Medieval Times. Territory of Venezuela. Soon the Commander, Professor, Rene and a detachment of local residents go to the Golden City in order to destroy Evil. They decide to take advantage of the sacred labyrinths of Xibalba (the god of the underworld) and attract a heathen priest as a guide. The heathen priest was well versed in the endless mountain tunnels, as he made sacrifices to the sacred snake Chimalcan. Events unfold in the most unexpected way. The sacred snake kills the heathen priest, the native people are frightened and refuse to follow on.
Further, only the commander, Rene, the Professor and his wives continue on their way. They fall into a trap and realize that they will die of thirst and hunger. Rene decides to resort to a last resort: move to the Gray World. The vampires greet him warily, but he shows them Vanessa's necklace.
Vanessa hospitably welcomes the ‘guests’, she remembers the service rendered to her by Rene. A mysterious stranger appears. The stranger hands Hidalgo the sword of Gaborim, with which he must slay the Black Fox. The stranger admits that the Black Fox is not a person, but something that arrived on earth from the infinity of the universe. This creature is a danger to both God and the Devil...

Chapter 11

Medieval Times. Territory of Venezuela

A few days later, Don Ramirez almost recovered from his wounds. The expedition, this time led by a Professor or Po-Fa (as the locals called him and reverently prostrated themselves before the living God), set off towards the Golden City.

Po-Fa sat on a stretcher carried by four burly young local men. The Wives of God also followed the procession.

Rene and Don Ramirez were armed to the teeth. Hidalgo put on his beloved leather belt with throwing knives and trusty sword again. The Spaniards marched gravely beside the Po-Fa litter. Hidalgo glanced out of the corner of his eye at the professor, who was lounging imposingly on a stretcher. He thought about how sometimes life takes unpredictable turns. Now the expedition was led by a professor who had recently traded Lyon fabrics in Spain! It was truly a twist of fate, and what a twist!

Moreover, the Professor addressed Rene and don Ramirez only as: dear friend! What pride and arrogance! But the Commander, who passionately wanted to get to the ancient gold of the local tribes, endured this liberty on the part of the learned man, taking into account the fact that he still owes his life to the newly-appeared God. He was also given confidence in the success of the upcoming enterprise by a detachment of fifty local residents, armed with spears and hunting knives, unquestioningly following their deity.

The procession, led by Po-Fa, reached the mountain where, according to legend, the goddess Chimalcan lived. At the foot of the mountain, not far from the entrance to the underground labyrinth, there was a small temple. A pagan priest came out of the temple, painted with strange signs, in a magnificent headdress made of feathers of marvelous beauty, raised his hands to the sky and shouted something loudly. The local warriors who followed Po-Fa fell on their faces.

Father Nicholas, Rene whispered to the priest, who had been following the deity, the professor, all this time. What he says?

He calls on the Sun God to help him get through the labyrinth… he explained. Pagans… They don't know Jesus Christ here.

Strange, it would be more appropriate to turn to the demon of darkness if they worship him.

The Christian priest nodded.

Wait… here he is saying something again… It seems that now he is calling on the god Xibalba. This god rules over the underworld.

Ah… at least it’s already something, Rene whispered.

Don't blaspheme, hidalgo! Father Nicholas was indignant. Better make a prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ!

Rene decided to follow the priest's advice and crossed himself several times before descending into the world dominated by Xibalba.

The realm of Xibalba looked unwelcoming. The narrow labyrinths went deep into the mountain. Only one person, a local priest, was oriented in this underworld.
