Living in the close-knit community of Topeka, Kansas, Hester Workman, 46, was the kind of woman who would do anything for her family.
She had two children – Dillon, 16, who she lived with, as well as a 13-year-old daughter who lived with her dad, too.
Regularly taking her dog, Peanut, on walks around the neighbourhood, she lived a quiet but meaningful life.
She was a legal support worker at the Kansas Board of Healing Arts, so helping people was a big part of her job.
And a big part of her home life, too.
