The School for Gifted Teens - Eliza Grey
Chapter 1: The Letter
Evelyn had never received a letter before. Especially not one that was handwritten and sealed with a wax stamp. She stared at the envelope in her hand, tracing the edges of the emblem etched into the wax. It was a shield with a golden eagle soaring over a bed of ivy. The words School for Gifted Teens
were written beneath it in elegant script.
Her hands shook as she tore open the envelope. Inside was a letter on thick, creamy paper. It read:
Dear Miss Evelyn Fisher,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into the School for Gifted Teens. You have been chosen for your exceptional abilities and potential to excel in the magical arts.
Please report to the school on September 1st. You will find enclosed a train ticket and a list of necessary school supplies. The train leaves from Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station promptly at 11:00 am.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our community.
Sincerely, Headmaster Alexander Blackwood
Evelyn read the letter over and over, her heart racing. She had always known there was something different about her. She could make things move with her mind, and sometimes she saw things that others couldn't. But she had never dared to hope that there was a place where she could belong.
As she packed her trunk with the supplies listed in the letter, she felt a mixture of excitement and fear. What would this school be like? Would she fit in? What kind of people would she meet?
But deep down, she knew that this was where she belonged. She was a gifted teen, and this was her chance to embrace her powers and learn how to use them.
The day of her departure arrived, and Evelyn made her way to King's Cross Station. She followed the instructions in the letter and pushed her cart through the barrier between Platforms 9 and 10. She emerged onto Platform 9 3/4 and saw a scarlet steam engine waiting for her. She smiled, feeling a sense of wonder and disbelief that she was really going to a school for magic.
As she boarded the train and found an empty compartment, she noticed that the other students on the train were wearing robes with emblems similar to the one on her letter. They all seemed to know each other, chatting and laughing as they unpacked snacks and games. Evelyn felt a pang of loneliness, realizing that she was starting this journey alone.
But as the train pulled away from the station and the countryside rushed by, Evelyn's excitement grew. She was on her way to a new world, where anything was possible. She closed her eyes and whispered a silent prayer of thanks to whatever force had brought her to this moment.
As the train chugged along, the other students began to drift into her compartment, introducing themselves and asking about her magical abilities. Evelyn was surprised by how friendly they were, and how accepting of her. She had never felt so at ease with a group of people before.
As the train pulled into the station at the School for Gifted Teens, Evelyn felt a sense of awe wash over her. The castle was massive, with towers and turrets reaching towards the sky. The gardens were lush and colorful, and she could hear the distant sound of music and laughter.
This was it. This was her new home.
Evelyn took a deep breath and stepped off the train, ready to begin her new life at the School for Gifted Teens.
Chapter 2: Welcome to the School for Gifted Teens
Evelyn stepped off the train and looked around in amazement. The station was bustling with students, all of them wearing the same emblems on their robes as the ones on her letter. They were chatting and laughing, hugging each other and pointing out the sights.
Evelyn felt a sudden surge of anxiety. What if she didn't fit in? What if she wasn't good enough? What if she was the only one who didn't know what was going on?
But then she saw a figure approaching her, a tall man with a stern expression on his face. He was wearing a long black robe with the emblem of the school on it, and his eyes seemed to bore into her as he walked towards her.
Miss Fisher,
he said in a deep voice. I am Headmaster Blackwood. Welcome to the School for Gifted Teens.
