How is he going to find us? she asked, craning her neck to see past the bar and out the front door. They sat at a small table, far from the hustle and bustle. Thankfully, the music was not as loud, either.

He will. Don’t worry. Jake smiled a devious smile that told her he wasn’t nervous. Which was the opposite of how she felt.

Olivia was pretty sure she wasn’t shaking, but it felt like it to her. The water glass on the table was long ago drained to keep her Sahara Desert mouth functioning properly, and all that water was pouring out of her pits and hands. It all made her feel like a mess.
