    About the Book

    One

It is a warm late morn, a hot kind of day. Kelth, the leader of the tribe of Nomads, has gathered with his men. One tribesman motions to their chief, Over here!

There is a crowd gathered around little Hinsee, whom Kelth in his stature makes his way to.

His first in command, Cetchem, a large burley man, steps aside to a relieved-looking father. He makes his way through his fellow Nomads.

By eagle spirit, you find him, Cetchem! Fear takes hold of Kelth as he realizes his son doth not move.

Gently he turns his little one who is face down on some rocks near the water’s edge.

The boy lay on a stream bed nearby the road where they were working.

All look on and see his now pale face, as a strange little bottle is noticed clenched in Hinsee’s right hand.

The stunned look on Kelth’s face as he takes his son to his bosom. Cetchem, his good friend, is drawn into his grief. He cries out as he stands looking on, Let us leave here!

It better, pluck out heart! says Kelth looking up.

Cetchem replies, It no good be here. Snake spirit may still be about.

My son! Who do this, pay with life?

Another tribesman speaks out. Nadar, a lanky man, who is a tracker, Could be tribesman Old Orth?

No! Not be quick judge. Kelth pauses, Perhaps, what one want believe.

    Best bring before council.

You right, Cetchem, I no self. Custom now prevent war.

Misu, another from Kelth’s tribe loses control, Customs! taking up a spear. We kill Orthians now. I want blood river!

Cetchem quickly steps in front of him and takes away his spear, I love Hinsee, too! Shaking his head, Not way, our great spirit! We no under attack; people lambs now.

Kelth looks up from holding his son, May-be not all.

Another Nomad named Pinto speaks out, Hinsee, get in things. We forget?

Kelth takes the bottle from his son’s hand.May be, we see? ‘Cetchem, take bottle, go glassmaker. See where from?’ Handing it over, he continues to speak. After, meet town hall. I go see mayor.

    I find out.

With a bottle in one hand and spear in the other. Cetchem makes his way through the streets of Old Orth.

He is brazen in his efforts, bumping into people without noticing or even pardoning himself. His grief has blinded his sight.

Some Orthians express their concerns in prayer. Others, who see him coming and sense his agitation, stay out of his way.

Hey! Where glassmaker? An intimidated youth who carries a bundle under his arm backs away before giving answer, He is at the edge of the village where the road is being worked on.

Pointing to the horizon, He makes bottles even now. See there? That is his smoke in the sky.

Without delay, Cetchem moves on in military fashion. Then passing another from his tribe who works on another road, he pays him no mind.

The foreman speaks out and questions, You find Hinsee?

    No time talk!

Realizing his emotional state, the other brave looks on and patiently nods.

Marching up the half completed road while using his spear for support, he speaks outloud. Hmmm! Why no see place when work before?

The glassmaker, a well groomed white haired old man with a trimmed white beard to match, is just finishing off a bottle. He sets it cool as Cetchem barges in.

    See bottle before?

My name is William sir, and to whom do I have the pleasure of addressing?

Me Cetchem, no time talk. Chief need right now.

My Chief created time and I’m sure it is by His power you are here.

    What, you say?

Everything is done in the timing of The Great One. For in knowing His pattern, I sense thee to be shaken from thy peace. You are apart from it. This is very dangerous for you!

    I see no danger!

"Hear me out. I perceive thy center of vision unbalanced at present. For you friend, are an enemy unto Thyself and doth not yet know it.

Live a lie and sink down into the dark where seas confuse to keep all shallow not deep. For you can be kept away from the full reality of life when not stilled to hear the truth."

    Where bottle from?

William takes the bottle as if to look it over, but suddenly drops it into a barrel of water, "It isn’t until we see we are drowning that we remember the goodness of The Great One’s Spirit.

How to recognize His love is not always easy at these times. Yet go beyond appearances. As what is false in everything around shall one day be revealed. Have focus to find Him and clarity of mind shall come."

