    CHAPTER 1

MY EYES SNAPPED OPEN, confusion and annoyance engulfed me. I was dreaming that I'm a wolf running through the wood. My body was heated. It was dark. I panicked. My heart palpitated in dread. My mother's crying face faded in the back of my mind. A chill ran down my spine when I felt the rest of things faded. It seemed like a memory to me. But I knew everything was real that I had gone through from a few last weeks.

My gaze was drifting around to find the source of light. I thought to call for someone but I clamped them immediately. It could be dangerous. I hadn't forgotten waking up in a castle. Next moment, I was betrothed.

I slithered my fingers through my hair and it came out easily. I snorted. They should be tangled.

My heart thundered hearing a sudden loud creaking of a heavy door. I cringed and my gaze shifted over to the door. My eyes squeezed tight against the bright light. My arm jerked up blocking the blinding white light.

I tried to hear something. But nothing caught my attention. Abruptly, the place was lightened up.

Finally, you're awake. His voice was slow and deep. I could never forget that accent which pulled me in.

Aragon? I asked. My voice was rough and weak. I cleared my throat. I felt my throat was perched.

    It won't hurt you, Queen.

Gradually, I lowered my arm, gulping. My eyes were still closed. I opened them. He was smiling down at me. He was looking like a king from the ancient bestseller book with an expensive silky shirt, white trousers and a silky cloak, the border was studded with gems and a thick Ruby's necklace around his neck.

You look stunning. My brows shot up. But I recalled her words in my mind, Shouldn't I wake up in the Dark Realm? I asked.

His smile deepened, Thank you, you didn't find me horrible. He paused. Shouldn't he say more?

And? It doesn't look like your place. My eyes darted around. The walls seemed to be covered with yellow soil. The ceiling, floor and walls were of the same colour. The colour of fertile soil. The door was of iron. The place was very neat and clean. I wouldn't call it a room as it looked like an enormous hall with everything you might need in a house.

It's very well my place. His smile didn't waver.

You're not telling me everything. I was sounding sad. I still don't remember anything. I was cursed. If I was reborn. I didn't remember anything from my past life. I should remember everything. That was the breaking curse going to provide me.

Can you feel something else? He asked, looking down at me.

The single bed in the centre of the hall was very comfortable and clean. I could smell lavender in the air.

I felt myself. I was feeling stronger though my physical look was the same. But I couldn't be sure until I saw myself. My wolf surged up in my chest. My eyes widened, feeling her strength. I could feel her alive and her power seemed too much to me. My big eyes lifted to his smiling face, My wolf! My curse?

There is no curse. Yes, you can feel your wolf, He confirmed. Though, you can't shift. He added immediately.

That was my last concern. I shot on my feet, Where am I, Aragon? I stared into his eyes. Though, Daniel, Carlos, Alex and Jasper had forbidden me to do this sort of stupidity. It shocked me when his red eyes couldn't hypnotise me. I reared back in shock. The back of my knees hit the bed.

    Dark realm. He replied.

My eyes widened further. I reached for our bond. Instead, I felt a sharp jab of pain in my chest. My hands shot to my chest, my knees gave up, I slumped down. My back against the bed, What's happening? I can't feel him. Tears blinded my eyes. Confusion muddled my brain. I stared at him in horror.

He laid a hand on my shoulder. In a blink, my body was perceiving no pain, Calm down. He said.

My mate, My wolf wanted to take control of my head and body. But his touch on my shoulder was doing magic on us.

Don't try to reach your bond. He shook his head, denying me.

My pulse quickened in dread. Why? Suddenly, I was very angry. My wolf was ready to tear him apart.

I felt power surging through his body to me. His power was calming my wolf.

Only Dastien can do this. My pupils widened in terror.

I'm bonded to your mate. I can only help. But I can't help it if she gets out of control. The moment you'll step out of this door, you'll be killed. He said.

My wolf clawed at me to get herself free, to take the reins of us.

'No, I wanna reach him while still alive. We have to hear him.'

Instead of answering me, once again I felt her power. She was so strong.

