.  Her fingers left a trail of soft heat across his forehead.

Her touch felt comfortably normal.  Everything seemed so enhanced, the smell of her hair, the violet of her eyes, and even the warmth that he felt radiating from her body.  His emotions were more intense than ever, but at the same time, he had a strange, normal feeling, like he had known her for years.

When her lips parted slightly he was surprised to discover that he wanted to kiss her.  No, not just kiss her.  He wanted to make love to her, slowly, passionately.  Gentleness usually wasn't part of his sexual attributes, but it was different with her.  He felt a consuming need to hold her, caress her and bring her to a point of ecstasy that she had never felt before. He started to lean forward to place a soft kiss on her lips.

You do realize that we're feeding off of each other?  Her words were a bare whisper and they caused him to pause.

What do you mean? he asked, his own voice thick with passion and not much louder than hers.  He could feel the warm breath as she spoke, her mouth scarcely an inch away from his own.

You feel desire and your feelings transfer to me.  Then, my body and mind reacts, mixing with my emotions, and that transfers back to you.  We keep passing the feelings and emotions between us and they slightly change, intensify, and create a new sensation that gets transferred once again.  They get mixed up and stronger with each transmission.  If we don't learn to control them they will eventually consume us.  We won’t be able to stop it.

He knew she was right.  Never before had he felt desire hit him so suddenly. It was potent and held a tenderness that he had never experienced.  The tenderness was probably coming from her emotions, he decided.  He leaned away from her, but she moved closer.  Then, as if she had suddenly became aware of what she had done, she sat up straight and moved as far back on the bed as she could.

I do a fairly good job at controlling most emotions, she began.  I can even usually control anger, as long as it's not my own.  She closed her eyes tight.  But this feeling... She paused and he felt a strong surge of lust run through him, then her eyes opened and locked with his.  "That feeling is completely new to me.  You'll have to control it because I can't seem to restrain it at all.  She looked up at him shyly.  It's very pleasurable and I think part of me wants it to continue," she quietly admitted.

Her words sent a new rush of desire pulsing through his veins. One quick movement brought him to his feet.  I'll get it under control, He told her as he placed his fingers on her retention cuff.  A loud beep informed him that the viewer recognized his prints and the cuff was now disengaged.

I'm going to lay down.  He picked up his bag and sat it on the foot of the bed.  The desire wasn't gone but he was doing his best to ignore it.  There was a secondary bag vacuumed tight to the side of his and he unclipped it and laid it down.  The space station packed you a few things.  I'm not sure what's there or if they will fit.

I'm going to take a bath.  Her eyes glared at him. Daring him to tell her she couldn't.

Do what you'd like. I'm going to sleep.  I'll take the floor and you can have the bed.  He did his best to keep his eyes off of her.  When a sharp pain started to radiate through his ankles he knew she was standing up.  He started to help her, then decided not to risk it. Instead, he picked up her bag and laid it next to the bathing tub.  When he walked back into the bedroom, Kiara was still standing in the same spot.  She had pulled the top blanket off and placed it at the foot of the bed, along with a pillow.

    Thanks, they said in unison.

He stepped out of the way to let her pass. It was a few minutes until nine, he discovered as he glanced at the solar timer on his wrist.  Pulling the small computexter from his pocket he typed in the words ''safe for now. Captain Thorp likes torture tactics.  Send him to the nearest lawless planet. and sent the message to Zack.  Then, as an afterthought, but only if he doesn’t have a wife or children."  He couldn’t help but wonder if the last part of the message was from his mind or Kiara’s.  He spread the blanket out on the floor in front of the door and threw down the pillow. He wouldn't have to cuff her as long as he was sleeping directly in front of the only door out, he thought.

As he laid down he could feel a gentle warmth start at his feet and spread up to his neck.  He knew Kiara had stepped into her bath.  A comforting feeling of relaxed pleasure helped him drift off to sleep.

Kiara slid down into the warm water and relaxed, hoping that it would help relieve the aches she felt throughout her body.  Her neck was covered with bruises and she knew they looked unsightly, but her long hair did a good job at covering them. The only time she felt pain was when she tried to turn her head to look over her shoulder.  Her wrists had red circles around each one where the bands had been too tight, but they didn't hurt much.  Her ankles were black with bruises that ran down to her toes and the bands had cut into her skin.  They hurt no matter what she did, but the pain was bearable.

