About this ebook

In the picture-perfect town of Willowmill, Texas, nothing much happens. Analise loves her quiet, normal life. Her friends, her house, and her church are all she could ever ask for and more. Little does she know, her life is about to take an abrupt turn to the south. Never in her wildest dreams would Analise imagine how her world was about to change. The path ahead will be fraught with twists, turns, and miles of treacherous rainforest. This path will lead her on a perilous mission to bring the best news ever told to the far reaches of the Amazon Rainforest. The journey will test her courage, strength, and determination. Will Analise have what it takes to be a missionary in the Amazon Rainforest, or will she be stretched too far? Does she have the guts to move forward even when she feels stuck? Only time will tell how far she can go.

    Chapter 1

The wind whipped through my hair as my bike sped along the street. Since sixth grade, I’d been getting up every morning to go on a bike ride. I was always rewarded with the peaceful streets, crisp air, and beautiful sunrise. Today was no exception. There was a soft mist above the small pond that my sister, Leia, and I swam in every summer. The green vines on the trees made the bright blue of the pond even more beautiful. As I parked my bike in the garage of our picturesque yellow house, I couldn’t imagine loving any place as much as I loved the little town of Willowmill, Texas.

I grabbed a slice of toast off the plate my mom had already prepared, along with my thermos of hot chocolate. I was just opening the door to leave when Mom said, Forgetting something, Lise?

She held up my backpack. Smiling, I grabbed my backpack. Mom knew me so well.

Thanks. Love you, I said with a wave.

I was on my way out the door for a second time when Leia stopped me.