Your power won't help you if you don't know what's laying ahead of your path. Aragon said.

I closed my eyes, started to take deep breaths. I needed to use my head.

    'Bullshit,' My wolf snapped.

I wanted to roll my eyes, 'We don't know this place. Aragon is here. A king. There must be a reason.' I told her.

She settled down at the back of my head. I opened my eyes and nodded at him. I asked him the most important thing, Why can't I feel him?

Now we can talk. He smirked, removing his hand, Not only your mate but also the one who cursed you is here.

The one who is responsible for my mother's condition too? I asked with anger.

He nodded his head, You need to eat, you would like to bathe and most importantly. He brought his palm between us and unfurled it, revealing a Firestone cocktail ring, You have to put it on.

What is this? I asked. He should tell me everything instead of offering me a welcome gift to the Dark Realm.

It would allow you to wander in the Dark realm without getting recognized. He said.

I snorted, No one knows me here.

His smirked confused me more, Please eat something. You need comida to keep your wolf in control. You can't let them know who you are. He said walking over to the door.

    His mate? I asked.

Not only that... you're more than his mate. His answer confused me. I opened my mouth but the creaking of the door stopped me.

Dastien never said anything. Aragon was also playing mysterious. Shouldn't I open my eyes if it was some kind of dream? I dug my nails in my palms as hard as I could. There was only pain. My wolf was also sad. She wanted to reach her mate.

'We can't just wander around when we don't know the whole story. The person is out there who cursed us. Whoever he or she is. He/She doesn't want Dastien to be our mate. '

'She! I would kill her.' I felt her possession for her mate.

I rolled my eyes at my wolf. Aragon cleared his throat. My eyes shot at him. My wolf growled at him. Clearly, not liking his advice to not reach for my mate. Tap trice on the door and.. He gestured at the ring with his long index finger. Don't forget this. It's going to be your oxygen cylinder in an airless environment. He said walking toward of the door.

Shouldn't you tell me everything? I demanded before he could leave me alone with my seething wolf and a bucket full of questions.

Your memories would take time to restore. He said.

It's not the only reason to keep me here. Who cursed me? I asked. There are rumours that she was Dastien's mother. I heard Sap saying it confidently.

Yes, if you die, you can't be reborn. Dastien would lose his temper. He would destroy everything. No one would be alive then.

Why would his mother want this? I wasn't certain. I wanted him to correct me if I was wrong.

You'll get the answer with your memories back.

I need to see him. I didn't mention his name. He has to answer me. He can't disappear and pretend that I don't exist.

Have patience, Queen. I heard the loud creak. My wolf got on the back of my head, I could feel her sadness.

Sorry, buddy. You have to stay there until we solve this mystery. I told her, getting on my feet. I shuffled toward the door he gestured.

My jaw dropped to the ground. What was this place? It was extravagant. There was a swimming pool. The air was filled with lavender, patchouli oils, cinnamon, and some herbs I couldn't recognize.

I forwarded my steps. On the granite counter, dusky white towels were placed and next to it was a silky green dress. I ran my fingers on it. I felt the fabric alive beneath my skin. I yanked my hand away immediately.

A soft laugh caught my attention. In the doorway, a girl near my younger sister's age was standing, looking at me with amusement in her eyes. I never thought I would see the princess yanking her hand away from her favourite colour.

Princess! Not queen? My share price dropped, I guess. She was the only one who had called me princess. Who are you? I asked.

She bowed her head. You can call me Jolly, Queen. She was still smiling.

Queen! Not princess! Her tongue isn't corporate with her.

Are you here to mock me? I asked her. My wolf growled at her. 'I'm handling the situation, buddy. Don't scare the poor girl.' I told my wolf. She growled at her and settled down again. This thing is new but I like it.

Please, accept my apology. I didn't mean to offend you. I'm here to help you. Her face whitened.

This place was strange and big. I wouldn't mind getting help but getting naked in front of a stranger, I wasn't going to do that. Is this thing really alive? I asked, looking at the gown.

No, Queen. It's your power. She said.

Do I have powers like Dastien? Power of fire? I asked her. If she was talking about my powers, she would definitely have known me or perhaps she would have heard about me.