Cetchem, just stands staring for a moment before dropping his spear to the earthen floor in frustration.

William continues, Have you not gone to The One who is sure and true on this matter, having you so uneasy? He has the power to lift us up to where we can breathe the breath of life ya know.

I no believe! Cetchem reaches his arm down deep into the barrel and rather impatiently fishes out the small bottle.

From out of the waters is where we have the freedom to flight within His light!

Now see. You try teach, but chief son dead!

Oh my, I will pray! ‘Great One, have mercy in this situation.’ See, you have more peace already.

Realizing his change in attitude he then questions, What you want?

    Only to help Cetchem.

I need know where bottle from!

Cetchem, if there be no peace, we have nothing. For we will have no place to build The Great One’s fire of life. Don’t you know that when someone’s thoughts are scattered, everyone gets affected?

Word true like chief. Now hear wisdom!

Cetchem extends his hands and William takes hold of them in a gesture of acknowledgement, This bottle you are holding was made at the monastery in the hills of Zantee.

Cetchem examines this thought outloud, Zantee, I know place!

Go in peace, Cetchem. William lifts the spear and hands it back to him, "I am sure you will arrive at where you are going in our Lord’s timing.

Kelth and his men approach Shacha’s old palace which is now the village hall.

After some discussion, Kelth takes a handful of men and enters while carrying the lifeless body of his son.

Upon entry, finding themselves some benches they sit down upon them. They are now in a rather large lobby between two towers, three stories high on either side.

Other people are there to see the mayor, and although there is not much talking, an exchange of glances take place.

The Nomads are called in after a short while and find themselves standing before the town’s mayor. He looks up from some paperwork, Have you finished the roads that leads to the pass already?

    We come, other matter!

Cetchem next enters the room carrying his spear. Kelth raises Hinsee, his small yet lifeless body, before laying him out before the mayor on top of his paperwork.

Presenting the deadly little bottle, Cetchem places it just above Hinsee’s head on the desk as well. You see bottle before?

Oh Great One, have mercy! This boy should be brought to Prince Liam at once.

Kelth speaks through his grief, Son dead Prince Liam bring life?

It is a dreary day, the sky has turned from overcast to dismal and a fine mist now hangs in the air. The Nomads ride on horseback towards their next destination. Their clothes have started to become uncomfortably wet, but there is hope for Hinsee which keeps the bones of Kelth and his men warm.

Coming around the big rock, they now face the fields on their approach to the castle.

Cetchem’s horse draws Hinsee’s body on a supply cart with large wooden wheels. Its long poles are fastened to a harness strapped just behind the saddle from the rear of the horse; it strides between the two poles.

There are twelve men who ride along with Kelth, another forty he left behind at a pass leading to Old Orth which continue to work the road.

Nadar, one of the twelve. It was he who rode into Old Orth for supplies and found the job posting for the roadwork.

When the drought came, there was a shortage of supply which had recently caused a change of policy to Nomad tradition. Isolating like in times before was no longer an option as they were forced into trading deer skin rugs and other odd jobs in exchange for food and wampum.

Upon seeing the size of the castle, he rides up along side of Kelth and lets his thoughts be known, Spirits um serve? Reward great!

I see, not without, but within treasure lie.

    No spirit so great!

Overhearing Nadar on the other side of Kelth, Cetchem butts in, See you two talk other things.

    Kelth looks over, Why?

    You, heart love. Nadar, wampum!

I hear! No wrong store up, have big wigwam!

Ugh, price comfort, pay we afford?

Nadar complains, Kelth, he speak bad!

Kelth’s right hand man answers again in a teasing way, No surprise, bury roadwork wampum . . . Hinsee, see hide, keep um quiet!

Kelth, shakes his head in disbelief. You, hard heart Cetchem?

Him be Nadar make me so!

Cetchem, I have many tears. No want trouble!

    No say, you side Nadar.

