About this ebook

The warfare was intense. My husband's darkness was so hateful and overwhelming. The evil in my heart was toxic too. I was angry and filled with hate because he came after me. The countless deadly attacks were like an out-of-body experience in a spiraling orbit. Do not be dismayed. Darkness brings blessings from God. He honors marriage. You cannot see God's plan for your marriage unless you wait on God. He will show you what He has for you, if you faint not!

This book is dedicated to the Lord, thy God, in the mighty name of Jesus for loving and protecting me, for guiding and teaching me, and for empowering me to have undying faith and courage to persevere through Satan's plot to destroy God's precious creation, His children.

God's plan will be done in my life as He purposed.

When God chooses you for a significant purpose, it will not look like anyone or anything on the earth you thought it would look like. It will always be His plan. You will be spiritually guided by the Holy Spirit for redemption that only He, God the Redeemer, can perform.

Your sin-filled lifestyle and journey of all experiences, accomplishments, achievements, failures, hardships, disappointments, and losses will be your training for God's mighty hand of correction for your life and purpose.

We will never understand God's will or way. He, God, sees all and allows us to see what He wants us to see, when He wants us to see it.

You must fully submit yourself to God and believe in him for deliverance.

We will never measure up to Almighty God!

Trust His plan for your life!

I dare you to trust God!

God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

God sees all, knows all, and hears all.

God is all-powerful! God is the Creator of everything!

To my mother, Carolyn H. Elder, who introduced me to God at the tender age of eight years old. You taught me, through tough love, the responsibility for self, values, ethics, morals, and how to persevere through life with our Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior.

    A special thank you.

    Your daughter,

    Angela Christine

    *****

Without God, my heavenly Father's protection, your prayers, words of endurance, spiritual gifts, and insight, my journey would have been impossible.

    Introduction

My testimony, my story. Miracles of God's promises, protection, and instruction for His will, His perfect plan, and His purpose for my life. God's Word is a light to my feet.

I wrote this book because God told me to pick up a pen and start writing about the spiritual warfare in my marriage.

We want to believe we have our knight in shining armor when we enter holy matrimony. On the day of some weddings, you can hear the excitement from brides saying, He's my dream come true. Do not think you are obsolete and that it cannot happen to you! Satan is on the prowl to destroy your marriage! From God's original plan for the first Adam's union to Eve, to the final union of the Second Adam, Jesus Christ, and the body of His church is found in the books of Genesis, Ephesians, and Revelation. I will explain the correlation between the two and why Satan is coming like a thief in the night. To avoid a nightmare, choose God's choice for your spouse. Be spiritually and equally yoked. Our choices limit our perception, and we ignore the signs that are visibly staring at us directly in our faces.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

    —Ephesians 6:16 (NIV)

I will provide God's Mighty Word referenced in Scripture to document confirmation of the Holy Spirit's presence, guidance, and daily instruction throughout my spiritual and marital journey.

All scripture is by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

    —2 Timothy 3:16–17 (KJV)

I have several marital stories. However, I will only share the most significant stories that promoted profound life lessons and changes in my marital journey.

If you have purchased this book, then you have experienced spiritual warfare in your marriage that you may still be experiencing or your marriage has failed.

    Thank you for your purchase.

    Enjoy!

    The Day We Met

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

    —2 Timothy 2:22 (KJV)

I will always remember the day we met. I was nineteen when I saw him for the first time. It was April 24, 1984. I can recall.

I promise to give my co-worker and friend a ride home that night after work. I have someone I would like you to meet, my co-worker said to me as we walked through the revolving doors to exit the dark building. He has a handle on women like you have with men, and I think you both would give each other a run for the money.

I don't do blind dates, I said as we laughed while getting into my car.

I was very tired of working part-time. Attending school full-time can become exhausting when it's something you must do. I just picked my car up from the car lot. I did not want to fulfill my promise to my co-worker or meet a total stranger that is likely to gross me out. I want to take a ride through the neighborhood and show off my wheels, I thought to myself.

My girlfriend called me at work that afternoon. I was in a breakup with my boyfriend who attended Kean College. She told me that Kean College's Sigma Fraternity was having a party that could not be missed. Everyone will be there, especially my ex. How do I just drop off my co-worker without being distracted about the night ahead? Or rude, rushing him to get out of my car? I could not get my mind off the new outfit I bought the previous weekend. I wanted to show off. Oh well, let me make the best of it, I thought as I sat there pouting.

We pulled off to find the quickest route to my co-worker's house. I realized that my new car was losing power. I was not happy as the speedometer reached fifty miles per hour. I went into a panic. The needle slowly reversed, declining, dropping to zero. I immediately pulled over and whined like a kid. I asked my co-worker, What are we going to do? my co-worker was calm and relaxed, showing no sign of hysteric behavior, taking complete control of the intense situation, assuring me that it would be fine.

If we can get into town, I know my friend will troubleshoot and fix the problem.

As he tried to calm me down, I questioned him, What if you can't find him? It's getting late out here.

I know where he hangs out. Don't worry, my co-worker said.

Trusting his words of comfort and wishing for a miracle, he told me to switch seats with him. He hesitated as he turned toward me and looked at me with hope. Angered by the whole situation, I began using every profane word I could think of to call the salesman who sold me this clean piece of junk.

We coasted down the highway with the hazardous lights flashing, letting all passing vehicles know we were in distress.

Finally we made it into town. My eyes wandered, looking for any and every guy walking down the street or talking on the corner in hopes to find his friend whom I never met. "Is