That too. We shouldn't get late. She turned her back to me. I'll turn to you when you get in the pool. She said.

Thank you. I let out a sigh of relief for showing understanding toward me. I was still not used to this.

I STARED AT MY REFLECTION. I wasn't expecting the mirror to work under the dim light in this basement apartment. But I felt like standing under the sunlight while staring at my reflection. I actually looked like a queen without the crown too. I lifted my fingers to touch the braids. She decorated them with white small pearls. You did a wonderful job, Jolly. You must be the top paid stylish if you are staying on the earth. I told her.

She giggled and her cheeks turned red hearing the praise. She must not be used to hearing it. Don't forget your ring, Queen. She held out the ring.

It was glistening under the dim light too. It must be expensive. What do you know about it? I asked as I took it from her and slid it on my index finger where I thought it wouldn't fit. I felt a strong energy around me.

Rare fire diamond with a powerful spell that's hiding your strong fire and earthy scent. And that you're a powerful wolf. She said, her eyes glued to the ring. She murmured the last part as I wasn't supposed to hear it. I was Dastien's mate. No doubt. She was giving a dreamy look. Perhaps, Queen won't like it. Jolly said, making my head jerk at her

Queen? I thought I'm the only queen. I chuckled, turning away from her.

Queen Esmeralda. She straightened her back as pride filled her. She's our Queen.

So, Aragon is married. He didn't tell me. I lowered my bottom on the couch and grabbed white heels.

Jolly paced forward to help me and secured the straps around my anklets. I blinked at her quickness. I opened my mouth to ask her - How did she do it?

We shouldn't get late. She stared down at me.

She was squatting in front of me. Getting on my feet, I gave her a puzzled look. She turned her back to me and opened the heavy door with a slight grasp of her four fingers. She looked slim but she's strong. This place was full of mystery. I gazed at the mirror one more time. It was still looking like a happy day under full daylight.

She was suddenly cold from her jolly demeanour. Was she two polar? Shrugging my shoulders, I walked over to the door and stepped out of the room and saw a flight of stairs.

She closed the door and took the stairs.

I was expecting her soft words. It felt like she was struggling.

With every step, the light was getting bright. I could feel people but couldn't hear a footstep. Jolly was also moving very fast without letting anyone know her presence.

My jaw dropped to the ground when I witnessed splendid architecture work around me. It felt as if I was plucked from fourteen century and dropped into twenty-two-century. The marble was black under my heels and shining so bright that light spread everywhere.

You're putting our entire kind at risk by helping her. The Light Queen won't forget our betrayal and the Shadow Queen. She's not a pure soul. A loud voice reached my ears. She wasn't happy with whatever they argued over.

A knot of dread formed in my stomach. I didn't want it to relate to me. My friends and family also liked to hide things from me. But I have no friends here. I can't expect them to help me.

I know what I'm doing. You can always step back. I won't ever complain. And, she won't dare to start a war. The war was over years ago. They adore her. Aragon was angry. I never saw and heard him in wrath. I stepped forward and they came into view.

Adored! She said the word more strongly. She didn't spare her own son. He didn't remember a thing about her. She must be the Queen Esmeralda. I could only see her back. And from her back profile, her expensive silky puffy gown I could tell she was very beautiful. He's considering her split his mate. She bellowed.

    Split! What's that?

His jaw locked as he sniffed the air. he must have sensed me. From the tense silence, I could bet they were discussing me. It was just a guess. My eyes were widened. I stared at them in shock.

Aragon's jaw was locked tight. He was truly a king from outside and inside. His eyes darted on me. His expression slightly softened. Emersyn, He offered his soft smile.

I'm not gonna lie about her to people. I can't put many lives in danger. She spun, angrily.

Wao! She is an angelic beauty. She thinned her rosy lips as she glared at me with her big red eyes. She was a vampire. I should be scared. But her beauty was calling me. It was a trap. I told myself and shook my head recalling their words in my head when we were under Vampire's attack.

She began to pace at the largest wooden white and gold painted door. This place was a magnificent palace. I felt outsider.