You know I side with truth! No love here, no help in hurt.

As one who sought the truth, this is how Kelth came to me on that rather rainy dreary day.

There was one too, who looked to be right and another who looked to get rich. These you’ve already met.

Is it possible these three will really find the path to come to know their own soul?

The other men the Lord will reveal. I just want to make mention that The Great One loves them all the same. Nevertheless, in finding the path that is real, even they can be led to loving Him in return.

    Two

"Lord, how come I feel like I’m losing my mind sometimes in talking with You? When the fact is, knowing You I gain in love. That dragon, will he never give up on trying to taunt me with unbelief?

I thank You, Oh Great One, for the wisdom of meeting peace to peace. For now, My Friend, we are face-to-face. You always hear by the beauty of Your goodness. It gives me cause to rejoice over Your passion. You are far better than all else.

As a costly jewel, You pay all debts to meet every need. The still moments I spend with You. In Your presence is fullness of joy, how precious it is!

Your fire burns from within and the freedom You bring. Only moments with You, are life!" An abrupt knock is heard at the door.

    Who’s there?

Edward, and have I got news for you.

It’s my time with the Lord!

    It’s urgent!

    Very well, come in.

My excited-looking brother pokes his head in the doorway. Upon entering he speaks up, "Our prayers have been heard!

The Nomads are here in the castle! This very moment they seek audience with father."

Isn’t that the tribe who’s been giving us trouble about allowing our priests to enter their lands?

    Yes!

"I wonder what brings out the tribe? My dream last night spoke of only fourteen braves, one of which is a little boy, if I remember correctly. The Great One spoke of no more to me, at least not yet. I will ask for His favor:

‘My Lord! Grant the Nomads great understanding by the Spirit of Your words while they’re here. Give wisdom on how we’re to carry out Your purpose for them. Amen.’"

Another knock is heard at the door.

I bid entrance to a messenger around fifteen years of age. He enters, informing that my father needs my presence at the dais at once.

Edward accompanies me by my side. We walk just behind the youth. Your dream was right . . . there are fourteen!

I turn to him and nod as we cross the courtyard passing the frog pond. Let’s just hope it’s good news. Then entering the great hall, we climb upon the spiral stair.

At the side entrance near the top before the dais, I take in the situation while approaching my father. He talks with two members of the proconsul.

The messenger returns to his place as I make my way up the flight of stairs before the thrones. Edward remains by my side.

Kelth, their chief, is standing with a child in his arms. I noticed him at the doorway before climbing the steps where we stand. Twelve of his men are standing just behind and the boy rests in his arms.

Father, why have you summoned me during my time of prayer?

I’m sorry, Liam. I thought we had something that needed your immediate attention. It has been a long time since you’ve healed anyone, and not deciding about this correctly could bring division amongst the tribes. We needed to find out . . .

". . . You feel the balance of tribal peace rests upon me! Your vision tells me you’ve lost sight of the root of loving The Great One’s vine. Have you got caught up in just the leaves of scripture from the Book of Life again?"

My father and the men from the proconsuls get into a debate on how things are to be worked out, but I have a different strategy in mind.

I sense the Spirit to lead in another direction and I turn to face our guests. While speaking, I begin my descent towards our company.

Kelth, hear me! I have no power to heal anybody within myself.

Meanwhile, King Henry and the proconsul almost start to pray, but instead continue to debate. This time it’s about whether it is wise to let me keep going or not.

After acquiring so much knowledge, how can they be quick to agree? I guess when trying to prove a point they do forget to keep things simple at times. Like while remaining at peace from God’s mercy, love flows to strengthen all by drawing from the root of His nature.

If only they’d bring to remembrance. It’s not what you know, but in whom this situation rests that counts.

I whisper up a prayer, Great One have Your way.

I bring to the tribes’ attention: There is however a God who rules over heaven and earth, whose name is above every other name. Would you like to know that Name?

