About this ebook
Do you have enough?
Enough money? Enough security? Enough of whatever it is you need?
In the face of historically questionable financial systems, turning one's personal ship around can prove to be one part economic research, one part re-imagining new ways to live, rather than only focusing on practical solutions of resume-writing or snagging some kind of (any kind of!) job in a societal climate rife with un- (and under-) employment. For author Dre Smith, such research and re-imagining led to the discovery that some people in this day and age (even in first-world countries) have figured out how to live pretty well despite today's less-than-healthy monetary paradigm. Some folks have even figured out how to survive using almost no money at all. The explorations fall under the title DEBT, MONEY, WEALTH since these are concepts of heightened concern for most modern-day citizens, though alternately the book could have been called ONE PERSON'S JOURNEY TURNING POVERTY INTO PROSPERITY, or FROM NOT FINANCIALLY MAKING IT TO HAVING IT MADE IN THE SHADE instead.
Want to have enough?
Enough money? Enough solvency, security, safety?
Enough of whatever it is you need?
Read on.

Summary: In the face of historically questionable financial systems, turning one's personal ship around can prove to be equal parts economic research plus re-imagining new ways to live rather than only focusing on solutions of resume-writing or snagging some kind of (any kind of!) job. For the author, this research and re-imagining led to the discovery that some people in this day and age (even in first-world countries no less) have figured out how to live healthily within today's less-than-healthy monetary paradigm, as well as figuring out how to survive using almost no money at all. The explorations are now under the title DEBT, MONEY, WEALTH since these are concepts of heightened concern for most modern-day citizens, though alternately the book could have been called ONE PERSON'S JOURNEY OF TURNING POVERTY INTO PROSPERITY, or FROM NOT FINANCIALLY MAKING IT TO HAVING IT MADE IN THE SHADE instead.

CONCLUSION
INTRODUCTION
Doing research on subjects of interest, for me, is like getting to enjoy time with good friends.
Sometimes it leads to the feeling of good new friends I've just discovered; other times to good old friends when I find myself returning to thoughts and words of intrepid thinkers that I've dipped into before.
THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND by G. Edward Griffin, for instance, is one such old friend. This worthy tome opens with words I spent quite a bit of time pondering at one point in my life:
"Where does money come from?
Where does it go?
Who makes it?"
Griffin goes on to promise that within his book the secrets of the money magicians will be revealed, and in this he has surely said a mouthful of Truth because as the smoke and mirrors, pulleys, cogs, and wheels creating the illusion of money are unveiled, the jaws of ordinary readers like I once was are pretty much guaranteed to drop open in utter amazement at how basically citizens worldwide have been duped for centuries into giving away everything of substance and value for something that possesses neither. A boring subject?
asks Griffin. Just wait! You'll be hooked in five minutes. Reads like a detective story - which it really is. But it's all true. This book is about the most blatant scam of history. It's all here: the cause of wars, boom-bust cycles, inflation, depression, prosperity. Your world view will definitely change.
Personally I have to say that finally actually having ENOUGH money in my life now is an awesome feeling, after so many years of ... not. And I sincerely prefer having enough of the stuff to purchase the kind of food I like to eat any time I enter a grocery store, rather than feeling forced to buy whatever's on sale (or worse: existing through times when myself and those I was responsible for have had to do without).
There were entire years I lived without the taste of my favored salmon burgers crossing my lips.
Those years were not fun.
I also love having enough money to pay bills on time (what bills are left after surviving a certain amount of crisis when everything was scaled way, way, way back) and also having enough to sometimes pay bills early, or for a year in advance on bi-annual expenses.
And I absolutely ADORE having enough cash on hand to buy a friend's toiletries or snacks when in town, without having to ask to be reimbursed ... or, worse, needing to be paid up front because there is so very little $ in my wallet.
Yet this happiness at once again having money to my name when for a long arduous while I did not, does not equate to thinking all is well within the monetary system at large.
No, the copious amount research done at breakneck speed during my Crisis Years put an end to such innocent notions once and for all. But before diving into my personal debt/money/wealth tales (which could have been titled ONE PERSON'S — OR ONE LONE RANGER'S — JOURNEY OF TURNING POVERTY INTO PROSPERITY, or FROM NOT FINANCIALLY MAKING IT TO HAVING IT MADE IN THE SHADE!), I must mention that I've also slowly-but-surely come around to a genuine sense of distrust for the concept of money overall as it is known to be operating within the world's economic systems today, along with having some startling realizations about just how the monetary system itself has been intentionally misused, mishandled, and manipulated throughout history.
New/old friend Daniel Suelo's writings were quite helpful in this regard, such as his blogs:
ZERO CURRENCY/MONEYLESS WORLD - FREE WORLD - PRICELESS WORLD http://zerocurrency.blogspot.com/ and
LIVING WITHOUT MONEY https://sites.google.com/site/livingwithoutmoney/ which each do a good job conveying the direction my own beliefs on the matter seem to be leaning.
In a world based on having to buy and sell basically everything, of course I would still much rather have enough money than be struggling along, often doing without.
On the other hand, I'm not sure the way our country's or world's economic systems are set up really benefits me or the rest of the common man.
Dialogs with Suelo that appear online (https://www.becomingminimalist.com/the-man-who-quit-money-an-interview-with-daniel-suelo/comment-page-4/-comments) and within a book that's been written about him (THE MAN WHO QUIT MONEY by Mark Sundeen) feature this unique fellow's comments about the Reality of money with notable quotes such as: Money only exists if two or more people believe it exists
and: ...agriculture, money and usury are inextricably linked since their inception thousands of years ago....(t)he very nature of money itself separates the consumer from the producer, separates human actions from accountability, making it a thousands-year-old breeding ground for corruption, poverty, and environmental destruction.
It is quite thought-provoking that