Aragon strode ahead. Are you ready to see your world? He asked, softly.

    Your! I don't know a thing.

I nervously looked at her. Your wife, Am I the reason she got upset with you? My voice was weak with sadness. I shifted my gaze to the shining floor.

His expression was one of as he just snorted but didn't hear a thing. She's not my wife. He cleared his throat as he squinted at the door.

If she can talk to you in that tone, and you're not bothered, if it brings a big smile to your face. She's perfect to be your wife. I told him.

I wanted to discuss the topic of why she was upset with him. But I did not want to meddle. Thank wasn't my place.

Let's not talk about it. You'll be introduced as my sister. His gaze caught the ring.

I smiled and nodded letting him lead the path. He could protect me from any danger. Um, you were arguing over me. I couldn't hold the question.

You need to catch up with a lot of things. He heaved a soft sigh.

My lips arched up when I stepped under the blue sky. The soft warm breeze brushed my skin. I closed my eyes against it to feel it closely.

Don't let it invade your happiness, Princess Serfina . A snapping voice made my eyes jerked open. I saw Esmeralda on my second side. Her head was held high, a soft boastful smile on her face. It can also carry your voices to your enemies. She flattened her lips.

I'm the reason for this anger. Lord help me.

My brows crushed together. Princess Serfina ! That's not my name. I took a retrieving step back. I was alarmed by her dislike and continue glare at me.

Enemies! Not an enemy! That wasn't good news.

I didn't get you, Esme. I said, hoping to get not more snapping and hatred from her.

Her eyes jerked at me, I could see shock and fuming anger. No one would have called her by this name. She bared her teeth and I saw her fangs. She was a Vampire Queen. Thirsty for my life! She could hear me from afar. It's Queen Esmeralda, Emersyn. She said in full irritation.

Ah! Now she got my name.

Emma. We can be friends. I told her with a smile. I didn't mean to offend her.

She glared at me. Your kind isn't even worthy to be around me. A stupid fishy human. Your obduracy could get us all killed.

It would be good if you leave for your castle tonight, Queen Esmeralda. Aragon's voice was calm but his brows were knitted together in anger. He glared dagger at her.

Her nostrils flared. She doesn't like the suggestion. She's not aware of anything and you're picking her over me, over our people, over our land. Her lips straightened in a thin line. She shot her glare my way again.

We can't be friends. I'm certain.

The time isn't far when we all would be hauled out of our castle and forced to bow or be beheaded. He snarled, leaning his face close to her. His whispering tone sent shivers down my spine in fear.

We can find a way together out of it. She whispered calmly.

Yes, I can see how we're doing this together. He held her gaze, his eyes blazing.

I didn't want to cause conflict between them. Would it be wise to interfere.Um, guys, if you tell me where Dastien, I won't bother you ever again. My voice was hesitant. The air felt tight with tension.

Their heads turned to me. I took a step back seeing anger and irk on their faces. Definitely, this place wasn't for me. I'm feeling alone.

The Dark King is going to throw her out of the realm with  this ring on. She pointed her finger at my cocktail fire ring. And if she get rid of it, she pointed at the ring again. The queen is going to kill her. You can't stand for a second. Her brows scrunched together. Aragon's presence was holding her back to kill me.

A quick flash of anger in his eyes made me take another step back.  Enough, He said, a growl rattling through his chest. He glanced at me and smiled. He forwarded his arm.

Hesitantly, I curled my around his bicep. It's not a good idea. Your girlfriend will kill me. I whispered not bother to look at him. His vampire ears would pick it up. I could never forget what Silver did to me.

I've made a promise to my friend. He might have forgotten you and everything. That was the price he paid to protect you. Going against ancestors,it's good.

I felt a deep pain in my chest at the mention of him not remembering me. But I remember everything. It wasn't true. I should know who cursed me. I kept pacing with him. Won't he recognize me? I stared down at the ring. Gloomy tightened my chest and throat. What I have to do with ancestors?

