About this ebook

Glimpses: That Which Has Been, Shall Be Again depicts a powerful, spiritual connection between two soulmates, one living and one dead (as humanly defined). During our relationship on earth, Mr. C. was the runner while I remained the chaser. I never caught him. Thirty-four years later I learned that he had transitioned from earth's realm. One year later his spirit became the chaser in my life and I didn't reject him, even in death. Glimpses was born from vivid, persistent dreams or "snapshots" of our future lives together. It became my assignment to rewrite our love story. Be enlightened.

Glimpses is dedicated to my three children: Roderick, Katencia, and Aubrey. Although it's structured on the premise of revelatory knowledge about the future, your places in my life are very much a part of that future. I pray that you are enjoying this journey called life together with me as much as I am; choose me again.

Secondly, Glimpses is dedicated to the memory of Carl Maurice Neasley. Although he left this earthly realm I believe, prematurely, he came back to let me know that he did love me. Our two worlds were allowed to silently and gently collide together to express and embrace their knowledge of the truth. An aborted love story has been reignited, reborn, and rewritten.

Thirdly, Glimpses is dedicated to those whose soulmate (twin flame) has transitioned to the spirit realm and you feel as though all hopes of communicating with them are gone. Nothing can be farther from the truth! When you think or dream about them, just know that they are also thinking of you! And with time, they will reach out, but only when you are mentally ready; they don't want to spook you.

I've been looking for pieces of you everywhere I go and in the eyes of everyone I've met. Until I decided to look within and I found you in my heart. You left a part of you in my soul.

    —Danisile Tlhoaele

    Introduction

Glimpses: What Has Been Shall Be Again depicts true events that occurred after I sent a friend request to an ex-boyfriend who I loved many years ago. Much to my dismay, I learned that he had transitioned from earth's realm eleven months and six days shy of my sending the friend request. On August 12, 2017, a hummingbird showed up close and personal as I sat outside on the deck. The bird faced me, chirping as though it had something important to say. I Never expected to see a hummingbird show up face-to-face with me; startled, I swatted at the bird. It later dawned on me that the bird was a spirit messenger from Carl. The 1968 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight that he owned had an emblem of a silver bird perched on the hood.

That day would be the beginning of many signs that his spirit was making contact with me. I dreamed about him constantly. My life would never be the same once I learned that he did love me. I could hear the sounds of his voice echoing within me. One day, I realized that the energy that I was experiencing was twin-flame energy entering my presence. There were constant signs that he was around. For example, I found feathers, coins, and familiar songs that came to mind. However, the dreams unraveled the truth about reincarnation/incarnation. The dreams foretold our future. I learned that the one thing we can carry over from life to life is love and relationships. Over the course of five years, I have learned that you can't lose what is already yours. People never really die. They leave their bodies. They end their physical existence to continue their spiritual journeys in another form. I extend to you my beloved readers a sneak preview of back to our future! Enjoy.

A person that has entered the realm of existence that we call death is never beyond our love. Your remembrance of them offers them victory over the thing called death. Just for today, be devoted to being a living reflection of the dreams and love you shared with someone who passed on. Today, I'm devoted to living my life as a demonstration of how deeply I have been touched and loved by those who have changed the form of their lives!

    Party with a Purpose

Friday had come at long last. Marie stared at her watch as though she was trying to force the long hand by her thoughts to move to the twelve position. It had been a long week, and she was anxious to just get home and curl up in her bed with a box of her favorite chocolates and watch reruns of her favorite Hallmark movies. Just as Marie was logging off her computer, her phone rang. It was one of her childhood best friends and classmate, Ainsley.

Girl, you know there's gonna be a party tonight for the basketball players at Willie's Place in Arkadelphia? You wanna come with us? Ainsley asked, not even seeming to take a breath in between her words.

First of all, I don't know anything about Willie's Place in Arkadelphia, and, girl, I ain't interested in no basketball! Marie hurled back at her.

Ahh come on, Marie, it'll be fun! Regina and I are going, and we want you to go with us. You never do anything but work and go to church. Please…we're gonna have fun.

Marie sighed and looked at her watch. It was now 4:05 p.m., and she was anxious to leave work and start her weekend. Okay, I'll go. What time are you picking me up?

Ainsley was so excited to hear a yes from Marie. We'll be at your house around seven. The party starts at eight.

Okay, I'll be ready, Marie said, sighing again and thinking, There goes my Friday night with me, myself, and I.

