    Introduction

It often seems impossible to overcome the circumstances that life presents. Wanting to create change within ourselves is a genuine paradox of sorts as the reality is—we are not in control. But what we CAN do is seek God and His solace through these troubled times and perplexing situations that we simply for the life of us, can’t figure out.

Needless to say—this book was written in times of adversity, struggle, pain and sadness in an effort to show there is a solution in one simple, yet dynamically complex word—God.

So in taking the talent for which He blessed me with in the form of language and rhyme and expressing my innermost struggles, I present to you my personal journey from the cold of darkness to the warmth of light, discovering that all hope is and always will be found in God.

    January First

May your day be gilded in silver and gold

As the Lord’s love is with you, always

And though you have troubles that often take hold

He listens and answers when you pray

    January Second

    It’s becoming so clear

That the distance we have here

Isn’t what we want but need

    God took us apart

So we could mend our broken hearts

And find ourselves at peace within He

    January Third

God loves the lover of Him

He reconciles and recounts our affairs

He’s the greatest who makes it undoubtedly the safest

    Environment regardless of where

    January Fourth

So where is this peace that you speak of

I’m not seeing it, you deceived us

Go back from whence you came

But my heart feels weak because

I know the truth isn’t me as such

God has called me through you in His name

    January Fifth

God is the greatest as He never turns away

God is what makes this, the happiest, luckiest day

For you have been blessed, but without the kindness of man

God has provided it all to you, keeping you in His hands

    January Sixth

I feel that my life is on fire

Burning to ashes to the ground

But I know that I can only go higher

When I keep God and Christ as my crowned

    January Seventh

    I beseech and implore

    Asking you to do more

    I emphatically request you adhere

To the ship God has set for

    You to step on board

A peaceful life in Christ is near

    January Eighth

The stars shine so bright in the sky

As we admire their beauty from earth

The infinite for which was created by Divine

    Heaven beyond our universe

    January Ninth

May your heart be filled with the truth

For only God can provide and define it

Never cancel your dreams; just use

The tools for which He has provided

    January Tenth

Never trust a man with no faith

But always trust faith with no man

    January Eleventh

Honest giving is an honest living

And living to give is the honest you’re missing

But missing the giving is honestly sinning

So live to give and be honest, you’re winning

    January Twelfth

    This machine is mechanical

    As thoughts are methodical

With a heart made of wires and ice

    But God made me human

As I know I can do this

    Overcome, my ire, in Christ

    January Thirteenth

All the money in the world cannot buy me salvation

But Christ has set me free

I would never allow any man, woman or nation

    To convince
