Holy Promises - Ary S. Jr.

    Holy Promises

    Interior Renovation

    Introduction

God's promises are an essential part of the message conveyed through the Holy Bible. Since the beginning of time, the Creator has revealed His loving and faithful character through unwavering commitments to His people. Throughout the Scriptures, we find a wide range of promises covering topics such as salvation, protection, provision, healing, guidance and comfort.

Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, the Bible reports the promise of a Savior who would come to rescue humanity from sin and separation from God. That promise, known as the Messianic promise, is at the heart of the Scriptures and is fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world to give his life a ransom for many.

God's promises are also portrayed through the covenants established with His people throughout history. The alliance with Noah, for example, guaranteed the preservation of life on Earth after the flood. The covenant with Abraham ensured that his offspring would become a great nation and that all the families of the earth would be blessed through him.

The Mosaic Covenant, given to the people of Israel through Moses, included promises of blessings for obedience and consequences for disobedience. Despite the people's failures to fulfill their part, God's faithfulness in keeping His promises remained unwavering.

Another notable aspect of God's promises is His constant presence and care for His people. Throughout the Scriptures, we find encouraging words that remind us that God is always with us and will never forsake us. He promises to be our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Even in the midst of life's adversities and uncertainties, we can trust his promise to guide us and lead us on his path.

Furthermore, God's promises include His abundant grace and merciful forgiveness. The Bible assures us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. His grace is sufficient to supply all our needs and give us strength in our weakness.

Another remarkable promise of God is that nothing can separate us from His love. His love is unconditional and eternal, and He promises to love us forever. Even if we face tribulations, persecutions or any other circumstances, we can be sure that nothing can separate us from his love.

God's promises are based on His unchanging character. He is faithful and fulfills his words in all times and generations. Even when mankind fails to keep his promises, God remains true and fulfills all his promises.

God's promises are a manifestation of His love and faithfulness to us. They bring us hope, comfort and security in all circumstances of life. We can fully trust that He will fulfill all of His promises and guide us in His love and grace.

    "God promises to be

    with us always"

    (Matthew 28:20)

Throughout the sacred pages of the Bible, we find countless promises from God to His people. Among them, one of the most comforting is the promise that He will be with us always. In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 28, verse 20, we find these words of hope spoken by the very Son of God, Jesus Christ:

Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, until the end of time.

In these few words, we find a promise that transcends time and comforts the hearts of all who seek the divine presence and protection in their lives.

God's promise to be with us at all times is a reminder of His unconditional love and eternal faithfulness to mankind. Regardless of the difficulties, trials or joys we face along our earthly journey, we can trust that God is by our side. He is our refuge, strength and comfort in the midst of life's storms.

Biblical history is full of examples of how God has fulfilled this promise over the centuries. From the patriarchs to the prophets, everyone has experienced God's presence in their lives. Through the scriptures, we learn that his presence is a source of strength to overcome obstacles, wisdom to make wise decisions, and comfort to face moments of pain and sadness.

Furthermore, God's promise to be with us is not just a passing presence, but an eternal promise. He does not abandon us, even when we fail or turn away from Him. His love is unchanging and his purpose is to restore us and lead us back to his path.

It is important to remember that this promise does not mean that we will be exempt from challenges or adversity. Life is full of ups and downs, but God's presence enables us to face them with courage and hope. We can cast our cares on Him, knowing that He cares for us.

By making this promise, Jesus reminds us of our obligations as His disciples. We should follow his teachings and share his love with everyone around us. We are called to be witnesses of His grace and mercy, spreading the light of His love wherever we are.

In God's promise to be with us always, we can find peace and security amidst life's uncertainties. This promise serves as a constant reminder that we are never alone because we have a Father who guides, protects, and sustains us always.

