About this ebook
For Howie, the lonely barista, he longed for the dream life.
Husband, house with a white picket fence, 2.5 kids and a dog. Sadly, all he could get were meaningless one night stands leaving him feeling…empty.
Jackson Milsap, the introverted writer, quietly pined for Howie from the corner of the café. Stepping outside of his comfort zone and asking him out on a date sent his social anxiety into overdrive. That was until the day he came to Howie's rescue, forever changing both their lives.

Howie
image-placeholderEvery day as the ten a.m. rush barrels in, he graces us with his presence, and by us I mean me. His usual morning order for which he never falters from is a medium soy no foam latte, at kid’s temp with a butterscotch scone under the name of Jackson. In the afternoon, he switches to iced tea and a BLT on sourdough. I smile, unabashedly bat my eyelashes and watch him walk away, ignoring my advances and acting as though I don’t exist. Like straight up, no eye contact, could give two shits less blatantly ignores me. Story of my life.
I scan his credit card, and hand it back as he mutters a menial thanks before taking his usual spot at the corner table next to the outlet bar. He erects his mobile office, plugs in his laptop, inserts his ear buds and buries his nose in his next big release while waiting for us to deliver his goods. Why do I always want the men who don’t want me?
Outwardly, I sigh and wait on the next customer in line and Lexi prepares their requests as my dream man walks away. I watch her deliver his order; without glancing up he mumbles another half-assed thank you, his focus never wavering. For literal months this has been going on. What gives?
I seem to be one of the few millennials who enjoy interacting with other humans, I crave it really. The cold, lifeless feel of an electronic device versus a warm smile has
