    Chapter 1:

A car stops at the garage. A young boy comes out of it runs across in his house thudding the door open.

Jay! Don’t run up there and sit down to play and sit on your computer... first, eat the lunch and then go!, the boy's mother speaks.

The young boy ignoring his mother's words, ascends the stairs rushing in his home and sits on the computer.

    The boy's father comes inside.

He has ran again to play videogames... when will you start controlling him?, the mother says to the boy's father.

Don’t worry I will go and have a chat with the chap, the man says as he goes upstairs.

Jay is playing an FPS shooter videogame with his friends. His father comes outside his room and opens it after knocking on it.

No... No... He is just 1 hp 1hp!, Jay is screaming in his headset. His father comes close and puts a hand on his shoulder.

Jay, Mum is calling you for breakfast..., He tells his son.

Dad, please give me a moment, I will come down after finishing this match..., Jay negotiates with his father.

Sure... which game is this by the way?, his father asks him.

His mother is in the kitchen. Setting the plates on the table. She has prepared a grilled turkey with cheese sandwiches, which are Jay's favourite. The house has a modern feel to it. The furniture is edgy. At the center of the kitchen, the lamps are hanging over the dinner table giving a soothing outlook to the eyes. Jay's mom waits for a while after setting the whole table but when she sees that the father himself has not returned from the lair of his son.

She ascends the stairs now and hears from the outside of the room.

Whoa! Dad how did you do that?!, the boy asks his father.

Ahaha, son before marriage, I used to play insanely… videogames, I loved them…, he tells Jay.

You have to teach me how to flick like that dad…, Jay says to his father.

Practice son, just practice and you will get there…, Jay’s father says to him.

She enters the room and walks up behind her son and husband.

So I see, you gents are having a good time…, she says.

Both of them don't pay any attention to her words and continue playing.

THE FOOD IS GETTING COLD!, she says loudly to both of them. They spring out of their chairs and dash downstairs.

She sighs and then follows them down. Jay is sitting on the table with his father. Both of them silently put food in their plates.

How many times have I told you Jay?! Eat before you play!, she says to him in an authoritarian manner.

Sorry mom, daddy said you can wait for a few minutes… so I continued…, he responds to his mom.

Is that so?, she says while looking at her husband.

Jay’s father looks at him angrily from the side of his eyes. Jay smiles covertly.

There was no such thing honey, we just got busy that is all…, He says to her wife.

After finishing the food and putting the plates in the sink, Jay went back to his room. Tired from school and the stress of the competitive games he played. He feels sleepy. He lays on his bed and looks at the ceiling. On the ceiling, photos of many action heroes are attached such as the chief, Doom guy along with other characters who took the fight to the worst of the worst in that universe.

Jay closes his eyes and imagines himself to be the chief, the legendary warrior who had a special suit imbued in the biology that gave him superhuman strengths and so he defended Earth from many of the deliberate calamities that came towards it. As the day starts to go into the evening in New York City, Jay falls to sleep dreaming about powers where he is cherished and admired.

In the evening of Chicago, an old man knocks on the house of their neighbour.

Good evening… sir… I live in the next house since you don't seem to think that people are living around you. Please keep it down, we are trying to rest after a tiring day.

Oh I am so sorry Mr, I will see to it… my sincerest apologies to you…, Edward tells them.

Edward closes the door and goes back to the room where children are sitting. They all are playing Tekken on the console. The seven children all cheer at once for one of either who are playing against each other. The loud voice makes Edward cover his ears but he is glad to see all of them happy. Edward is playing with Jin Kazama, the famous protagonist of the fighting game series. Edward tries to talk the children into speaking less loudly but the young ones scream at the top of their lung for the support of Darren. The match starts and Darren plays at the top of his game. He punishes each failed hit and blocks the incoming attacks to such a level that he takes two rounds in the bag with perfection, maintaining zero hits on Jin.

As the match ends and Darren wins, Edward’s wife stands next to him watching all the children before them including Darren. The children gather around Darren and hug him while he does the same. The smiles make Edward tear up. He goes