He hummed following my gaze. You're not safe here without it. Make sure it doesn't separate from your skin. I stared at him. He sighed. He broke the rules generated by our ancestors. I gasped as unbearable pain shot through me with electric speed and vanished immediately.

My eyes pooled with unshed tears. My eyes? He saved me twice. I asked in a broken voice.

He shook his head. He did what a soulmate should do. He's The King. He doesn't come under any rule. He can break and create them at any time. It's love, Emersyn. That would bring him back to you. Every action has a reaction. Nothing is above him. But hidden enemies are always dangerous. No matter if they're powerful or powerless.

Thank you. I said with tears and wiped them immediately before they spilled down. But if my stay is troubling your people, particularly her. I shouldn't be here. I told him.

That's not your concern. I want you to meet someone. In my absence, you can trust them. They won't let any harm happen to you. He said, offering a small smile as his eyes whipped to me.

Concern took place making me anxious. I'm not certain. If he doesn't remember me, he won't come to help me.

He halted looking at me. I wanted to run back to the basement's dim room. He's my brother. I trust him. Believe me.

I sighed. I don't even know why I'm here. Why doesn't he remember me? I broke the curse. My voice was unexpectedly sad. It was coming from within me, my wolf was alone and sad without her mate.

Yes, you broke the curse. But the one who gave you that it wouldn't take her long to do it again. You won't be lucky all the time. Today is what we have. You have to stay low, hidden. You can't let her know your presence. She's upset with you.

Who's she? Who could be so hateful toward me for doing this? It must be someone from his family. Someone who didn't want me next to him or one of his girlfriends. Most important, what did I do to earn this?

The Miuccia Queen. He said her name respectfully.

His mother? I asked in a whisper, recalling Esmeralda's warning.

He gave a soft nod. You need to be very careful. Are you getting me, Emersyn? He asked, softly.

Yes, I nodded with tears in my eyes. If you could tell me more...

He shook his head. I'm heading to the Dark Palace tomorrow morning. There's a party. Jameson, my brother will answer your queries.

I rolled my eyes. I can't believe A party is more essential than your friend. I looked away as a tear slid down my cheek. I shuddered with fear with sudden loud thunder in the sky. Abruptly, the dark clouds overcast  the sky. It looked spooky.

Is she...? Esmeralda rushed toward us with a panicked look. She stared at me long. With a frown she took the remaining steps and lifted her hand. Something soft brushed on my cheeks. You're the queen. You just can't cry until you have a strong desire to make our surroundings flooded or burnt. She taunted.

I blinked in shock. It made another tear rolling down.

She growled softly. I'm sorry. My jaw dropped in shock. She turned to him. You have proved your point. For God sake, make her stop. Her worried eyes flipped between us. Another terrible voice echoed in the air.

I didn't catch you. He fixed her with a sharp stare. Amusement played in his eyes.

Please, make . The Queen stop. Her expression softened, her eyes were beseeching.

Your mate can feel your pain. He can feel what you're feeling. But he doesn't know how to make it stop. You have to be very careful. Aragon said, clasping a soft smile at me.

I looked at Esmeralda's worried face. I struggled to control my feelings. At least, it was a relief that he could feel me. I reached for my wolf.

'We can't let our hurt affect others.'

'We'll find him.' Her voice echoed in my head.

    'Yes, we will.'

I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply to rein in my emotions. When I opened my eyes, Esmeralda was looking less worried. Please, follow me, Queen. It felt really weird that she didn't want to be my friend but was looking at me with a friendly expression .

My gaze drifted to Aragon. He nodded with his usual soft smile. That was indicating there would be no danger. I followed her. I was relieved to find Aragon next to me. He was the only one I knew.

We left the splendid mansion behind us. My surroundings weren't what I was expecting. I was hoping to see a lush green garden with various kinds of flowers. I took a step closer to Aragon. It was a spooky place.

Is she going to kill me here? Of course, she wants to get rid of me. Why doesn't she tell me the whereabouts of my mate?

Can you see the black soil beneath your feet? She asked

I gulped as I stared at it. I was thankful that ominous clouds weren't over my head to make it more frightful.

