[O] The Being at
the Motor of Time
Aristotle. Prospective Method
Premises. Description
1. Aristotle: The cause, the being, and the element.
2. Prospective method: For an ingoing of the discovery.
3. The premises: Motor, unity, and mobility.
4. Description: An analysis of first philosophy and of science on the time.
1. Aristotle: The cause, the being, and the element. Who is Aristotle? Aristotle is the philosopher, the most subtle. The informative knowledge of his thought is still valid. He transmits today the form of time. He rejoins us since a very strong early period.
Aristotle reads the antiques that precede him. He brings to us a fair nomenclature of the science of the being that in sum is the formal science. He is rigorous and his model of expression is the exposition. The research of the number, at first sight, applies to the individual identity but also to some multiple directions. The instrumentation and the element, are they one or more? If the sphere is one, it is either immobile or mobile. The atoms are geometric and limited. The forms have a logic unity, but they differentiate themselves of the face and of an elementary typology.
The topic of time stems of filiations remounting to the physic of Aristotle. We place at start of a tradition of descriptive books, the treaty of Physic. The references to this treaty are numerous. Its development applies an explicative uprightness at the base of the being and the mobility. A being, locally seized, possesses this motor of mobility. The being-of-the-time is a superb common and universal armor.
Aristotle stays near of the matter and of the local mobility. He rules the questions of physic and takes care of the tasks that follow the physic, the ones of a profound structure. The Being
being absolute, a geometry of the Being encompasses the great unity of the earth, the sea, and the existential objects.
What is the position of his thought on the time? We have the vertical dimension present in mind, of the perception of time. 1) A human time [in self] is a living act in a form, on some changing and mobile parts and 2) a circular time [of heaven] is a periodic universal return.¹
For Aristotle, the time is an ordinal number and a perception of the mobility in terms of anterior and posterior. The human has this perception of time because it lives in a place that becomes. It possesses a habitude of life. Its mind allows it the access to some events of the past and to some projects toward the future.
What is time according to Aristotle? Aristotle gives a definition of time. Far to conclude, the statement begins an explicative enterprise, that is to say the enigma number and mobility. Aristotle tells us, that the time, it’s not the mobility, but something from the mobility.² And why not here, the time is the solar mobile? Because so far, it would miss a thing constituent, that calls itself the number. The time is a first, ordinal, structural, stable, and static number, able to inscribe itself at the perpetuity of a mobile time of the existence.
Time has a primitive mobile, a first motion. There is much more than a definition of time in the physic of Aristotle. Replay of the definition. We thus see that time is the number of motion within the anterior-posterior, and is continuous, because it belongs to a continuum.
³ There are also the definitions of the mobility. Here’s one: The motion is the act of the motor in the mobile.
⁴ The number requires also a special enlarged presentation. Therefore, 1) the physic of time, 2) the enigma of the number, and 3) the passage to the mobility, require an attentive description. It adds also the disjunction 4) local motor and general mobile that constantly relays us, and positions us either in the form, or in the elements. The disjunction 5) in powerfulness to be and in act of its realization requires also its vertical structure.
2. Prospective method. An ingoing of the discovery. What is the title Physical force of time? It’s the great explication of the temporal body. A physical force capable to lift the static human constitution under a spherical immutable being. We reconstruct with Aristotle, the cause and the being of the living
time, on the establishment of a statement. …what is the time: the number of motion within the anterior and the posterior.
⁵ We think his premise is invincible; it is prospective and not yet achieved. It is enigmatic and it becomes informative.
What is the goal of Aristotle: Physical force of time – The human form at the motor of the being?
The goal is the description of a local motor so as the universal of the human form. We have the same prospective goal than Aristotle. We decipher a number-in-self and we decode the object-of-the-letter. The actual status of the Aristotelian sentence is a science of the thing. We specify it with its designation and gain precision.
What is the actual project on the being of time? We think to the formal pre-existence, the existence, the logic pre-determinations, the actual determination, therefore we say it, the living being that is pre-established happens with the time.
What is the object? We describe the physical force of time on its local causes and its universality. The unity and the immobility stem of a status of the Being. This first unity is a human integrated structure. The constitutional postulate of an existing being is taken of the experience. …the beings of the nature, in totality or in part, are moved…
⁶ The mobility is a being of the nature.
