    Chapter 1

    Home Sweet Home

When Ocean and Sky were with their family, they were ecstatic. Of course, June, Sarah, and Wally were now included in their extended family.

However, when the girls were on earth, their angelic parents always made sure they were happy. But Omohafe was different in some ways. They felt more at home here. They felt more protected, safe, and loved there. They had a special sense of belonging when they were with their family.

It was also a quiet place where Sky felt at ease with the knowledge that her parents had once lived there and had given their lives in defense of it. Sky’s perception of what home meant had changed completely. It wasn’t a place she had known growing up or throughout her childhood. However, it was the home where her parents proudly resided, with honesty and dignity. Ocean and Sky experienced a sense of security, warmth, and love from June, Sarah, and Wally. Both sisters enjoyed making memories and sharing joy with their new family.

It was time for Sky and Ocean to hear the tales of their biological parents’ heroic exploits from June, Sarah, and Wally. This had a huge impact on Sky. She felt so proud of her parents and wanted to be more like them. She was enthused to confront more complex situations and set appropriate boundaries and values like her parents.

Sky discovered from her parents’ stories that honesty was not something made of glass that would shatter if dropped but rather a good cup that endured the centuries in any condition. Now that she had decided to drink from it, it could be her holy grail, a place to call home, or a stronghold in times of adversity, but like with every path leading to a beautiful place, it could only be traveled by the courageous. She had to maintain her commitment in order to aid Ocean in doing the same.

Ocean, you know your father was happy when he came to know that you were about to be born. And just for you, he had planted that orange tree, Wally told Ocean with a broad smile while pointing at a mysterious orange tree.

The tree stood at the north end of a million grassy wands, and its bark was patterned in such a way that it appeared to have been carved by its own rain-born flash rivers. The orange tree was covered in large purple
