1-Benefit of Learning a Foreign Language
Importance of Learning a Foreign Language
In today's globalized world, when competition to clinch the share of business market, communication and networking are two core values to achieve potential of an organization. In addition, the exchange of technological skills and experience need diversification. Thus, imparting learning language at a young age is the key to inculcating foreign language skills. Besides that, learning a third language enhances mental intelligence.
Firstly, if we look at economic perspectives, due to the expansion of global market, when products, services, and expertise clash to compete against the job market. There arises the need to employ capable, multi-tasking personnel across the globe with a competitive edge over other job seekers. A person who has a foreign language definitely overrides the other who lacks language proficiency.
Secondly, most tourists are afraid to venture out of their country due to lack of language, they fear getting lost or cheated. That is the reason for the boom of the tourist industry. People want to be safe and reach their destination, with a complete tour package. But if a tourist knows the native language, travelling around that country is fun, because he knows where to eat the best cheap restaurant and is able to speak with the locals fluently. Isn’t that awesome! But you know, to learn language will take some time to master, it doesn’t come with a zap of magic, and he wakes up to speak fluently like a Nazi. Learning a language needs effort, commitment, and passion to master it.
Thirdly, Research has shown that learning a foreign language can improve your memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. It can also help you develop better multitasking abilities and increase your creativity. When a person learns a new language, he has to memorize, recall, and use the phrase in his daily language. When he learns deeper, the learning process becomes easier, and he speaks automatically because the phrase is embedded in his mind, and it sticks without even thinking about using the words.
Finally, learning a foreign language widens your thinking and perspective of cultural diversity, as such results expand appreciation and respect of the local society. Understanding diversification enhances our understanding of the locals, their problems they are facing, and that will help learners to empathize global issues and news. Thus, students who learn a language have a broader knowledge when writing research papers and a wiser speaker when addressing international issues.
Proficiency in a foreign language can greatly enhance one's career prospects. In today's globalized economy, many businesses operate across borders and having the ability to communicate in a language other than one's native tongue can be a valuable asset.
For example, a company that has clients or partners in a foreign country may prefer to hire someone who can speak the language of that country. This can help to build stronger relationships with clients and partners and ultimately lead to business growth and success.
In addition, many companies operate on a global scale and may require employees to travel to other countries for business purposes. Being able to speak the local language can make it easier to navigate and communicate in a foreign environment, which can contribute to a more successful outcome for the business.
Furthermore, being proficient in a foreign language can also demonstrate a level of cultural awareness and sensitivity, which is increasingly important in today's diverse workplaces. This can help to build stronger relationships with colleagues and clients from different cultural backgrounds and avoid misunderstandings or miscommunications that could negatively impact business outcomes.
