While these stories are fiction, the feelings are real. Meet "Phoenix," 19 and struggling to live on her own. The world doesn't know it yet, but she has no parents. Working as a waitress in a gentlemen's club and wanting nothing more than to quit. This piece is inspired by her stress, in which she experiences in her dreams.
"The Servicemen Connection," is a short piece about my personal experience of learning first-hand what a non-profit company is and how creating one is important to have when soliciting larger companies for donations. It is a motivating piece to do more and keeps me grounded to pay it forward.
"Sister," is based on a true story with a fictional sweet ending. Through my infancy of fictional writing, I found retelling stories with a "happy" ending is therapeutic and reflective of my perseverance in dealing with my triggers from child abuse.
Have you ever trusted someone with a plan and realized you were part of a different plan, involving the same person you trusted? Meet Jan, independent and confident in her plan until she realizes her plan, is not the only plan.
Finally, Tobe Nam (ToeBee vietNAM), my first character and the beginning of a series, "The Adventures of Tobe Nam." This piece is dedicated to raising awareness to fight suicide and the hope that blossoms from support.