She turned on her heels when I didn't answer. I nodded my head, feeling her eyes on me. My eyes were still looking at the vast black ground ahead of me.

It was beautiful land before. Flowers, tallest, broadest trees, rivers, waterfalls, green mountains, butterflies, animals, birds and all kinds of greenery were making our world gorgeous, very beautiful. But the day you were lost. Dark King lost his temper and this happened.

My mouth fell open in shock. The tremors of my heart echoed in my ears. My pupils were massive, my body language spoke fear. He destroyed it? I squealed in disbelief.

    Yes, he lost his control.

I believed her. He had lost it before when someone tried to hurt me. I nodded. My heart twisted in agony. This shouldn't have happened.

I was waiting for you in your chamber. Jolly told me you're here. Our heads turned hearing a male soft and joyful voice.

He was smiling as striding toward us. His blue cold eyes stopped on me. His features and smile matched with his elder brother. Halting his feet, he slightly bowed his head, his eyes on us.

You should have been here an hour ago, Prince Jameson. Esmeralda thinned her lips. It seemed a part of a tiny job. I giggled at my own joke.

She looked at me and arched her perfect eyebrows.

I am going to meet the Queen. I just can't wake up and show on the doorsteps. He took a long step ahead. Queen Emersyn, I heard only the truth about your beauty.

Your brother is flirting with me. Are you certain about your words. I asked him, nervously.

You're crossing your line, now. She snorted.

I heard the clouds. I was just trying to cheer you up, Queen. Jameson took a step closer to his brother.

Oh, alright. I felt stupid. It's Emma. I smile nervously, not certain what to say.

He looked at his elder brother. He was anxious. It made me frown. I wasn't a horrible person.

Aragon nodded his head and turned his eyes to me. Emma, you can trust him.

    Okay, I nodded instantly.

He kissed my head and my ring glowed. My eyes widened but I felt a strong aura around me. Take care of yourself. It was gone the moment he stepped back and held his hand out for Esmeralda.

Happily, she slid her hand in his large hand, grasping it tight. It was the only time I saw her smiling.Jolly would take care of your all needs, Queen Emersyn. And you're Princess Serfina  for now. She said as they began to walk back to the mansion.

Er, ok. Thanks, Esme. I paced behind them, not wanting to be alone with a stranger at a horrible looking place.

He took long strides to match my steps and slowed his pace, smiling at me. Well, Are you ready? He asked.

I pulled my eyebrows together. Ready for what? I asked. I was expecting to spend day in the dim room. My eyes were following Aragon and Esmeralda who took the turn disappearing from the view. My feet halted understanding that we weren't going with them. My wolf growled behind my head.

'We're alone with this stranger, buddy.' I let out a soft sight.

It's a strong magic around you that will protect you. It's hard to penetrate. James assured me.

But not impossible... I trailed off.

A slight tightness on his lips made him look into deep thoughts. I'll protect you, Queen Emersyn.

Emma. I told him that made him look at me. It will be nice to be somewhere with a more beautiful surrounding.

Of course, He gestured with his hand to the opposite side where Aragon and Esme disappeared a minute ago.

I sauntered forward. My wolf would keep us safe. She was stronger than I remember. But I can't shift, I guess. I'm a vampire princess, not a fire wolf Queen. For now.

I walked along with him at a good distance. This place was new. The only person I knew was out on a date with his girlfriend. She didn't like me considering that I would steal her boyfriend. She didn't wanna be my friend. I was missing Silver and Elizabeth, all the alphas and my family. My wolf clawed at my inner walk when I didn't mention Dastien. I smiled and hid it immediately.

My gaze drifted around. I couldn't see black land anywhere. But I couldn't shake off the uneasiness after witnessing scored land. There are no plants. Don't you need oxygen to inhale? I asked.

Unfortunately, the soil isn't powerful enough to give us plants. It's scorched from the roots. But there was once a massive woods, orchards of flowers and fruits. He said with a deep sigh.

It was a grey stoned path, the houses were also built with stones, the smoke was rising from chimneys. People were going to and fro for their daily jobs. They weren't looking bothered about this weird environment. At our sight, they were bowing their heads.

