1.1 Understanding the Role of Punctuation
Punctuation plays a crucial role in writing as it helps to structure sentences and convey meaning effectively. It acts as a guide for readers indicating where to pause emphasize certain words or phrases and understand the relationships between different parts of a sentence.
One of the primary functions of punctuation is to provide clarity by marking the boundaries of different elements in a sentence.
