    Hank Strangwish, Chief of the Flashforge Station, stood on the observation deck and watched as the various ships were slowly sliding in to the docking bays. Some of the bays were empty, some were being cleared of recently offloaded freight, and a couple were currently occupied. He could call up any of the bays on the security feeds from his office but he liked to go to this deck when he needed to think or when he was waiting for the Solomon to arrive. Today he was doing both.

    The station was currently playing host to some prissy muckety-mucks from New Sydney Colony and while they didn’t have any official connection to the Directorate or AgriCorp, you never knew who was working for who and he didn’t have the time, staff or compute power to vet every visitor - yet. He looked at their transport and wondered at the timing. He was expecting the changing of the AgriCorp staff any time now, and he knew AgriCorp had been courting the Colonies on Wolf 1061C, one of which was the New Sydney Colony.

    Staying neutral meant he and all of the residents of Flashforge kept things close to the vest and for their assorted visitors they maintained all of the basic protocols and niceties. Hank’s recent treaty with the Tolleray would keep the flow of information unhindered, and added to the security of those he was responsible for on the station. He just had to hope the Directorate and AgriCorp never
