TODAY’S GAME PLAN:
Having a Solid Foundation
Matthew 7:24–25 says, Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
This scripture describes two distinct types of foundations that we can build our lives upon. One is the stability of rock, while the other one is the instability of sand. This scripture does not say that you cannot build your house on sand; it just illustrates the expected end when you do.
Now that word foundation means the basis, or groundwork, of anything. Whether it be a house, or a marriage, or any kind of relationship, it all starts with a solid foundation. The same can also be said about our finances. In order for us to plan for an uncertain future, we have to be prepared for the what ifs
in life that will come.
In this scripture, Jesus was clear. He tells us in his word that when the rains come, and they will, and when the streams rise and the winds of life beat against your house, your house will not fall because it was built upon the stability of the rock, not the instability of the sand. The good news is this: it is never too late to start building your life on the rock. For those who do not know, the Rock is Jesus.
May God grant you spiritual success in building a solid foundation for your life.
Question: What type of foundation is your life built on?
TODAY’S GAME PLAN:
Wisdom
James 3:13 says, Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that come from wisdom.
The word wisdom can take on different meanings for different people. For example, I believe that wisdom is to do now what you will be happy with later in life. Another way of looking at wisdom is simply thinking things through before you act. If you read Proverbs, you see that wisdom involves prudence, which means good management. It also involves discernment, which means that you look beyond the surface of the matter and look for the deeper meaning.
The writer James looks at wisdom from the position of humility, which is something that we all could use a little bit more of. Wisdom comes from God, and He gives it freely if we ask for it. For us to walk in wisdom, we must desire it on purpose. I have found that in my life, wisdom and peace are the most important things that we can have for our lives. With it comes the anointing that God wants for our lives.
May God grant you spiritual success in finding wisdom today.
Question: Do you learn from your mistakes or do you try the same thing over and over?
TODAY’S GAME PLAN:
Atmosphere Is Everything
Psalms 71:8 says, My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.
There is a popular song by Byron Cage that goes, The presence of the Lord is here, the presence of the Lord is here, I feel it in the atmosphere, the presence of the Lord is here!
Did you know that atmosphere is everything in the life of a believer? In other words, what is the condition of the atmosphere that you live in? Is it peaceful or is it stressful? Is it full of love and joy or is it filled with anger, rage, and hostility? Is it filled with compassion or confusion? Atmosphere is everything. Whether on your job or at home, the condition of your environment can be the difference between a happy life or a stressful life filled with unmanageable difficulties and hardships.
We all go through difficulties and hardships in life. However, I believe the atmosphere we live in will dictate how we handle these difficulties.
How do we control the atmosphere that we live in? First, it all starts with allowing God with the love of Jesus to reside in your home. We do this by reading and knowing the word of God. Reading God’s word daily will help you realize that God is not the author of confusion. Next, we need to pray for the Holy Spirit to rain down on our lives so we feel His presence in tense situations, so we can have hearts that forgive, and have hearts filled with love and compassion. Finally, we need to open our mouths and give God the praise that he is worthy of and declare His splendor all day long.
When we do these things, we will create an atmosphere where we feel God’s presence in our lives. Atmosphere is everything.
May God grant you spiritual success with creating a peaceful atmosphere for your
