I thought that this book was alright. It isn't really the type of book that I usually read. It was very short and it took me about an hour to read the entire book. I have read about the Hardy boys last year but this is a different story that they are involved in. I thought that the characters were the normal type of kid detectives that you read about all of the time. It has been done lots of time in books. The Hardy Boys is a pretty old series but this book was not from a long time ago it was a much newer version. I think that people that like the detective books should read this book if they are feeling like they are in the mood for that kind of child detective stuff instead of Sherlock Holmes. This book is about the Hardy Boys who are brothers that are kid detectives. In the town that they live in called Bayport they are pretty famouse. Their father does the same thing that they do but he gets payed and they don't. In this story there is a new kid named Max moves into their town and is in their class. He is a magician that says that he can make anything disapear. Mrs. Briar's dog Charlie has dissapeared and the hardy boys think that Max made him disapear. They put on a show that Max is the star in to try and find out if he was responsible for it. They were wrong and at the end they say sorry to Max and that is what happens at the end.

Class Magician

Nine-year-old Frank Hardy’s substitute teacher for the week, Ms. Yung, came into the room, a big smile on her face, and said, I’ve just come from the principal’s office, students. You’re getting a new classmate! He used to go to the school where I taught last year, so I already know all about him.

Frank leaned over to his friend Callie Shaw and whispered, Whoever it is must be really something.

Just then a boy appeared at the classroom door. He was dressed in a knit shirt, jeans, and sneakers. He was holding