Kelth interrupts, Heal son. Me believe!

Will You? Stepping down from the last step, I stand facing Kelth.

All eyes are upon me except my brother’s. He prays for order in the midst of chaos. In the background there are those who still debate. I start to speak, What do you want me to tell you? What do you wish to hear that you don’t already know?

I start to walk a slow circle around Kelth and his men while speaking, Listen to your hearts, how they thirst for an answer, as that which you crave is substance and only it can satisfy!

Kelth interrupts again, Truth have substance.

"You are correct! Now speak the truth and let life come forth. Otherwise, hide in the shadows of the dark and be a prisoner to your fears, as mistrust isolates in the face of love.

When we tried to talk with you, Kelth, you and your people were not ready to hear.

Are you ready to stop hiding and listen now?"

Tears suddenly appear and start to roll down the cheeks of Kelth who talks in a somber tone, Change heart, Oh God! Who higher, for son. Me, know not Your way.

Gaining further insight, I address more of the matter, "You do good to cry out, but to satisfy the longings of your soul, you must know the truth of His love first.

He is the giver of life, Savior to all, and the door between worlds!

Little by little you shall come to know His love, then fully learn His name; that you, too, may walk openly in the light of life and know Him who grows within."

I complete my circle and speak to my brother while standing before their chief, "Edward, would you be a good brother and bring a copy of the Book of Life written in Nomad?" He nods his head before going.

I, on the other hand, reach forward and take the child’s cold still hand in Kelth’s arms.

Where doth your faith lay, Kelth?

Our eyes meet and with the exchange of a long pause of contact between us, I sense a place of peace for bonding love.

A respect has now been established for trust inside a meeting of boundaries, as vision joins all together to enter the sharing of a true faith at last . . .

Lifting the child up out of his arms and into my love, I turn to the Lord’s compassion.

Have faith in Him, Kelth. Know Him now as healer. While placing his feet on the ground, I quietly say what has my patient heart to the Lord, Great One, by the power of Your flesh and blood be life!

Their chief is caught by surprise and looks questionably unto me.

Upon seeing where he is and standing in position, Hinsee runs forward and grabs his father’s leg.

Everyone becomes elated except for my father and the two proconsul members who still continue to debate at the throne. Unfortunately, when I look back, Kelth is bowing before me with his men. I am but a man like you. Stand up!

My smiling brother returns and extends a copy of the Book of Life towards Kelth while he rises.

    What book for?

Hear from Him a little each day and you will know of His words that are flesh and blood like us. Come to know the healer of your son in abundance, and there will be much truth for you to talk about.

It lives? I read book alive! Kelth’s eyes meet with mine again, he then continues, Faithful God! He heal. True love in heart. Like brick in castle wall, He build much sight.

Yes, within all I seek, but it is not home for all hearts. For there are those who do not search Him out my fellow truth seeker.

Now see! A head rule heart good idea.

I give answer with a similar countenance, How about the two of them working together, each keeping the other out of trouble by wisdom of sacrifice? I believe here you’ll find much light.

Everybody breaks out in agreeable laughter from inward joy. Kelth takes hold of his son crying joyous tears. I grateful for sacrifice of Great One, I hear His love! He then realizes the valuable gift of his son more fully as they exchange hugs. Taking in the reality of what just happened he looks up at me saying, Truth win heart!

Then you know more than I thought. I smile on at him as Edward invites, You are all welcome to spend the night at the castle as our guests . . . and on the morrow, it would be our pleasure to give you a tour?

Kelth looks to us in gratitude, Good offer, we accept.

Seeing the condition they are in, I address an immediate need, Let me show you where you and your men can get some clothes while yours hang to dry.

My brother then suggests, Perhaps something to eat as well.

    Kelth responds, We hungry!

Good, we’ll have some food and drink brought to your rooms.

Prince Liam, no drink wine. Please, water only.