What is this postulate drawn of the experience? The induction is to use the fact or some facts of experience to remount to the explainer model. Aristotle declares that the Being comes from an induction in starting of the facts of the daily experience. If we know the unity, we descend within a deduction until the lived facts. What is a unity-of-the-being? It’s the form of each science, the one of the Being.
The question of the unities is major. A beautiful unity is an association between some unities, setting the order, and serving of first proposition. The association among Aristotle describes how a life is the unity of time in its physical unity. Of a source or a cause of action, a total geometry is the determination of a perfect status and is placed at start. A perpetual mobility contains the singular unity.⁷
A beautiful unity is the union of two perceptions, two limits, two bounds, or two beings. It is the association, but since we are a geometric locomotor, we unify some first formal qualities. The total size of earth and its instrumentation is constituted of indivisible elements, of a finite quantity of geometric points or immobile limits and of final terms. Some pre-existing yardsticks, some immanent sizes, a common substantiality, some typologic qualities, a passive material quantity and some actual measures, in us, edify the terrestrial human.
Time is the result and the effect of the association of which terms? The static inertia and the force of a local motion scan the ontological totality. The structure and the existence is the association of time. In Aristotle, this complementary duo serves of unified constitution. There is the motor order and there is the fact of time. The experience of the fact of time is the perception we have of the lived fact. The time is a felt result.
From the general acts until the singular ones, we discover the numeric constitution. The lane of the analysis distinguishes the proper statuses. There are some first individual causes, some first locomotors, some composing elements, and their edifications. The method makes effort to define the locomotion. The first definition is a constituent structure. The elements define the object.
The physical limits are a science of the being. The object of physic takes itself in two directions, the form and the matter. The being of the form pre-exists, we are ourselves some absolute ends of the nature. The existing form exercises a causality of its own, because it is in powerfulness to be and in act of its realization. We feed a body in function of us. The material fact is the passion of an existing life.
The science has an object. The being is from its only experience, but the chief that reasons knows the cause and also the act that reaches this practice. The philosopher knows the specific in the medium of a general knowledge. …the philosophy, has for object the causes and the principles of things.
⁸ The sensation, the experience, the givens of the art and the philosophy are an efficacious sorting. This knowledge is the totality of the beings and not the specific cases.
3. The premises: Motor, unity, and mobility. How a being does determine itself in the medium of time? The two states of the human action are 1) involuntary preexistent-existent and 2) voluntary pre-determinant/determinant. Each event happens with the time and in medium of an efficient form. A determination is a physical lever. The filiations come from a pre-established status of the facts; we establish them in act at the present.
A first substance, corporeal vegetative matter, contains the plastic and formal qualities. The tradition speaks of a simple substance that communicates the voice and the speech, a tangible living, or expanded substance, and an intelligible substance based on the will. These substances have their unity in each human being. A body alchemy composes the existence.
We are some interior objects. The time and the changes produce the formal existence in each one of us. The local form exists at our known or at our unknown, in agreement with a general profundity. This fund predisposes at its turn the totality of existence. The beings have a synergy and possess some unbreakable limits.
How does the number function? A number is an individual unity that responds of an identity. The totality of the integrated numbers exists formally in the time at the unified network of the living. The constitution of the being is a numeric totality. A definitive identity and a perpetual gender, in the fundament of the forms, deploy a living force. A great physical reservoir contains the source, the form, and the element. This finite network of living objects composes the totality of unities structurally established.
How does the mobility function? A mobility is an act produced either in medium of a local living or of a general network. An act, a force, a motion of the form produces some changes in a human integrated form. This form, act into act and part into part, funds the totality of the time and of the possible changes.
What is to measure the time? It’s to distribute it in statuses, in days, and in years of the human existence. What is a part of time? Each living being. How does the physic of time function? The inertia and the mobility alternate the continuous deployment of time. The local object works as vertical geometric lever and the time is a result, a living effect. A perpetual explication in the Aristotelian terms is possible.
The humans are the cause of the totality of time. The time possesses some geometric, perpetual properties. The points are a network, a pivot and some terms that make a universal clock fixed in heaven. The causes are a lever of time. At the motor of time, it is the human who acts the totality of the world.
The rest, first immobile motor and a first motion. The motor of the universal time is each one of the humans.
Motor = human ← O → Pivot = clock
What are the immobile limits of universe? It is the sphere of the fixes and a structural human form. We explain the universe of time with a background of life. The primitive mobility around the instrumental pivot of heaven, at which circulates a mobile object, describes a
