      Even in this modern age of Sentinel Corps, Licensed Heroes and Registered Talents, most people expected to be able to go to the bank without getting interrupted by a teleporting psycho wearing a black mask with gold dollar signs for eyes.

      Today, the people in the barely suburban branch favored by Joshua Hammond hadn’t been so lucky. The masked figure appeared in the middle of the room with a thundercrack.

      It’s your unlucky day, folks! he snapped. Everybody down on the floor or you start losing body parts!

      A security guard rushed past Joshua with a sidearm drawn. Good reflexes, decent training…suicidal reaction. Dollar Signs disappeared as the gun went off, and appeared next to the guard, his hand swinging in a gentle slap at the back of the guard’s head.
