The Map
The Shire of Here and There is surrounded by the Sea of Sixes and Sevens to the east. To the north you will stumble upon Wallop Woods. It is in the Dark Side of these woods that MarshMallow and her Sour Drops gang wander practicing their tricks, spells and keeping a lookout for people to bamboozle.
Those walking inland will probably stumble upon the small hamlet of Nowhere Near There which is a short distance from Teapot Park so called because fairies and pixies were said to visit the park on warm summer nights to daintily sip cups of dandelion tea, munch on goblin buns, Fabulous cakes and do whatever fairies and pixies get up to when they are partying.
Tab Holes had a long association with pirates and smugglers who hid their ill gotten gains in this area to keep them safe from the Customs Officers. There are said to be underground tunnels leading from here to Smugglers Cove.
Anyone lucky enough to be invited on a whistle stop tour of the shire should be certain to keep an eye open for the Spelling School. In her youth a proud MarshMallow was elected to the dizzying height of head girl when she promised to release the headmaster, 'Sir Frivolity Diggle' after glueing him to the entrance mat. Ezra Pots also attended this seat of learning. It is in this seat of learning that he first started practising making smells. It is rumoured that on cold and lonely nights anyone working there may get a ghostly waft of one of Ezra's whiffs, a kind of blast from the past!
Even though others think that Crabby was far too sensible to have ever been young, he insists that when he was a nipper he realized that he was born to be the boss, if only to stop his pals from being Silly Shellies and wandering hither and thither without direction. Inventor, doodler extraordinaire, plotter and planner and an all round super duper chap. Crabby also believes that he has the answer to questions which have not yet been thought of.
When he Doodles he Thinks and
When he Thinks he Doodles.
According to Crabby the key to being successful and happy is lots and lots of hard work, especially when he instructs his pals to do it!
His inventions include the Land Yacht, the Wave Water Wheel (or the www, as it is commonly called,) the Glider, Message Board, Sundial Clock, Instruction Board, a Drill, ShellieScope, the Snapper (a device similar to a camera) ShelliePhone, Whiz Board, to name a few.
Crabby's hobbies include:
‘Tiddly Tidying the beach, cleaning up the debris and making sure that what can be recycled is recycled. All material which could be harmful to creatures living along the shore or in the sea is removed, especially plastic straws, bags, bottles, cans, broken beach toys.
And most IMPORTANT of ALL! Doodling.
Growing vegetables, flowers and planting bee friendly plants such as bluebells and pussy willows.
Not one to ever be lost for words Crabby has a saying for most occasions:
––––––––
‘You silly Shellies’
‘It’s only trickery and flimflam’
‘Do you think you should be singing at a time like this?’
‘I really must make myself heard more’
‘Look lively and follow that glider’
'No doing without doodling and no doodling without doing'
Crabby has a doodle for every occasion. So if ever you feel that you are going round and round in circles, this doodle is just for you.
––––––––
Melo spends her free time wandering hither and thither along the Bay to investigate reports of fairies, goblins, pixies, wizards, witches and lots lots more searching for stones of the moon.
She is a member of Poppy and Lupins Frolic or Goose club (FOG for short.)
Crabby relies on Melo to gather in the bubbles from the Fountain of Ifs and Shoulds. She is The Shellies chief knotter and is responsible for tying the knots on Barnacles raft, the land yacht, baskets on the hatch and Rainbows glider
Her hobbies include:
Music Making
Listening to stories from shells
Chatting like an excited sparrow
Creating sea glass kaleidoscopes
Collecting flotsam and jetsam.

Rainbow is the life and soul of the beach, delighting all with her songs , stories and frizzy attitude. Rainbow