    "Give us rest when

    we are weary"

    (Matthew 11:28)

The Holy Bible is an inexhaustible source of hope and comfort for all those who face challenges and struggles throughout life. In Matthew 11:28, we find a comforting promise made by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that touches the core of our weary souls:

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

In these words, Jesus invites us to come to Him with all our worries, exhaustions and weights that we carry. He is the Prince of Peace and our refuge amid the storms of life. When we are tired physically, emotionally, or spiritually, we can find rest and relief as we entrust ourselves to Jesus' loving care.

Life often imposes a heavy burden on us: responsibilities, pressures, uncertainties and challenges that can lead to burnout. However, when we turn to Jesus, we find a rest that goes beyond the physical, reaching the depths of our soul. He understands our struggles and is the only one who can truly renew our strength.

The rest Jesus offers is not just temporary relief, but lasting peace that fills the void in our hearts. In him, we find refuge and hope, regardless of external circumstances. His presence sustains and strengthens us to face daily challenges with courage and faith.

Furthermore, this promise of rest is not restricted to a few people, but is extended to all who desire to find relief in Christ. No matter our condition, history or past sins, He welcomes us with open arms, ready to give us rest and transform our lives.

It is essential to remember that the rest offered by Jesus is not an exemption from all difficulties, but a peace that we find in the midst of them. He gives us strength to bear and overcome the burdens of life. By submitting ourselves to his care, we learn to trust that his grace is sufficient to sustain us at all times.

We can find several examples of biblical characters who experienced God's rest and relief in their journeys. From ancient Israel to Jesus' disciples, all have been blessed by His redeeming love and restoring rest.

Psalm 23 is a passage that illustrates this divine promise of rest: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Thus, we gain inner peace by drawing close to Jesus and accepting His offer of rest. Our troubles are eased, our worries are lifted, and our hearts are filled with hope. There is our refuge, and there we find rest for our weary souls.

    "The righteous will

    never be shaken"

    (Psalm 55:22)

The book of Psalms is a poetic and inspiring collection of praises, supplications and reflections that express the relationship between human beings and God. In Psalm 55, verse 22, we find a comforting and powerful promise for the righteous:

Commit your way to the LORD, trust in him, and he will do more. He will show forth your righteousness like the light, your justice like the midday sun. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him (Psalm 37:5-7a).

These words remind us that as we entrust our lives and our ways to the Lord, He will keep and sustain us. The promise that the righteous will never be shaken reveals God's faithfulness and care for those who seek to live in righteousness and integrity before Him.

The righteous are those who seek to live according to God's will, who are committed to obeying His commandments and living a life of faith and devotion. The promise that they will not be shaken does not mean that they will never face challenges or adversity, but that, even in the midst of tribulations, God will sustain them and give them strength to continue.

Committing the way to the Lord implies trusting fully in His sovereignty and wisdom, recognizing that He has the best plan for each one of us. This surrender requires faith and humility, for it means relinquishing our control and submitting to God's will.

The promise that the righteous will not be shaken is also related to the security and protection we find in God. When we face tough times, we can feel like trees shaken by the strong winds of adversity. However, when our roots are firmly planted in God, He sustains us and keeps us steadfast, even in the midst of storms.

This concept is likened to justice being displayed like light and right like the sun at noonday. The righteousness of the righteous, his integrity and uprightness, shine like a light, standing out amidst the darkness that so often surrounds the world. Trust in God is like the sun at noon, a light that guides us and gives us security even in the darkest hours of life.

However, the promise that the righteous will not be shaken should not be confused with a life free of challenge or hardship. The Bible is clear in stating that in this world we will have afflictions, but it encourages us not to lose faith, for Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33).

Leaving trust in the Lord and waiting patiently is necessary. That trust manifests itself in our daily pursuit of a life He likes and our dependence on Him to guide us in every step we take.

In the words of Psalm 121, I lift up my eyes to the mountains; where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1-2).

A demonstration of God's love and care for His children is the promise that the righteous will never be shaken. When we trust in his plan, pursue righteous living, and rest in his presence, he sustains and strengthens us in all circumstances.
