It was a dark and stormy day on the Scottish moors long ago. Three witches danced in the swirling rain and fog.
When shall we three meet again, in thunder, lightning, or in rain?
one of the witches called over the howl of the wind.
When the fighting’s all done and the battle’s lost and won,
answered one sister.
That will be at sunset. We’ll meet on the moor then and tell Macbeth his destiny,
said the third.
Together, they chanted. Fair is foul and foul is fair. Hover through fog and filthy air!
With that, they dissolved into the mist and were whisked away by the storm.
Meanwhile, a fierce battle was raging on the other side of the moors. The Lord of Cawdor wanted to steal the throne of Scotland from King Duncan. Fighting against him was Macbeth, who was the Lord of Glamis. Macbeth had less land and money than the Lord of Cawdor and a lower title, but he was brave and strong. After a
