About this ebook

Deacon Stone is the worst kind of monster. One who fools the world while wrapped in a five-thousand-dollar suit. Holding me hostage is nothing to him. Neither is threatening my life or my father's if he doesn't get what he wants. But what about when what he wants is me? I should hate the man. I should despise every fiber of his being and fight to escape. Yet the longer I spend I with my captor, the harder it becomes to deny the truth. I'm more than just Deacon's captive. And he's becoming my everything.

You like that, don’t you? Yeah, you like that... I had a fistful of the woman’s hair in one hand, my other hand on the small of her back as I took her from behind. She was just a random blonde to me, and at the moment, I didn’t even remember her name.

Nor, did I care what it was.

I had picked her up at a bar the night before, and I was getting in another fuck before she left. I couldn’t pass up that tight of a pussy without doing her over again, that was for damn sure.

Yeah, give it to me, give it to me, she gasped. You feel amazing!

I want you to scream my name, I told her. Scream it loud when you cum.

Oh, Deacon! Deacon! she gasped before I pushed her face first into the pillow. I would give the orders, but that didn’t always mean I would let her carry them out before I took over once more. That was just the way I did things, and I wasn’t ashamed of it.

There was a quick knock at the door before it opened, and Gabriel walked in. My half brother only a year younger than myself, Gabriel was one of the boys who wasn’t afraid to carry out the family’s dirty work, and I loved him for it.

I was busy in the moment, but I wasn’t going to leave him waiting long. The girl had climaxed, which I felt was a genuine favor to her. I didn’t always get off the women I was with, and if she did happen to cum after the night we had together, that was just another bonus for her.

I grabbed her hips, pulling her into me as I thrust into her hard and fast, giving her my cock while she screamed out again. She clearly didn’t care that my brother had walked into the room, and I didn’t, either. It wasn’t that we were close by any means, but I didn’t give a fuck who saw me when I had a hot woman in bed with me.

I finished inside her, but I wasn’t going to waste any time with cuddling or anything like that. I had work to do, and if Gabriel was back, that had to mean he had at least held up his end of the bargain.

Get out, I said. Grab your shit and get out. One of the maids will show you to the door.

I had a great time last night, she tried, but she was met with nothing more than a cold nod. I wasn’t going to call her, so there was no need to ask for her number, and I wasn’t one to make small talk with a woman who wasn’t anything more to me than a lay.

Don’t forget any of your shit, or you’re not going to get it back, I said. She didn’t say anything as she grabbed her clothes and lingerie off the floor, struggling to get into the dress she had been wearing the night before. I didn’t bother with her, getting my own clothes on before turning to my brother.

We both waited for the woman to finish getting dressed and slink out of the room before I turned to him. Did you get the package? I asked.

Wasn’t the easiest thing you’ve ever asked me to do, but I got it, he said, rubbing his hands together. It was a bit of a thrill, this one, but it’s safe and sound now, no thanks to your help.

That’s why I asked you to take care of it for me, I told him. I knew you’d be able to get it without fucking it up.

Well, I did that alright, but how do you know this is going to work? he asked.

Trust me, this isn’t the first time I’ve had to resort to such measures to get what I wanted out of someone. But with the right attitude, you really can get just about anything, I laughed. All I had to do was find the right connections, which wasn’t hard with what we had to work with.

You’re the one who brought this all together, he shrugged. I just made sure you had all the moving parts.

And, that’s why I love working with you, I told him. The Stones are going to rise to the top once more, that’s for sure.

Since when weren’t we at the top? Gabriel laughed. You say that as though we have something we need to win back from someone, but I’m telling you, we’ve been there the entire time.

You know what I mean, I told him. We might have run into something that needs fixing, but with this under control, we’re not going to have an issue getting what we want out of the situation.

I hope you’re right, he said. Because that was a royal pain in the ass to pull off without getting the law involved, and I don’t really want to deal with another lawsuit right now.

If we play our cards right, we’re never going to have to deal with them again, I said. You know they all but turn a blind eye to what we’re doing, anyway.

True, but still... The last thing I want to deal with is a lawsuit on top of the other shit I have going on, he said with a shake of his head. Do you need anything else from me?

No, I told him. That was really the hardest part of this entire thing, and I can take it from here.

Good, he said. I’ll expect the tip to be in my account sooner, rather than later, if you know what I mean?

You’ll get your money, not that you need it, I said. You have more than you know what to do with already.

Doesn’t hurt to expand the bank accounts, you know that as well as anyone, he said. Hence you’re going through with this crazy plan in the first place.

It’s more than just getting more money, I told him. This is about proving a point.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, he said. Call me and let me know how it goes.

I’m not going to have answers for you today, I laughed. This is going to take at least a few days, if not longer.

You’ve got nothing but time on your hands to do it, he said. You might as well make sure you get it done right. You don’t need to be dealing with the law, either.

He wouldn’t dare call the cops with what he’s in, I said. You go for the guys who are already in a lot of shit themselves when you pull off this sort of thing. It ensures they aren’t going to get out of hand with their end of things.

