Introduction
There are many misconceptions about software developer career success. For instance, the way to get ahead is to learn new technologies.
We need to be competent in technology. But that is only a portion of the skills we need to learn.
Do you ever feel like no one is listening to you?
You share your opinion in a meeting. Something you think is so important. Then after you are done.
Crickets.
Or even worse, the team disagrees. You feel alienated.
What if with a small change, you started getting people to listen? You actually began to influence the team.
In this short eBook, we learn some basic skills. Starting with communication. Then review some things to avoid.
Next, we cover collaboration that builds with empathy. From there we cover listening. Something I continue to work on.
