    MADISON

Running into the restaurant, I scanned the area and saw a man sitting at the bar. Out of breath from the muggy, humid Bora Bora air, I ran toward him.

Excuse me, I managed to say despite my lack of breath. You need to help me.

The man looked up at me from under his brow. He had dark dangerous eyes and a scruffy beard. His long fingers played with the bottom rim of his glass. I could smell the rum.

Why should I help you? His gruff voice asked.

Please, someone is chasing me and if I don’t hide, I’ll be in real trouble. I looked back in despair. I grabbed the man’s arm. Please.

How do you know I won’t be trouble for you either? The man’s devious eyes shone in the candlelight.

I finally stopped to look the man up and down. He was quite the package. His toned muscles bulged under his tight black shirt. His jeans fit snug. I looked back up into his dark eyes. I think I can handle you. I smirked.

He raised an eyebrow. Is that so? It was his turn to look me over. Tell me, why should I help you?

First turning to look over my shoulder, I looked back at him.

I’ll do anything. I looked him in his dark eyes. Anything.

A smile played on his lips.

Anything? There was the suggestion of danger in his tone.

    I hesitated, biting my lip.

Look, if you don’t want my help…

No, no, please. Anything you want, I promise.

He held my gaze for a long moment. He smirked.

Good. Come with me. Leaving his rum behind, he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the restaurant. We rushed away, but not too fast that we’d arouse suspicion. He pulled me through the hallways to his room. He pulled the key out from his pocket.

    Hurry, I urged.

He didn’t hurry. Instead, he took his time causing me to shift from foot to foot in suspense. Finally, he unlocked the door and pulled me inside. Once he closed the door, he pushed me back up against it, making sure it was closed. I let out an exhale of relief.

You’ll be safe in here, he said, putting the key on the desk. Who’s chasing you anyway?

I looked up at the handsome stranger.

I’m not the one being chased, I said. A smirk crossed my lips.

He narrowed his eyes and rushed up to me. Grabbing my wrists, he pinned them above my head against the door. Who are you? He stared into my eyes where he found his answer. His eyes grew wide. You!

I let out an evil-spirited laugh.

"Elektra. You’re the mole." His hands eased their grip.

Yes, I admitted. Sent to gather information on you, but that’s only because… I pulled one wrist away from his grip and put my hand up to his cheek, touching his beard. Pinching just below his ear, I pulled the beard off. You’re a spy too!

    He winced and touched
