DECEPTION - Caleb Fisher and the Secrets of ReinTech - Unique A Williams

They stood there around the casket saying prayers and mementos. Its been six months since that dreary night with Sophia. He still could not completely understand what was going on with him. Caleb Fisher had gotten word that he had a death in the family. It turned out to be his aunt that he was close with. There was a light sprinkle coming down. The clouds had a tinge of grey in them where the sun was not poking through.

Caleb parked and watched from across the cemetery. He got out of his car pulling his hood up over his head. He pulled it extra low across his eyes and kept his head low as he walked in the direction of the funeral.

His family did not know that he was in town, but that was ok. They would see him momentarily. As Caleb kept walking, glancing over at the people there, something seemed off. He stopped. He was still quite some distance away, but he noticed two of the men were unfamiliar to him. He had not been home to New York in ages, so he would not know who should be there or not, but they just seemed out of place. Everyone was crying, tears dripping down their faces, while being comforted by the person next to them. The two men stood with no emotion.

When one of the guys turned his head, Caleb was able to spot an earwig cord extending around one of his ears. Crap, Caleb said to himself. He almost got caught up not paying attention. Of course, they would be here, knowing this may draw Caleb out of hiding.

Caleb walked hastily back to his vehicle only taking small glances back not to draw too much attention to himself. He made it back to his car. The men were still standing around the other people in attendance at the funeral. Caleb moved his car a little farther away to make sure to remain out of sight of everyone.

Eventually, after everyone said their peace, the casket was lowered. Caleb could see his family starting to pack up and head toward all their respective vehicles. The men left as well. Cal went to the gravesite to see the gravestone. Melissa… loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. It brought tears to Caleb’s eyes as he kneeled touching the plot recalling old memories of when they would spend time together as a family.

Wiping his face, Caleb started to walk back to his car. He felt eyes on him as he walked. He was always paranoid now and suspicious. He didn’t see anyone around. He quickened his pace until he reached the car, getting inside shutting the door to safety. Starting his car and putting the car in drive, Caleb saw someone jump up from behind a set of trees pointing into his direction. They had a gun pointed at him. He then saw another man in his rear-view mirror spring up from behind the car. Caleb gunned it, pedal all the way down, propelling his car forward like a cheetah on the hunt, hitting top speed in a
