This to Me - Dr. A.H. Yurvati
Chapter 1
My adventure continues. I have had some major complications, and I will share those with you. I continued to have severe back pain, instability, and a restriction on my activities of daily living. I reconsulted with neurosurgery, and we determined that I needed a corpectomy (removal of the vertebrae and implant of a stabilizing device) of my third lumbar vertebra.

My second back surgery was extremely difficult; it was a ten-hour surgery. I spent one week in the neuro-ICU. I was incoherent, septic, and fluid overloaded and thought I would not make it. To make matters worse, the Fates hit me in the scrotum; major amounts of fluid cascaded downstream. My cojones looked like water balloons. After six weeks, I was walking without any assistive devices. Everyone thought I look great; then the Fates hit me. I had a sudden decline with my left sacroiliac joint subluxation (moved) trapping my sciatic nerve. Such severe pain is equivalent to my pain in 2010, so I’m back to a roller walker. To make things worse, I developed an acute superficial thrombophlebitis of my right ankle, my dominant leg. Such a mess in two limbs, pain, burning, and swelling. Talk about
