About this ebook
The virgin isn't the only one with something to lose…
Self-described manwhore Kieran Frost is loving the single life. Two years after moving to Seattle, he still has his friends with benefits, Rhett and Ethan, plus a never-ending supply of gorgeous, available men wandering through the bar where he works. A relationship? Spare him the drama and heartbreak. He's got no complaints about his unattached lifestyle.
When Rhett's daughter introduces him to newly-out-of-the-closet Alex Corbin, Kieran's interest perks up. After all, the quiet ones are always the freaks in bed. But Alex isn't just shy and reserved. He's a virgin in every sense of the word—he's never even kissed anyone.
Kieran is no one's teacher, and his first instinct is to run like hell in the other direction. But his conscience won't let him throw the naïve kid to the wolves for someone else to take advantage of. The plan is to introduce Alex to his own sexuality, pull him out of his shell, then go their separate ways.
It's the perfect, foolproof plan…assuming no one falls in love.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I loved reading Kieran's story. He was one of the MCs in the previous book and I'm glad he got his HEA.
Again, the characters are interesting, engaging and super hot lol. The way the relationship builds is also lovely to read. I'm looking forward to the rest of these now. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was wonderful seeing Kieran again, I really loved him in The Distance Between Us, and it was nice to see Ethan and Rhett doing so well, too. When Rhett and Ethan's daughter Sabrina asks Kieran to show her friend Alex around Seattle's gay scene, he decides why not? Maybe he'll even get laid.
But then he meets Alex, and everything changes. A virgin in EVERY way, Alex is tootempting to Kieran, but he doesn't want to move too fast, and he does NOT want a relationship. Kieran isn't a commitment-phobe, as he keeps telling everyone, he is a getting dumped-phobe, and has seen so many relationships end badly that he's just not willing to risk the pain.
It was cute how other people realized Kieran was in love before he did, and I was really glad we didn't have page after page of Kieran being a dumbass in his effort to not be hurt. This book was sweet and romantic, and ohmygod hot. LA Witt remains my go to author for the hottest, steamiest, most gotta have it now sex.
Maybe now that I've finished the book, I can get that old country song out of my head. It's been driving me nuts for days. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is more like 2.5*--possible spoilers!
The second novel by L.A. Witt that I read, and unfortunately it confirmed what I took away from the first.
This book isn't written badly, most of the prose is competent, there are few if any plotholes, the dialogue fits the characters, there's a story arc and the characters show development. Yet it left me intrinsically dissatisfied.
My main complaint is that there was too much, too samey sex. These two men, and I mean adult men of 21 and 27, were described in a way I haven't seen 13 or 14 year olds behave. The sex was like something out of a porn movie and it was nonstop, unflagging and at the same frantic level throughout. It also was rather unerotic.
This in spite of the fact that one of the men is actually a complete virgin without even as much as a date under his belt. Which is my second complaint: I didn't at all believe in him, not the way he was described. Indeed, I loved the very idea of this (an experienced man showing a total virgin around), but it was not executed in an endearing or an erotic way.
I also was under the impression the author was riding a hobby horse here, or maybe had had some major "thematic idea" and emphasised it way beyond what was needed. The symbolism and the various foreshadowing came along like a bat across the brow with a resounding smack. Very unsubtle.
Lastly I resented this being much too sweet and conventional, a lot like a classic heteronormative romance, with people marrying left and right and values embraced which Kieran had rejected earlier. Much like the lost lamb coming back to the herd. That left a bad aftertaste.
On the whole a competently written, well-edited book which just wasn't that much my thing for the reasons explained above.