Hasn't anyone discovered yet to restore the fertility of the soil? I asked, watching my steps.

If anyone wants to face the wrath of the Dark King? He laughed. I glanced at him with big eyes. It's a joke. He added immediately.

He looked at me when I didn't get the answer him. I arched my brows when he didn't stop laughing.

    CHAPTER 2

The hours passed but I couldn't see green land anywhere but plants in pots.

Is Dastien Diablo King? I asked, recalling the word from an ancient book.

His gaze turned to me and his smile dropped. He opened his mouth. I saw his lips parted and moved. I could hear nothing.

A forceful gust of air circled me. I glanced around with a horrible expression. My gaze darted back to James. He was looking unaffected. He was still talking.

A beat of tense silence fell over me. Fear gripped me. The wind picked on my hair, moving them awkwardly in the air, some were whipping over my face. I lifted my hand to tame them.

My heart was running in my chest. Whirling on my feet, I looked around. I couldn't figure out anything. There was no one.

My feet halted. A particular dark spot attracted me. I couldn't dare to move my feet under unknown gaze, couldn't look away. I felt attached to the darkness which I couldn't comprehend that why it was there at this time of the day. My eyes were searching for something special. But what? I couldn't comprehend. I was just staring. I could feel my wolf was calm. She could be only calm around one person.

My eyes widened. Dastien! I heard a loud voice in my head.

    He's around us. He's there.

I tried to move my feet, tried to pluck them forward. Helpless made tears burnt in my eyes. I was paralyzed on the spot. My eyes were fixed on a particular spot in the dark as I was anticipating for someone to walk over to me cutting through the dark.

I struggled against the spell over me. But it felt so strong. I couldn't even blink my eyes. It was only my breathing that was going in and out without any trouble.

I forced my hands to move. I felt a strong touch over my shoulder. My eyes blinked. The spell broke. The dark spot where I was staring attractively. It wasn't anyone there. People were going to and fro for their daily chores.

It felt as if I wasn't here but somewhere in the dark.

Emma, are you listening? James' voice dragged my gaze to him but I couldn't shake off my shock.

I think I saw something. Something dark. I wanted to go to it, touch it, feel it. But I felt my body paralyzed under a strong spell. I couldn't even blink. My heart was still pounding in my chest. Sweat tickled down my back. That was horrible to feel yourself stuck in the moment. I've felt it before, but it was different.. It wasn't frightening me.

His eyebrows crushed together as he moved toward me, his eyes stayed on me. What are you saying? You were here all the time. You were listening to me one second ago and now you're looking at me with big shocked filled eyes. Worry clouded his eyes.

I don't know. I didn't want him to call me mad. I wasn't. It felt real. It was genuine. Was I stuck in a dream with my opene-eyes?

His brows puckered in confusion. Did you see someone? His gaze drifted

I let out a soft sigh. At least, he trusted me. No one, but a big ball of darkness as it was calling me. But I couldn't move. I blinked, looking in that direction again.

'Mate' I wasn't certain. My wolf, inner voice could feel him. But it was gone the moment the spell broke. The curse has prevented me from relishing my life. I am still not finding any path that would lead me to him. All I'm doing is waiting. It would have been easy to embrace my destiny with him next to me.

Fear clawed within me when the dark fell over us. I lifted my chin. The dark grey clouds covered the blue sky hiding the sun. A cool breeze blew, making my hair dance in the air. It was caressing my skin. I felt goosebumps raising across my skin. My mind was still stuck there.

The rough voice clearing throat interrupted my thoughts. My wolf leapt happily as he recognized him before seeing.

With my pounding heart in my chest, I turned on my heels. My eyes glued on him. His hair were longer than I remembered. they were looking so glossy and silky that I wanted to run my fingers through them. I clasped my hands together. His forest green eyes were already on me. There was no expression on his face. His look was regal. A black trousers and a black shirt was resting handsomely on his muscular body, not too tight not too lose, it was just perfect. a dark long cloak was completing his King like look. Every part of him ooze power and authority. His never ending
