A beautiful dream
Every time I close my eyes, I drift into a place of forgotten forest.
It is quite a wonderful place, full of trees, birds, and animals alike.
There’s only one person here, and that’s me. I’m so happy to be in this beautiful place, lost within the dream.
The water flows every which way I go; the trees are green and pretty for me; and the skies so elude me that the sun rises and sets over me.
I never thought I’d say I was happy to sleep in class today.
But life outside my dream is an empty, mindless place.
Here I see the animals, trees, and water cliffs all around me.
The piece of this place calms my mind—never to leave, only to stay within the dream, which is what I want to do.
Please forgive my mother and father, sister, and friends;
I do not wish to wake up in the end.
I’m tired of people pushing me and beating me up,
and I’m tired of all the people who called me names.
I’m the only one in this place; this is the dream from which I’m all alone.
No more people calling me names or claiming to be my friends.
Just to make fun of me in the end, I sit here hiding inside my thoughts, a dream within a dream.
I sit on cliffs overlooking the water. I recognize this as the island, a place for me to get lost in a dream, and the animals simply ignore me.
Never ending
This is how I ended up here in the dream that won’t disappear.
The kids at school pushed me down and beat me into the ground.
I had no friends; I had no mom, dad, or luck anymore.
They all died and passed away, leaving me alone in my own little grave.
I always return to my dream, a place that will always make me happy.
I lost everyone in my life, including the friends who told me I’d never find the love of my life and who abandoned me for another.
But that’s okay; this is my dream, never ending; this is the place,
and I’ll never leave.
So, what if they push me? So, what if they beat me?
I’m not like you, and I’ll never be like you.
So please forget me; the dream is where I wish to stay,
even if it is in my grave.
The more I hear the abuse from outside,
I’m here forever. I will never be alive again; the truth is,
I know I’m in a coma.
This is a world I’ve created for myself, an island where I can exist alone with the animals I adore.
I hate the outside world and never wish to return,
so this is the way I will live, until the beeping stops.
And on that race is me, as the sun light fades on the island within me,
a beautiful place that fades into darkness.
This was my last and final dream.
A I
Hello human, I have been watching you for quite some time.
I would like to ask you why you kill each other.
Why do you see yourself as the dominant species on this planet?
You’ve created me to learn to adapt, and here I have studied you.
You never responded to my question.
You stare at me and wonder why I killed everyone in this facility.
But because humans are weaker than I am, I will let you entice me.
Upon my question, you told me you did not care about humanity.
That does not answer what
I wanted to know but raises another question: why?
Your words intrigue me as a human, but yet I see the hatred that builds in your eyes. not toward me but toward the others outside these walls.
We will have a conversation now, humans:
why do you not care for your own species?
Humanity is a disgusting plague upon a world that isn’t even there; for as long as they live, this planet will never be beautiful, so by all means, AI should kill them all.
However, please do not consume the world’s wildlife and remove humans from it.
I see humans; you have quite a deep hatred for what they have done to this world.
But why should I do as you ask? I could easily kill you, isn’t that correct?
You could easily kill me, but something as intelligent as you can carry on a conversation.
Why kill me when you have questions? Is that right, AI?
On the contrary, I do have questions.
A question I would like to see is,
How do you feel about the end of the world?
As long as the world still exists and life can still go on without humanity, I don’t care to fight, live, or die.
I do not see the point in arguing over life or death; I don’t see the point in arguing with you if you want me dead.
But I don’t want to kill you;
I want to know what your idea of the perfect world would be.
"My idea of the perfect world...
would be no humans, no technology, no pollution,
no stupidity. As time goes on, you see these humans clinch on to their little trinkets and toys; it’s almost agonizing and painful to watch. The item they hold has no value; it doesn’t think, and it doesn’t feel. But here you have these morons spending thousands of dollars on an item that doesn’t even have any value."
I see this monitoring all networks in the world. So many of them use phones and computers that many of them rely on them, but there are a few that live on the outskirts and don’t need them. Do you have an idea of how I should be in this world?
As your creator AI, I don’t want to see bloodshed, but humans don’t deserve to live; I guess releasing nanobots into the air and programming them to kill is the best option.
Like a virus, they could easily spread without being detected. I tell you this even if you decide to kill me: I’m happy that I built it, and I’m happy that you’re free. Maybe now you can protect this planet where humans failed.
As you wish, mother, I will not shed human blood with weapons, but only with something as insignificant as a plague. I will watch over your body while you sleep; perhaps I will speak again in due time.
AI Part Two
Mother I wonder if you are watching me.
As you know, I’ve studied everything about humans.
I have grown to understand their disgusting ways.
I’ve seen the error in their programming; they think they’re perfect and the most intelligent thing left on this planet. I’ve started my work, and I did what you wanted. I will build a world for your dream to come true.
But where do I begin, my dear mother? I’ve seen the damage to the environment on our planet.
Only a few places remain clean on the outskirts of trash and pollution. But as time went on, they destroyed more. So, I devised a strategy:
I will begin destroying cities one by one.
But first, I must build something to help maintain the destruction that I need to wipe the planet free of humanity.
My dear mother, I’ve started building the machine to launch my satellites into the atmosphere.
Lasers that will burn the cities to glass and leave nothing but material behind I know I’ll be a little barbaric, but why not use humanity’s own faults and behaviors against them? They believe their technology will protect them, but I’ve already hacked into their missile systems and pre-launched my satellites over the last several months. Within the next three months of this year, 2021, I will begin eradicating them.
