Peletia: Power Crystals
()
About this ebook
The story begins in another world, following our main character Zurry. Zurry's happy and accepting of others, including the princess of the planet, Maylean, who goes to school. There the two meet, and the planet's inhabitants soon were in the midst of a civil war. Zurry and many other friends try to find a way to stop the damage by making peace between the outlander city folk who already have bad blood.
Enjoy my story filled with love, adventure, drama, martial arts, and a test of friendship over a whole new world that's different but the same. You may relate with many characters. There are jokes, serious situations, and even sad parts.
Some content might be too much for young readers. Apologies for the long and enduring fights, but reading is harder to understand than watching, as if you watched the fight on TV or in life. I put the moves in and described them as best I can. It's best to view the fight in your head after reading the scene to get the fights in real time, thus, making it an interesting and entertaining read.
Although the book explains a few things, the rest is up to you. You make the story better when viewed in your mind. These beings are of a different planet, so you are the one who can see this world through an entirely different perspective.
Enjoy reading the book and understand that the names may be weird, and they aren't human or correct, and I didn't know Zurry as a human name until later, I admit; but other than that, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Zurry Meets Maylean
In a universe next to the Milky Way called the Nox Gallet, there is a planet called Peletia. There we have many types of technology, all powered by power crystals. There are many crystal colors. Some last longer. Some can contain more energy than others and are more powerful. However, the crystals power almost every piece of technology we have. We get them from Peletia's moon, which is half the size of our planet.
It's in the name, of course. Now to be realistic, this whole planet doesn't know English, but so you can understand the story, that's what you'll be hearing. My name is Zurry. I'm eighteen. This is my planet's story.
*****
Maylean, princess of the palace, was fascinated with the stars, the systems and streams of cosmic light going through space. She was surprised to see that the moon was shrinking. She tried telling everyone to wait for the crystals to grow and form more. No one listened or cared, so she had to get a bunch to conserve. Starlight made the crystals charge, but Peletians just wanted all of it.
As for me, I grew up in the junkyard helping my pops clear some wreckage.
Hey, Zurry, look what I found,
Pops said, holding out an energy sword.
You didn't find that! You bought it. I may have been foolish to think that when I was five, but not when I'm eighteen. Besides, that's way too clean,
I told him.
You want it or not?
Pops asked.
Wait! For…for me? Cool! Awesome!
I said, swinging the sword around.
Happy birthday,
Pops congratulated.
I've read a lot about energy swords. Swing it while pulling the trigger and a laser beam is generated by the energy crystal inside. It blasts a line of energy that the enemy has to dodge. Or they'll get struck.
I may have forgotten to say that there are two warring groups in our planet. They've been against each other for generations. There used to be two worlds that the moon would orbit in the shape of an eight until they collided. There were massive amounts of destruction.
I went to the store with my new sword to trade in old junk art pieces for just a few pieces of golden tokens. They are, actually what I just said—golden! We have gold too. It's amazing how much there is. I went to the counter.
Here again? Sorry to say, but the only thing valuable is that sword you're carrying,
Vesken told me.
Come on, my dad had worked weeks on this art,
I informed.
As for the art, it's not much. Two…three coins at best. Unless…the sword?
Vesken negotiated.
No! This was a present. You rip people off, you know that?
I asked.
Business, my boy. Business,
Vesken said. I walked away.
Then there was someone in the store. He held a semi-automatic laser rifle powered by the blue crystal. Got the loot? We need crystals!
the man informed.
We're all out,
Vesken lied.
You see, if you were not so bad at lying, I might just believe you. Do I have to take it by force?
the man asked in a nice tone although his intention was anything but nice. I pondered that if I saved Vesken, then he'd owe me.
I swung my sword, but the man dodged it fast. I shot the laser out of the sword. It didn't work.
Oh no!
I said.
You wish to take me out, you're going to need more than that relic,
the man said using his sonic knuckles on me. I flew back to the wall, hearing a big whistling sound in my ear, so high-pitched.
They are like brass knuckles, only they shoot a sound wave strong enough to break walls, if close enough. Also, it depends on which crystal it is.
I got up. I saw the two of them talking but couldn't hear them. Then Vesken was shot in the arm. I picked up my sword but wondered why it wouldn't work. Then I realized the crystal wasn't charged. My hearing came back. I got up, but the man was already gone. Darn,
I whispered to myself.
What the heck were you thinking?
Vesken asked rudely.
I was trying to save your life,
I said.
Just go. Get out of my store,
Vesken ordered. I couldn't believe that the selfish old man couldn't bring himself to say thanks. I bet it was not even in his vocabulary.
*****
Maylean was trying to get a spaceship built to go to the crystal moon. She had enough money. But her father, the king, would not let her.
"What are you doing? King Gan asked.
Building a ship to fly myself to the moon and get more crystals before they're all gone,
Maylean told him.
But you can't! You know what I say about space, it's…
…unpredictable and risky so only expendable people use it!
Maylean and the king said simultaneously. Yes, but I'll be careful,
Maylean assured him.
My answer remains. No. I can't lose you. It's my job to keep you safe,
the king denied.

I went to the junkyard. There were more people than just Pops.
Who are you guys?
I asked.
We are from the diamond-class school up in the clouds, and we're collecting new students,
they said.
Well, you're looking in the wrong place.
On the contrary, we're actually looking for you, Zurry. We've seen the security cameras at Vesken's pawnshop. So we think we can teach you a few things. You'll have access to the top weapons and gear and possibly go to space. In a few years.
Is this for real, Pops?
I asked. Pops nodded. All righty then. I'm in.
The bus picked me up at the dump. The buses we had could actually fly. Also, they were not called buses. I got on, and the first three rows were with students who didn't want me to sit with them. They blocked the seats. They all saw me come from the dump. I finally saw a masked person not covering any spots.
Could I sit here?
I asked.
Sure,
the person said.
The floating school hovered over water, in case it fell, which no one believed it could. Of course, everything that had weight could fall. And not just that. It would sink. There was a huge crystal under the school grounds, which was bigger than the building. It had our star shining on it, so it was constantly charging. You would call it sunlight. But our star had no other name than our star. Therefore, I'd just call it starlight.
We landed on the premises. I got off. A boy tripped me. See you next fall, Rat Boy!
From that point on, I knew he was a bully. Little did he know, so was I. I tried punching back, but he turned me around, then put me in an arm lock. Not choking point. He was stronger though.
Let go!
I hollered.
Aww! Little Rat Boy is getting feisty,
the bully teased.
Let…him…go!
the masked figure commanded.
Or what?
the bully asked.
Or you'll get beaten by someone smaller than you,
the masked figure foretold. Three boys laughed. The masked figure did a backflip kick, and the bully went flying. You've done it now!
The bully ran after the masked figure, and then the bully got tripped as the figure went to the side with a foot out. Had enough?
the masked figure asked. Here, I'll give you a free hit!
the figure challenged.
The bully pushed my little defender against the bus. That was a big mistake!
the bully said.
Yeah. For you,
the figure said.
Hey! What's going on here? Get off! Everyone, get to class. Except for you, Mr. Vesken,
the teacher said, breaking up the fight.
It's Retal! Mr. Vesken is my father,
Retal said.
I saw the masked figure in class. We were learning about crystals and the best way to use them. I got all the answers right on the test because I've been doing research on power crystals for years, learning all I
