Introduction

Apple recently released the 5th generation of MacBook Pro. And as their custom is, they only release one new generation every 4-5 years, that’s when they change the design and introduce major new technologies and features. Also between these generations they only upgrade the specs, each having a big upgrade over the previous one with the only exception being the 4th gen, which was full of issues. However, the 5th generation not only fixes all of these issues but also adds a ton of bonus features on top. This revamped of the MacBook Pro models according to Apple offers up an extraordinary performance as well as the world’s best display for notebook. The MacBook Pro 2021 models come in two sizes, a 14.2 inch and 16.2 inch, with both being equipped with more ports, mini-LED displays, substantial memory as well as Apple powerful Silicon chips – M1 Max and M1 Pro. These Apple Silicon are now using what is called a unified memory architecture, where the RAM is being shared between the CPU and GPU allowing quick access. They are inarguably the best MacBook Pro since inception. Both the 14 inch and 16 inch have the same configuration options and the only differences are the size and the battery life, which is great because if you wanted to get the most powerful MacBook of the two new models, you no longer have to get the 16 inch model to have such performance.

The new MacBook Pro is an engineering masterpiece that claims multiple world’s best trophies for various aspects of the design and performance, all which is the result of Apple

going back to the root and giving the customers what they really want. From sacrificing a slim-looking chamfered design, to giving users better cooling performance and ports all the way to bringing back our functions keys and giving us the best 120Hz display in any laptop, now it can be said for certain that Apple is finally paying some form of attention to consumer review.

Differences between the 14 and 16 M1 Pro MacBook Pro Base Model

Both the 14 inch and 16 inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro come with a slight difference in base configurations, with the 14 inch having an 8-core CPU and 14-core GPU, while the 16 inch model gets a higher powered 10-core CPU and 16 core GPU. However, what really matters is how much the increase in chip size affects real life performance. Here are some differences in the physical buildup of the laptops.

Size: This is an obvious difference between both laptops, as the 14 inch weighing 3.5 pounds is smaller than the 16 inch laptop that goes up to 4.7 pounds. There are however, pros and cons to getting one or the other. With the 14 inch you will be getting a much more portable form factor with a pretty nice display size