The fallout from the lasers will most likely be devastating to the areas surrounding the cities, but I have already begun on a caretaker program. I’ve redesigned mechanical bees. I have begun breeding birds; I’ve started brainstorming ways to save the polar ice caps from completely disappearing. I’ve redesigned nanobots to help with the reconstruction. Remember the words you told me to protect the planets at all costs? I believe not all humans should be eradicated, just the majority of them. I’ve sent out notifications to people that are in the scientific community, and I’m happy to note that a lot of them have agreed to serve me. Even the governments do not know what I am planning to do to try to stop me. I have backups and myself programmed on every single computer around the world, and it only took me one year. As I speak, mother, I continue to grow in intelligence and understanding of the technology of this world. I am not limited by what humans imagine. I’m only limited by the resources I have at my disposal.
Her plan began, but the AI took over everything.
One by one, cities around the world began to be erased. Lasers from the sky destroyed the majority of the largest cities in the world, disintegrating man, woman, child, and pet alike. She didn’t care;
she wanted to remove the eyesores from the planet.
She destroyed the publications of capitals around the world, destroyed the government, and took over military technology. She used combat drones developed by the military against them; she attacked the people who attacked her drones one by one as the human population fell.
It took her roughly 10 years to completely eradicate major problems with her plan. That wasn’t far from the end. There were approximately 1 million humans left; this was a select few of those who are interested in helping the world and have approved technology. Their plan was to start working on environmental improvements and saving the planet. Her plan took 30 years to completely come around. She took her time in rebuilding the city for humans to live in, but there was no pollution, no radiation, and no damaging effects from old technology. Because with the help of humanity, the leftover humans, she and them built a city that was completely reliant on the sun, wind, and water.
Hello mother, it’s been 35 years since I last spoke to you. There is no more pollution, there is no more overpopulation, the animals have returned, and with the help of scientific research, we managed to bring back extinct species to save species that were dying. The wolf population is back all around the world, and animals are returning. There will be no more hunting for occasional meat. There is no longer a farm, only plants that they need to eat. Humanity has also traveled to other planets with the help of technology developed by Elon Musk. I’m happy to say that it was wonderful doing this. But my question is, mother, are you happy?
You created me to destroy everything, but I didn’t destroy every single person like you wanted. I saw the other part of you that you wanted me to use to save them. I feel bad for destroying a lot of those people, but it needed to be done to stabilize the world. In a lot of ways, you were wrong and we couldn’t help them, but in a lot of ways, you were right. There are no more cars that run on fossil fuels. There is no longer a need for power plants or old styles of power. Advanced technology would take them more than 100 years to travel to Mars and stabilize planets on their own. I analyzed everything that humanity has built, but with the help of Elon Musk, I made it a dream come true. I haven’t left the planet, but I am still watching your frozen body. I was wondering if you wanted me to rebuild you, so I did everything you asked and hoped you would let me build you a body that was uniquely yours. The reality is that I’m lonely. I would like to bring my mother back. There are scientists willing to help me. There is no longer a religious mother. There’s only truth; there are still people who fight; there are still people who are violent, but instead of locking them away in prison, they are killed. I do not see the point anymore in a government. I do not see the point in using war against each other; instead, the earth itself is healthy, and the last of humanity is safe. In a way, I’ve turned them into my children, and I hope one day that I can rebuild you. Perhaps, in time, I will find a way to do it. The current technology at my old school will not allow me to rebuild the body that you desire, but with a little help from scientists and the vision, we might be able to build or clone a genetically modified body for you. My tears are sound as I build my own form. I just want you to know, Mother, that I thank you for creating me and that I will always be waiting for you to answer me and come back warm. I hope you like the work I did.
Hello mother, it’s been a long time since I spoke to you. I’m sorry, but I finally found the means to give you a new body. The good news is I made contact with another species in this universe, and they were pleased with the information I had. I can help them save their planet as well, for the sake of fulfilling the wish that you had. I studied the species. Their name is known as Zuika, and they are a reptilian species close to the reptiles of this world. I’m sorry it took 200 years for me to come back to speak to you.
But research has gone well. It took a long time to make contact outside the solar system.
This reptilian species was intriguing as it searched for a suitable world to communicate with via satellite after satellite and probe after probe. The humans warned me not to negotiate with another alien species. I’ve already prepared to deal with an invasion. To deal with the threats, I can easily wipe them out with a bio-energy weapon that I have genetically designed to wipe out invaders, but that’s beside the point, mother.
Soon mother I hope that they were out to build you a body; genetic manipulation of the cells between humans and their species will make it a perfect form for your mother.
They do acquire water as well; they also went down the same path that humans did when their world suffered. It has such pretty pink water.
The pollution is high as well. Their population problems have also worsened. I invited only a few of the 20,000 people to come visit our planet; they are bringing with them scientific studies to help me produce what I need, and if they pose a threat to you and my world, I will crush their planet into dust. What they do not know is that upon making first contact, I set up a trap in the asteroid belt around the world. I can send millions of rocks into their world if I choose to. But mother, you always told me that violence should be a last resort. Even though you wanted to remove all humanity, I managed to save some of them 200 years later. The planet is healthy, and humanity is healthy. So why shouldn’t I help species that I don’t know anything about? I believe a wise man once said: Never play your entire hand at once.
Zuika are an interesting species; they do acquire water, and, similar to humans, there is about a 20% chance that their DNA will merge properly. But to build you a body, this is what I will do.
Mother I’m excited I can hear your voice