I answer with delight, I quite understand. I then have a servant show them to some accommodations.

Taking leave, Edward and I retire to my chambers. My father and the noblemen have finally decided to pray.

Now led of the Spirit, we both know we’re to pray for Kelth, along with his men, and settle our hearts as well.

Joining hands, my brother and I close eyes on each other and open them to the Christ. Once fully absorbed in the atmosphere of His friendship, we’re saturated with wisdom from beyond.

We find place to where our words of flesh next meet with the joy of The Spirit upon our lips. Having sensed our Lord’s presence, we converse with Him from the deep. Led of the Ghost, I yield to Edward. He begins to pray while I wait, "Oh, Great One! Lives hang in the balance, souls that we are powerless over.

Hear us. Lead Kelth to remain on your path of light that all might discover more of who You are. Fill them with Your words of truth and life.

Help us to show them Your peace that all may enter the joy of Your company and delight in Your wisdom of deep joy. Let Your love itself humble them. Help us to be ourselves on the morrow to remain Grateful and be an example of Your grace.

Open the door between heaven and earth that love be perfected in balance so truth will find all. I know the men need eternal light. Teach, guiding them to receive Thy sight and inside the truth of who Thou are, we shall know Thee through Your accomplished sacrifice even more.

Now, keep us sensitive as scales in the market place that all shall be sure to receive a full measure of the value of Your price. Here I rest. For You have quenched my thirst. Amen."

It is I who next deeply enters into the flow of love until it balances out with truth by grace, "Oh, Heavenly King, I ask of You, ’Give us an opened door from eternity to have Your way with word by sword of truth. Open your Book of Life, swung on one side. Then, Your sacrifice, known from the edge of its glory, will be used with passions to keep me sharp by the authority of Your church on the other.

Break any dark spirits of resistance that would oppose Your Spirit in the high places around the hearts and minds of these men.

Hold Your blade restful and balanced upon our tongues between humanity and the divinity of thy words. Place them in our mouths, being mindful of You as our example that we may speak them with life in your timing.

Keep us from the concepts of man and firmly plant Your everlasting kingdom upon our lips that favor be found in Thy sight. I ask that it be You who will flow out of us on the morrow. Now satisfy our thirsts, for we know that black roots come to an end where all rests at Thy feet in the Sight of Your Sacrifice. "

Edward unexpectedly interrupts, The heart is deceitfully wicked. Who can know it?

No, what is corrupted passes beyond our reach ‘til coming to a rest at the foot of the cross by grace. Oh, how glorious Your light as seen I lack, melting like wax as I stand in awe of Your holy presence. Why, I am powerless in the strength of Thy sight.

My hands breakout in a sweat, feeling like they are being molded into Edwards as one.

Light beholds my eyes as I continue, You are the pure stream that fulfills all desires. Let Your eternal life be known in full brightness in places of our dimness. Advance towards our guests in the quietness of Your love and all shall be revealed to bring about Your divine changes.

Boldly now, in a quiet whisper of Spirit, I let more words from my heart be made Known, "Looking into Your eyes, I’m found to have my passion see through the truth of your love and be moved to compassion. Your meekness transforms my heart as it is You who truly owns all.

Straight way I confess, You alone are worthy!’ What is to be my place Lord during these changing times that can set one a drift so easily?"

Edward suddenly catches the wind, speaking as an oracle of God in response to me, "Be still and you will even now be placed in position as a bright and shining star in the night sky. Gain and find entrance into hearts ‘til joining the minds of these men. For in this very same way, all must be set to order for direction from within. Let them come by way of words from your mouth and I will yield them to My affections. Then just as in the dance of the bee which know their rank, you will know you’ve been given yours. Now as in the timing of ripe fruit by the value of whole life, you will feed when expressing the truth of My love from within yourself, too.

My truth will be tested on approaching the cross together and from this you will grow.

