LAST GAME

Francis looked out across the turf. The green grass was recently mowed. Big white paint lines divided the field. He looked to the stands. The stadium was packed with fans just outside of the force field.

He looked at his two teammates. Their attention was downfield. Francis couldn’t tell if they were looking at the soccer ball, their opponents, or the soccer goal.

It wasn’t really a soccer field, though. It just looked like one. And the soccer ball was definitely not regulation. It was maybe fifty times the size of a real soccer ball.