Marie slid back piece after piece of clothing in her closet, trying to find something cute to wear. It wasn't a hard decision to make; she really didn't want to go in the first place. After maybe thirty minutes of pondering about this, that, and the other, Marie decided on a pair of skinny jeans with four-inch zippers at the bottom going up the sides. Marie thought to herself, These jeans will go perfectly with my navy-and-gold pumps and that gold Elizabeth Taylor-styled ruffled blouse. Marie swept the sides of her hair up and left her curly bangs to rest gracefully on her forehead. She decided to let her hair at the back hang loose and free on her shoulders. That particular hairstyle was vintage and paired well with jeans and heels. She chose the perfect earrings to accent both sides of her face that was free of the accompaniment of her swept-up hair. Marie stared at her reflection in the mirror. She couldn't help but humbly notice just how attractive she really was! Ainsley and Regina arrived at Marie's house around seven twenty. They were already geeked about the party and even more because Marie had decided to come along with them.

Umm, look at you, Ms. Thang, Regina said teasingly to Marie. Watch out now, you might catch tonight, she continued, stirring laughter from Ainsley.

Marie smiled and quickly changed the subject. How long are we gonna be in Arkadelphia?

Why? What else you got going on tonight? Ainsley asked, staring playfully at Regina and then peering through her rearview mirror at Marie in the back seat.

Nothing, I just don't wanna be out too late, Marie replied.

If you want to, we can leave around nine thirty, Ainsley responded, sounding not too sure about her own answer. Wildflower by New Birth came on the car radio, and that shut down all conversation. The girls started singing along with New Birth. Even Marie chimed in on that!

Arkadelphia was a college town, and it was no surprise that the weekends were always ablaze with college kids looking to get their party on. Besides, there were only two months left until the end of the school term, and the Herndon Rockets had just ended their season with an impressive 28-5 record. The only reason Marie knew that much was because the last ten minutes or so of Ainsley and Regina's conversation during the twenty-seven-minute ride from Malvern to Arkadelphia was centered around the Herndon Rockets and the fine basketball players on the team. Regina and Ainsley had graduated from Herndon last year, and they felt that it was their duty as alumni to stay abreast of all the sports activities going on at the college. However, Marie could care less about sports; but to be truthful about the matter, she did like basketball more than any other sports. It was close to eight o'clock when they arrived at Willie's Place. There was already a crowd standing outside the club. The music was hype, and they could see through the front windows that the party had taken off and the partygoers were already on the dance floor. Marie's heart pounded as they got out of the car and headed for the club's entrance. Regina recognized one of her sorority sisters from last year, and they started a conversation as Ainsley and Marie perused the crowd with eagle's eyes while waiting for Regina and the girl to end their conversation.

Once inside, Marie's heart pounded even faster; clubbing was not her scene at all, and she didn't know how to handle people staring at her. About fifteen minutes later, Ainsley smiled teasingly and whispered to Marie while Regina listened in, Don't turn around and look, but Maurice Nixon is looking at you so hard, it's like he's trying to find out what you had for breakfast this morning.

Who is Maurice Nixon? Marie asked, somewhat annoyed.

Ainsley replied, Only the finest man on the basketball team and at Herndon, if you wanna know the truth.

Regina complied with Ainsley's reply, He is that! And the both of them laughed. Marie failed to see the humor in the conversation but did as Ainsley had suggested and didn't look around.

After a split second or so, Marie asked, Is he still staring? And how do you know he's staring at me?

Girl, he is staring at you! I can tell that he is! Marie wanted so badly to turn around to make sure that Ainsley was telling the truth. But before anyone could make a move, Maurice Nixon walked over and asked Marie to dance with him. The deejay had just announced Love Won't Let Me Wait by Major Harris. Marie's knees felt as though they were about to abandon her, leaving the floor to catch her as she turned to look into Maurice Nixon's face. Marie put forth her hand to him as he led her onto the dance floor. She didn't dare look around at Regina and Ainsley as she and Maurice Nixon slow danced on the dance floor. Marie felt somewhat relieved because Maurice didn't say anything right away; thus, she had time to absorb the shock wave that had just swept over her soul.

Then he spoke, You're not from around here, are you?

Marie looked up at him and tried to speak, and for a nanosecond, she thought, This is the finest man I've ever laid eyes on! And then surprisingly, she was able to actually answer his question. No, I'm from Malvern. My friends invited me to the party. From that point on, the questions began.

    Does your friends attend Herndon?

Actually, they graduated last year, Marie replied.

Maurice Nixon's voice was both mellow and smooth. His thin mustache lined his sexy thick lips, and his honey-brown skin was a perfect tone. By the time the song was nearing the end, Marie's adrenalin was flowing fast but steady. She wanted to look over at Regina and Ainsley, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. The song ended, but the conversation didn't. Maurice occupied Marie on the dance floor long enough to get her name, and then they both walked away and returned to their respective places. Just as Marie had suspected, Ainsley and Regina was staring big time at her and Maurice the whole time. And of course, the teasing began.

