The ability to sense or feel the energy through mediumship and/or clairvoyance is known as a psychic ability. Clairvoyance is the ability to observe something while avoiding direct visual contact. This type of psychic power is frequently referred to as extrasensory perception (ESP), but few people are aware of it. Yet, unlike those with psychokinesis (PK), who have a significant amount of brilliance in their particular field of speciality, his or her ability may not reflect the person's exceptional psychic aptitude.

The manifestations of psychic ability can vary greatly, though. The most prevalent ones include clairaudience (the capacity for hearing), clairsentience (the capacity for sensing vibration or emotion), and clairvoyance (the capacity for seeing). All these psychic abilities are typically present in some combination in a medium. Since every form of psychic power is different, each one must be tested using a particular approach.

Physical mediumship, astral projection, remote vision using PK, and telepathy are the four main methods that psychics claim to use to carry out their duties. Channelling spiritual or angelic beings is part of physical mediumship. Astral projection is the capacity to observe and move across the astral dimension, although it is less straightforward to define. A person with telepathic skills can manipulate information unconsciously and avoid using conventional methods.

Many persons who possess a variety of psychic abilities choose to identify as spiritual healers, which is undoubtedly the case in many instances. But most people do not consider themselves to be religious leaders, and they rarely take such direct actions for religious reasons. The individual may choose to employ the power for either personal or spiritual goals. Yet, both scenarios are conceivable and have occurred in the past.

What Is Psychic Ability?

This layer entails a broader understanding of our place in the universe. This is somatic, felt, rather than intellectual, awareness. As a result, you'll have a broader understanding of the information that is accessible to you through intuitive, non-sequential routes that go beyond our regular sensory awareness.

When you first read that, it undoubtedly seemed like the sort of babbling nonsense you could find from numerous mindfulness gurus. (By the way, a rock band should be called The Pseudo-gurus of Mindfulness).

The aforementioned description might make a little more sense when we debate coincidences, though. However, let's dissect this term and make it absolutely apparent.

My best opinion about all of this, as I indicated before, is that the programmed self has access to information and events from reality that we aren't typically aware of.

Instead, most of the time, our programmed self removes many of these occasions and details—or, to use your preferred term, signals—from our regular sensory awareness. With the Programmed Self's assistance, though, we can occasionally receive these signals in a more direct, unfiltered manner—a way that looks more intuitive in nature—as we witnessed during our investigation of synchronicity.

Moreover, these signals frequently appear to lack the expected orderly cause-and-effect sequence, giving the impression of being non-sequential.

Our programmed self appears to be able to select and take in signals from the past, the present, and the future in addition to the present. Also, it might take up data from an event that is taking place far away in space and not where we are right now.

For instance, the coincidence that your friend calls you after you think of them contains at least one action (their choice to call you) that is not within your direct control. In a way that defies logic, the programmed self does appear to have access to this information. You may be able to see where this is going.

We typically associate psychic skills with the ability to learn about distant occurrences or to predict events in the future before they occur.

If psychic training is done correctly and with the proper attitude, I believe it can be beneficial for awareness at that point.

And that will be the main emphasis of our work with the ECS's intuitive extension level.

Psychic, magical, and intuitive

This intuitive extension level was the psychic level when I initially began instructing these techniques. But I believe that phrase has too many connections to the supernatural and the paranormal for us to utilize it.

The word magic level, which has been related to these mystical rituals since at least the 1600s, is another name I've used for this level.

But I stopped using that term since some people link it to the practice of Satanism or Wicca. But, as I just said, our work is not based on faith. Experience and understanding are key.

So, I only recently started referring to this level as an intuitive extension. That term seems appropriate given that we are trying to learn how to expand our intuition.

These activities are not being done to develop mystics or psychics.

To obtain intuitive insight into our real selves, we are engaging in these practices.

I am aware that some of you have experienced psychic experiences in the past from working with my in-person students and the online members of our Mindful Masters group.

I'm hoping that as we work through this material, you'll discover a fresh perspective on those earlier experiences. It may be difficult to let go of previous interpretations of the experiences, especially if the experience was powerful, whether positive or negative.

