      Introduction

      This small booklet is obviously not an in-depth study of the book of Revelation. However, it can be useful as a brief summary concerning the highlights of the last book in the Bible.

      Christians often associate the book of Revelation with horrible judgments from God, combined with confusing symbols. But this book also gives us wonderful glimpses into heavenly worship, points ahead to the Second Coming of Christ, and describes a wonderful eternity for believers.

      This is the only book of the Bible that contains a promised blessing for those who read it and obey its instructions (Revelation 1:3). In addition to a promised blessing, Revelation reassures us that God is in control — no matter how desperate the times become.

      God wants all Christians to have at least a general understanding of the book of Revelation. Believers are urged to know and understand this book in anticipation of Christ’s return.

      The Central Figure

      of the Book of Revelation

      The central figure is Jesus Christ. The book begins with the words, The Revelation of Jesus Christ (1:1). It should not be referred to as the revelation of John the apostle. This book reveals Jesus Christ more fully.
