Thank you very much for giving this title a try, as this is the first book of a series, it's important to get reviews if you're willing (after you've read the book anyway).
I have no idea how many books I will have in this series, with these characters, but I have at least four in the queue to introduce the primary harem characters.
Once again, thank you very much for giving this fun book a try.
I used AI language model assistance to help co-write and add greater description to certain things, which also allowed me to produce this book quicker than my normal.
Encounter with an Alluring Rogue
Tahlia traveled through the bustling city, her hooded cloak obscuring her face as she made her way towards the marketplace. The sounds and smells of the city filled her senses, but they focused her mind on her goal. She was searching for others who would accept her for who she truly is, someone who would love her for her unorthodox beliefs in polyamorous girl-love.
Despite her reputation as the most skilled mages in the land, Tahlia felt like a lonesome figure, isolated by her beliefs, she left her last town as the Order moved in, understanding that if she was spotted engaging with another woman in a less than a friendly manner, they would find her and send her to a re-education camp.
As she walked, her thoughts drifted to the fear of being shunned by society if she revealed her genuine desires. But her determination to find true love outweighed her fears.
She was standing by a merchant stand, looking over the various trinkets. Some of them looked interesting, and she could feel a bit of magical power coming from a few of the items. She picked up a rough cut emerald crystal, the green and vibrant as her own eyes were when she looked in the mirror.
I see you have quite the discerning eye.
The vendor of the stall said to her.
Oh, yes, thank you very much, this item. Do you know much about it?
Tahlia asked.
Sadly, I don’t. I know there’s magic inside that crystal, but that’s about it. I have lots of people coming through and many of them see me and offload their stuff.
Oh, I’m sorry, how much?
The vendor eyed Tahlia, taking in her slender build, toned arms and flirty pelvic curtain styled outfit with soft purple tones mixed with elegant embroidery, and revealing her smooth toned thighs.
The vendor thought for a moment about how much she could probably scam from this woman and looked into the piercing green eyes, full of confidence with a tint of fear. For what, she couldn’t know. She looked down at her scribbled papers for the item Tahlia held. She had bought it for a few silvers so she could easily get double that from this woman. The way she looked at the item concerned her, though, she probably already knew the value and was seeing what the vendor would say.
I can let it go for, say, fifteen silvers.
Hmm..
Tahlia said and twirled the item in her soft hands. The vendor obviously didn’t know the value, but Tahlia did. The price was more than acceptable, but she’d been around the block a few times and knew the game the vendor was playing. I’m not sure.
Pursing her lips in thought as she continued to twirl the crystal.
The Vendor looked down again at the scribblings and rethought. How about, twelve, that’s the lowest I can go.
Which wasn’t the truth, she could cut that price in half and still make a profit.
Tahlia continued to twirl the item. Sure, that should be fine.
She pushed her hooded cloak to the side, reaching in to grab her coin purse, while showing off the tight corset that kept the china-dress style robe in check, displaying her heavy chest and deposited a handful of silver in the woman’s hand.
Thank you for your business.
The vendor said as Tahlia pocketed the emerald.
As she was turning away to continue, a figure emerged from behind a cart and quickly sniped the coin-purse out of Tahlia’s hand.
Tahlia gave chase, avoiding obstacles like woven baskets and overturned barrels as the thief tried to increase the distance. It had been a while since she’d had to chase after anyone and she admired the tenacity of the rogue. But with a thought, not needing to resort to using her wand as a focus, she increased her agility to match the thieves and kept a close eye on the person running away.
As the cloak flowed with the wind, she noticed the person appeared to be a woman, as she jumped and vaulted several items as if they were child’s play and quickly looked back toward Tahlia, shoulder length dark hair flipping in the wind and noticing that she was still being pursued. She looked around for escape potentials and spotted an alleyway and darted into it.
Unfortunately, the woman wasn’t familiar with this alleyway and ended up in a dead end. She twirled to the sound of clapping and noticed Tahlia clapping and walking towards her. She looked around, noticing no way of escape, and dropped into a fighting stance, fists clenched.
Tahlia continued to clap for a couple of seconds, then stopped and rested her arms against each other below her sizable rack. The sides of her marvelous globes peaking out from the china dress style robe.
That was fun, thank you very much. It has been a while since I’ve had to chase someone.
Light filtered from above, casting the alley in partial shadow and a soft shadow fell around their feet.
Who are you?
The woman thief asked, relaxing slightly as Tahlia carefully kept her distance.
I’m Tahlia. Maybe you’ve heard of me?
The woman thought about the name. She had heard something about it. Maybe.
Oh wonderful, tell me all about what you heard?
The woman blinked, confused suddenly at the situation. Seriously? Wait, are you jus’ stalling for time until the guards git here?
Oh no, not at all. I didn’t call the guards, though I’m not sure if others have.
So you are just stalling?
With another thought, a wave pulsed out from her and everything became a little more silent.
What did ya just do?
Oh that, I just put up a stealth barrier. If guards come this way, they won’t see us and hopefully move on.
What? Why did you do that? Wait, are you one of those sadists that git off on raping and murdering women?
Oh, heaven’s no, does that happen often here?
No more than other places I suspect wouldn’t know much about that, though.
The woman relaxed a little more. So what’s yer deal?
"Well, first, it would probably be polite to exchange names. I already told you mine, so I believe it’s