Just be aware that your programmed self might have had a big hand in shaping these earlier interpretations. Our Level 9 intuitive extension work may prompt you to reevaluate your prior experiences now that you have a better understanding of parts of your code. You might have a fresh perspective on them, a different attitude towards them, and a new understanding of them.

I know that you will find enormous comfort in this new technique, especially if your past psychic encounters have been unfavorable. But don't worry if you don't believe in psychic powers. You're not required to be.

Everybody can experience intuitive enlargement, even a cranky, old information phone like myself!

Developing My Psychic Talents

As I mentioned in the book's introduction, my perspective on psychic training evolved. I explained to you how I eventually came to accept a lot of the earlier psychic training that I had previously rejected.

I told you the narrative, but I omitted to explain why it changed.

It changed as a direct result of the programming done by Archetype Met, as you would have imagined.

Let me just clarify something before I tell you how AMP led me a full circle back to my psychic training. I'll be discussing an archetype I encountered during my AMP practice. This is based on my own experience. I don't want you to use my narrative as an example of how you ought to deal with this archetype if you are currently using AMP. Always personalize and make use of archetypes in a way that is pertinent to you and your circumstances. During AMP, you will have a completely different experience with this specific archetype.

With that in mind, you'll realize how personally relevant and accurate my interpretation of this archetype was for my circumstances. When you work with this archetype, you'll discover how it helped me become more aware of the mindful value of developing psychic skills. Hence, AMP fulfilled its purpose!

It identified a stuck spot in my life and helped me get out of it. With AMP, that frequently happened to me. I am confident that it will occur during your own AMP practice as well.

What's Really Hidden Behind That Curtain?

After working through roughly four or five archetypes over the first two months of my AMP practice, I drew the High Priestess archetype.

I started by using the normal AMP procedure with this archetype. After selecting the archetype, I created my own symbols for the card during the first week. I also looked at the common symbols. Remember that the internet was still in its infancy at the time (2001 and 2002). Consequently, even if some of the research materials for universal symbols were available online, the majority were still exclusively accessible offline. I mostly used to difficult-to-find and out-of-print literature for my research.

Thank goodness Powell's Books, the biggest independent new and used bookstore in the world, is located in Portland, Oregon, where I currently reside. Without them, I can't imagine how I would have conducted this study.

Of course, a lot of that difficult-to-find information is now available online.

Even Wikipedia contains most of it!

As a side point, I occasionally feel that AMP is more difficult—and even more enjoyable—when this knowledge isn't as easily accessible online, and you must search for it. Then, maybe I'm just a cranky old neophobe acting like that.

Returning to the common symbols You can see several strange items in and around the High Priestess' picture on the card if you look closely.

Her clothes partially conceal a scroll in her hand that reads Torah. The letters B and J are displayed on two columns. We are unable to see what may be beyond the columns because the priestess is seated between the two of them. Behind her, there is a curtain or veil. Our access is thus restricted, but we are also unable to see what lies beyond the columns. Pomegranates—possibly the forbidden fruit—are included in the veil.

As you can find most of this symbolism online, I won't go into detail here. Nonetheless, I will add that during my investigation of all these symbols, a theme of hidden knowledge emerged.

Whatever this knowledge might be, the High Priestess appears to be guarding it and preventing anyone from accessing it. The more I looked at those symbols, the more I was curious about what was hidden behind that curtain.

What top-secret information did the High Priestess guard in the temple? What guidelines (torches) were being concealed?

I made the choice to include a look at occult teachings as part of my portrayal of the High Priestess. In modern times, the term occult has evolved to denote paranormal or supernatural, as I've discussed a few times. It is frequently used by organized religions to describe bad or forbidden behavior. Yet, the word's original meaning was secret information, hidden teachings, or hidden skills.

The repressive social and ecclesiastical hierarchies frequently turned this hidden knowledge and skill into forbidden fruit. So, I intentionally sought out this forbidden fruit as part of my job as a high priestess.

I initially only started reading about various Western mystical groups' occult doctrines. Yet as I kept using the High Priestess archetype, I realized that not only would she keep these things hidden, but she would also be very familiar with them.

I would therefore need to experience these teachings in order to fulfil the job of the High Priestess, in addition to reading about them.

I made the decision to become familiar with some of the real rites and practices connected to these mystical, esoteric systems of knowledge.

In AMP, an archetype is often only playable for one week.