Girl, I told you to come with us. You don caught the finest fish in the sea! Ainsley said, laughing and nudging Marie lightly on her shoulder.

Whatever! Marie replied with a bashful grin on her face. Marie was standing in a different position than when she first entered the club, so it wasn't a chore to see Maurice Nixon from where she stood now. When she looked in his direction, he was talking to the deejay, and as soon as he turned to walk away, Marie quickly looked away to keep him from seeing her staring at him!

By the third slow jam, Maurice sensed that Marie knew something was up with the slow jams. They never left the dance floor but paused long enough for Maurice to engage her in some small talk, giving the deejay ample time to spin the next record. Obviously, Maurice had gone beyond the ordinary bounds of what a slow dance with a stranger should be like. He held Marie rather tightly—at least that's what she was thinking. Then without probably realizing that they had just met, Maurice wrapped his strong long arms around her waist and across her upper back. At that point, Marie couldn't help but think, What just happened? The temptation for her to rest her head on his chest was overwhelming. And he smelled so good! Lord, what is happening? Without Marie having to come right out and ask him, Maurice Nixon admitted that he had asked the deejay to play slow jams long enough for him to get acquainted enough with her and to prevent any other guys from asking her to dance. Marie's eyes scanned the room for Ainsley and Regina, and then she spotted Ainsley talking to an old friend at the refreshments table.

The deejay must have observed that Maurice and Marie were having seemingly comfortable conversations. He brought the flow of the music up a notch. The Hustle by Van McCoy pumped the crowd, and everyone took off to the dance floor to line up and do the hustle. Apparently, the stars were lined up for Maurice and Marie that night. They were two of the very few who were not on the dance floor. Regina came and told Marie that she had found a table close to the back of the club. Marie politely asked Maurice if he wanted to join her at the table; of course, he consented. As Maurice sat down at the table, Marie couldn't help but notice that he seemed fascinated by something in her; his stare was pretty intense. Are you enjoying yourself? he asked after probably perceiving that she was a little uncomfortable about him staring.

Yes, I am enjoying myself, she answered, trying not to appear to be too interested in him or his conversation. Marie looked at her watch, which sparked Maurice to ask if time was a factor in her being at the party. Well, I did ask Ainsley how long would we be staying at the party, and she assured me that we would be on the highway by nine thirty.

You have big plans for tomorrow? Maurice asked.

No, just some housework and a lot of rest, Marie replied, managing a pleasant smile. It was almost nine fifteen, and Ainsley nor Regina had returned to their table. It was easy for them to mingle with the crowd because they knew a lot of the people at the party.

It was exactly nine thirty when Ainsley and Regina returned to their table. Maurice shot a quick glance at Marie as if he was telepathically communicating to her to stay a while longer. You ready, lady? Ainsley asked, trying to hide the faint, teasing smile on her face.

Yeah, I guess so, answered Marie, sensing Ainsley's subtle teasing. As she got up from the table, Maurice asked if he could walk her to the car. Sure.

Regina and Ainsley got into the car but not before Ainsley urged Marie to Take your time, we ain't in no hurry.

May I call you sometime? Maurice asked, looking at Marie as though he really wanted to ask her for a kiss.

Sure, she replied. Marie retrieved a piece of paper from her purse and wrote her telephone number on it and handed it to Maurice. Strangely enough, she felt the urge that a slight peck on the cheek wouldn't be a bad idea. But as soon as she handed him the slip of paper bearing her phone number, she walked to the back passenger side of the car, and Maurice opened the door for her to get in.

Listen, it was a pleasure meeting you, Maurice said as he held open the door. When he closed the door, Ainsley started the engine, but he didn't walk away just yet.

Marie rolled down the window slightly and said, It was a pleasure meeting you too. Ainsley drove away, and Marie turned around to get one more look at Maurice Nixon. All the way to Malvern, Ainsley and Regina congratulated Marie for catching the finest fish in the sea. Marie cheerfully joined in with the laughter; she didn't mind at all that they were going on and on about how she had possibly scored high. Ainsley abruptly changed the subject by sharing with Marie and Regina that one of Maurice's ex-girlfriends was at the party.

How do you know that? Marie asked, puzzled by Ainsley being privy to that information.

One of the cheerleaders is related to my soror, Joyce, and she was telling me that Maurice and the girl had dated for a while.

Was that the girl you were talking to with the long ponytail? Marie asked.

Yeah, that was Joyce. That conversation opened a floodgate of questions.

What else did she say? Marie asked, frowning just a little.

"That's all. They broke up over four months ago. I think that's
