About this ebook
Miles Treegum’s story of Tanglebrook and its inhabitants is a children’s story for adults. An unusual tale told as a series of very short stories, it pulls the reader into a faraway world that feels strangely familiar.

THE BIRTH OF
THE VERY FIRST GHOST
Simon was a puddle jumper. His tiny legs leapt vast expanses, leaving everybody breathless. Everyone but Simon. He’d been doing it for years. He was building up a tolerance to gravity. Simon bolted from his secret hiding place with his sheaf of paper stretched out in front of him. He tore across Tangle-brook like a thought. And there was Vivian, in the middle of Grady Park. She’d been twirling for hours. Simon didn’t stop to explain. He began to read her his story. It was called THE BIRTH OF THE VERY FIRST GHOST,

It shimmered and sang. He soon discovered that he could speak to the cave and that it would speak back. The cave had a lovely demeanor. The cave reminded Adam of the mother he left back home.