After washing her body and hair she dried herself off and opened the bag Rolan had given her.  There were several changes of clothes inside, including underclothing.  She looked through the bag and found what she was looking for in the very bottom, a sleeper.  It was a couple of sizes too big, but it would have to do.  She slid the garment over her head.  It was made of a green silky fabric and was so long that she would have to hold it up to walk, but at least it covered everything it was supposed to.

She looked through the zippered compartment on the side of the bag and found a toothbrush and a comb.  It took her a few minutes to work the comb through her tangled hair.  She brushed her teeth and then, as quietly as she could, opened the door.  It made a sharp, squeaking sound.  An uncomfortable feeling let her know that Rolan had woke up.

The room was dark.  The only light illuminated from a miniature solar panel on the wall.  Rolan could see the shadow of Kiara's small figure as she walked to the bed.  She's exhausted, he could feel it. He laid perfectly still trying to keep his mind void of thought.  Within minutes he could feel her start to relax.  Her breathing sounded even and he wondered if she would be able to feel his emotions when she slept.

    I hope not, she whispered.

Damn it, he said as he mentally scolded himself for having any thoughts at all. He could hear her gentle laughter.

It's not funny, but her amusement was contagious and he smiled.

It would be a lot easier if you would stop worrying so much about it.  I can't read your mind unless it's a single thought and emotions don't normally transfer unless they are strong. When you relax I can't hear nearly as much and the emotional feelings run a lot weaker. So relax, Rolan, her voice sounded heavy with fatigue.

He decided to take her advice. A cold breeze drifted in under the door and he pulled the blanket up to his neck.  The three days sleep in the shuttle had given him all the rest he needed for a while and sleep eluded him.  It had been a crazy day and now that he had decided to stop guarding his thoughts they seemed to run in a million different directions.

He should contact Zack and let him know about this transfer stuff going on with Kiara, but what could they do now?  He couldn't take her back to holding.  Zack had offered to send Charlie to help but he couldn't bring himself to put Charlie at risk. Charlie was his best friend, like a brother and he wouldn't want anything bad to happen to him.  Anyhow, Charlie was on a personal mission of his own and he was getting closer to finding the woman that he had been hunting for the past two years.  I can't interrupt him when he's so close to finding her, Rolan concluded. This was his problem.  Well, his and Kiara's. They would just have to deal with it and hopefully, a total transfer would never happen between them.

A heaviness was creeping over his body.  Kiara obviously had fallen asleep.  In a few weeks she would be tried for murder.  He had been told to treat her as extremely dangerous, but she didn't seem like the cold blooded killer they had made her out to be.  The information that he had been given said that two officers and a captain had gone to her house on a routine check. Kiara had become angry and had stabbed the captain with a  knife.  He had died two days later from internal injuries.  It just didn't add up.  Why would she, with all her powers, physically stab someone?  She could have made him fall asleep, put his head into the wall, or even made him jump off a cliff if she wanted him dead.

His thoughts were interrupted when Kiara tossed in the bed and he could hear her mumbling.  A sudden feeling of fear gripped him.  Not his feelings, hers.  She must be dreaming.  Were his thoughts making her have bad dreams, he wondered?

Please, Captain, just leave.  Her words were quiet and slightly mumbled.  He didn't want to be the cause of her bad dreams.  The feeling of fear was getting stronger.  What could have happened to make this strong-willed woman feel such intense fright?

Her dream was venturing on the verge of terror, something he wasn't accustomed to feeling. He shifted uncomfortably. Somehow, I need to make her thoughts go in a different direction, he concluded.  He just wasn't sure what to do.

Make him stop, she pleaded in a murmured voice.  Her fear now all-out panic.

"I'll make him stop," he thought, in an effort to calm her.

He could feel the panic start to drift away.  Her breathing slowed and within seconds she was peaceful, relaxed.  He shifted from his stomach to his back and tried to sleep.

How long have I been laying here, he wondered.  He had counted to a hundred several times.  First forward, then backward, to keep his thoughts from causing any more dreams.  He needed sleep, but it simply wasn’t within his reach.  Every time he would get close to dosing off, Kiara would turn or shift and he would feel a jolt of pain in his neck or his ankles.  Doesn't this woman ever feel anything pleasurable, he
