Enid Hinkes was born in Newark, N.J. She graduated from Barnard College and Ohio State University School of Law. She practiced law in Washington, D.C., before moving to Cooperstown, New York, where she is the Village Justice. She lives with her husband, a retired police detective, and their three cats.