Love is not crumbs, it is fullness. This is what you must offer the Nomads. For even if they reject My words spoken through you on the morrow, there’s to be an understanding that will last, one where they’ll know their spirit has a place in eternity that will always be true within the freedom of My covenant worth."

Edward pauses momentarily and just when I believe he is finished, suddenly catching the wind again, surprising me, he speaks out loud,"Trust My lead and even the slightest subtle differences in root shall be exposed when crooked.

My light of sacrifice has promise for all to follow as it is gratitude that always meets My provision of joy.

For praise comes forth from having met at My cup of passionate suffering as My accomplished drink began upon the cross.

Now within each thought found too black for clarity of mind and sight, I leave you in the Spirit of My might!"

Edward trembles with joy. I have been with the KING!

I know. Now we are ready for what we are to face on the morrow.

    Three

Kelth arrives at the great hall with his men. His son is by his side. A servant closes the doors behind them.

Approaching, they stop by the many steps that lead to the rising at the dais before the thrones. Prince Edward and I raise our heads while holding hands in silent prayer.

All at once, Kelth’s men drop to the floor. They start to cry out in what appears lunacy, but fear really has ahold of their hearts.

Being brought into the moment and out from the uncertainties of darkness reveals what now overwhelms.

We break from prayer. I leave my brother’s side, making what appears to be a mysterious entrance to our guests.

As I approach, Kelth enquires of me, What you do?

I said I would show you and your men around our kingdom. Shall we start by introducing them to what troubles each of their souls? Understand, by revealing what it means to be filled with truth, this shall spark life to replace what is causing them to suffer. For when pain is turned towards wisdom, vision brings all to our Lord’s light. Healing will flow as a mighty river allowing knowledge of love to rule in place of strife.

Kelth shows concern, Is safe? Braves family, let live, not die!

"A sword of steal cuts away flesh. However, the sword of truth peels back what hides in the dark to expose pain for healing. Then as an indicator, it becomes our friend. Where making the invisible visible, pain allows us to recognize our fears.

The unknown is what kept all trapped without an end in sight. As when empty is our answer before coming to a known God, He grants His plan on how to heal and fill an empty heart.

We, too, first learned to know Him intimately before The Great One touched our lives inside. We sought Him to remain on the path of love, then all other questions subsided as to why. He as Light has changed the roots of what was living in the dark which has brought clarity to embrace His brilliance within our minds.

You and your men need to draw closer to His kingdom just as we. Search ‘til entrance be gained and the Greatest Spirit shall open the door before all of eternity, granting discovery to recognize the root of peace."

Kelth looks upon Prince Liam with a deep gaze in his eyes.

"Becoming witnesses caused our lives to shine with life. This root, which brings the life I speak, it is Himself. He replaces everything restless where disruption once had sway, like winds upon still water revealing time within its waves.

Your men must be drawn closer towards His healing wings for comfort. These will cause them to humbly kneel in making choices ‘til wrestling minds leave fast paced pains no more. You’ll see by hurts replacing what be unknown, new life shall come, releasing you and destruction will no longer have hold. As when life be seen with sight, cautious encouragement guides to find the better plan in purest light."

    Pain drive ‘em mad!

Only when disruptive voices come upon the wind driving us do serpents prevent our interest in having expressions of being a complete person, doth this truly harm us!

"Me believe like braves, same Great Spirit. How I no on floor like men?"

I look straight towards their chief, Your healing, Kelth, will come through watching your men recover their feelings. As coming out from darkness which hides lesser snake spirits, we shall see whom you are truly calling family amongst their shattered pieces which you shall soon identify, too.

Prince Edward then steps towards us, "Be encouraged. For might I remind you, it is The Great One who shall apply His hugs of inner love where pain has stated its position. As it is He who raised Hinsee to life.

From this time forth, know that we will be teaching you from our own experiences with The Great One. As we, too, were once bound from seeing only through a reality that was continually broken in shadowy shallows ‘til finding ourselves through the wisdom
