Introduction
It is not possible for you to enjoy the benefit of something that you do not know. It is the same with the Holy Spirit we do not enjoy his works when we do not know him. Jesus knew the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit later led him to the desert for him to be tempted (Matthew 4 & Luke 4), but he did not fall into temptation. This experience shows that when the Holy Spirit is in control, there is no way one can fall into temptation. Which is why Jesus came out of the desert victorious?
"May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, is with you all. Amen." 2 Corinthians 13:14
The Holy Spirit came so that we can fellowship with him. The scripture above reveals to us that we do not relate to the Holy Spirit in the same way we relate to God the Father, or to Jesus the Son. In John 14:16 Jesus said that he would send another one of his nature, the Holy Spirit who is called helper, comforter and also God. The only thing that makes them different is that Jesus was revealed in human form, in a body. Which is why he could not be physically everywhere at the same time, and hence had disciples. He could be with them, but not in them. Today if Jesus can be in us, it is through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not revealed in a human body and can be in us.(the Holy Spirit cannot be in the human body hence He abides in us)
God, the Father
The Bible says let the love of the father be with you, and it says again in John 3:16 for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
. This means that the love of God is unconditional which is why the rain comes upon the upright and the wicked. Blessings are upon the wicked because God first of all is love he loves (the world). In God’s love, a sinner can live longer than we can imagine.
God is not strict with someone who doesn’t respond to his love as quickly as possible because he wants to show that he loves him the way he is. God’s love is constant(consistent) unchanging the same for us all.
Jesus, the Son
Grace (can be defined as un-merited favour) un-merited favour and Jesus deals with us on the basis of grace. We are saved not because we are clever or good, but because of grace. This grace is like the love of God; we do not need to be qualified to benefit from it. He loves us regardless of position gender and age.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit impacts us differently, communion or relationship are imparative to the functionality of the Holy Spirit. Communion reflects communication as such we cannot communicate without unity. When we are one, we speak the same language. Unlike love and grace, communion is not one way: it is has to be mutual. If we do not relate to him, we will never see him at work. We have to respond to his teachings when he teaches us; this is how we increase our level of communion with him. He led Jesus in the desert to teach him a lesson. After teaching him in the desert where he fasted 40 days and 40 nights, the Bible says that Jesus returned in the power of the Holy Spirit. If he had not obeyed the Holy Spirit, he would have never came out of the desert victorious. Lack of fellowship with the Holy Spirit leads to lack of power.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4:18-19
This is how Jesus came from the desert filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helped him to preach, to heal and to deliver and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour. The Year of God’s Favour is an environment of fruitfulness. It is a season where one receives results with less effort. When someone is in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, he does not only enjoy healing and deliverance, but also blessings. The Year of God’s Favour is a season when one receives things not because they deserve them; they receive them just by grace. Sin stops the Holy Spirit from working in us the way he wants to. Any child of God can develop fellowship with the Holy Spirit the more they spend time with him through prayer and meditation of God’s word(, the more they strengthen their relationship)
Fellowship with the Holy Spirit depends on our relationship with God.
"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter that