He nodded. He knew all too well what I was talking about, but he didn’t have the time to stand around and discuss all the details with me. I had what I wanted, and it was time to get the plan in motion. Push it further into motion, rather, since getting the girl was the first step in the entire process.

I had to admit, I was impressed with how quickly he was able to pull it off. Sure, my brother was good at what he did, but I didn’t think he was going to be that fast. I had no doubt he was going to pull it off with flying colors, but to do it in just a couple days? Well, that was the sort of man I was glad to have on my side.

Once I was alone, I took a deep breath and looked in the mirror. We finally had the girl, and now it was time to pull her father into the mix. He was the one I really wanted – the one with what I needed. But, in order to get what I wanted out of him, I was going to have to use the one thing he had: the one thing he should value above all else in life.

I had to have his daughter. And with her safely locked away, she wasn’t going anywhere. I could set up the ransom and get in contact with the old man, making sure he knew how dangerous this was. I wasn’t playing around. I wasn’t joking.

He better cooperate, or he was going to find out the hard way there wasn’t anyone who was above the lesson. I would kill this girl if I had to.

Hell, I might just kill her, anyway.

She wasn’t anything more than a pawn to me. A means to an end. And her father? Well, he was that end.

It was just a matter of letting him know who he was dealing with.

I woke in a cool, dark room. It had high ceilings and a fan gently blowing, and I found myself lying on a couch. The room appeared to be some sort of library or something. There were books lining shelves on the wall, and a fireplace, though it had a locked grate over the front.

A wave of nausea swept over me, and the grogginess in my head told me that I must have been drugged. Panic started to seize me, but I fought to remain calm as I tried to remember what was going on before I blacked out. I had been home, I remembered that much, and it had been night.

I vaguely remembered opening my eyes to find a man standing over me, looking down and studying my face. He had a long, jagged scar on his cheek, and his eyes were very dark. Almost everything I could remember about him was that he was dark and brooding.

It had been so surreal in the heat of the moment, I wasn’t even sure it was really happening. I was almost convinced it was a dream, but then everything went black as he put his hand over my face. I didn’t remember struggling, but now, I worried I had been raped.

With a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I checked myself, but I wasn’t sore, and there didn’t appear to be any sort of injuries down there, so I breathed a sigh of relief. There was that at least, but why would that man kidnap me? I wondered. I didn’t have any enemies that I knew of, and certainly none who would go to such great lengths.

This was bound to end in me calling the cops when I got out of here – if I got out of here. The wave of panic washed over me again, and I took a deep breath. If I was going to get out of this room, I was going to have to remain calm above all else.

I rose from the couch and quickly examined the room. Though I didn’t have much hope of it working, I tried the door first. Of course, it was locked. Then, I tried the shutters over the windows. But, they were locked from the outside, and I couldn’t get any of them open.

It was part of the reason why the room was so dark, but I didn’t see any way I could make it lighter. Everything was locked up or out of reach, even if I were to try to climb. If I was going to get out of here, I was going to have to be smart about it.

I would likely have to reason with my captors. Whoever they were.

There was one window shutter that wasn’t as tight as the others, so I focused my attention on that. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get through the window once I got it open, but I was going to do my best. I had to do something, after all. I wasn’t going to just sit around and wait for whoever it was to come after me.

Just by looking around the room, I could see I was in the home of someone wealthy. But, that didn’t give me much to go on. There were hundreds if not thousands of wealthy people in New York, and I couldn’t even begin to imagine who would have me.

    Or why.

The door opened, and my initial reaction was to hide. But, I was caught at the window as two men walked in. I recognized one immediately as the guy who had kidnapped me the night before. The other, though it was obvious the two men were related, only seemed somewhat familiar.

I knew I had seen his face somewhere, but I couldn’t place him, and I didn’t have time to think about it before he walked over to me. He was checking me out with each step, while his brother stood near the door, his arms folded over his chest. He was watching the whole thing, but he was the least of my concerns.

I wasn’t sure what this man was going to do to me, but I forced myself to hold my ground as best as I could. If he wanted to hurt me, he was going to whether I ran or not. Perhaps there was a chance I might get some of his respect if I were to show him I wasn’t afraid.

    I sure hoped so.

Ariana, he said with a cold, blunt stare. I was shocked he knew my name. My name is Deacon Stone, but I’m sure that doesn’t mean much to you right now. You’re probably wondering why you are here.

Yes. My voice came out softer, more scared than I wanted it to. I wanted to appear brave, but I was clearly terrified of this man and his brother – and the situation.

You are here to make sure your father does as he’s told, he replied, his expression unchanging.

I’m here because of my dad? I asked. What did he do – or didn’t he do that you want him to?

I’m not going to be the villain you see in the movies, he laughed. The laugh was cold and dry, like he forced it almost. "I’m not going to walk in and explain my entire plan for you to sit here and digest. But, you should probably know you’re going to be here for a while. Depending on your father, it could be quite some time. We’re going to do our best to hurry him along, as you can imagine,
