About this ebook

The circle inside the cover illustration represents the spirit domain which exists within every being.

The 3 points of the inner triangle are lighted, and represent the three spirits that reside within each human domain. They are connected in this triangle by lines which represents sharing and working together cohesively.

The lines from the points in the triangle, (and from each spirit) to the middle of the triangle represent the position of dominance that only one spirit can hold at any moment. The pathway for the one chosen spirit to dominance is this line to the center.

The blue waves and swirls of this pure good-natured domain’s inner background depicts flowing, calming water as “goodness” of the pure good natured domain. It also represents the histories, knowledge and information the three spirits that are assigned to the domain have collected and stored for their being’s later supporting use, information from every event from the beginning of time.

    About the Author

    Miracles and Magic

Miracles and magic are gifts that are made possible only from the realm of the spirits. They are not frequent or common, however. These two phenomena are not nearly as prevalent as they once had been and certainly not as outwardly so. The ways of the world and the containment of the spirits within the being’s domain have changed this. Yet miracles and magic still occur and are still so very important to each human civilization and culture. They renew our faith. They give dominion to the spirits and their natures. They allow for and create hope and continuance even in the roughest and most desperate of situations and times. There is comfort and strength in the hope for a miracle or of magic. Spirits carry the beings’ hopes and faith interwoven into their magical presence.

Miracles and magic can appear together but are not the same. Miracles are the product of one’s hope and faith and are often a last resort of hope. Magic working through the miracle makes it more spectacular and special. A miracle can be without magic and vice versa. Together, they catch the attention of all involved. Both events can stir the world and renew its faith, marvel, and curiosities. The end products from miracles or magic are not always good. As with the spirit ways and depending on the nature of the domain from which magic was conjured, it can be either good or evil. The effect of good magic is generally credited as a miracle. The effect of evil magic is commonly referred to as a curse.

Magic is recognized as significant and memorable by us beings. Yet the more common form is a miracle unaided by magic. Although less spectacular, these have longer-lasting and direct effect on the being’s actions and attitudes. These affect the domain.

All miracles can only be initiated as a special and desired product of a pure spirit’s transfer to another. This means that only the pure and dominant domains of good or evil can conjure up an outward display of spirit-aided change to a being, be it through magic or not, culminating in a miracle or a curse. The miracles aided by magic are called upon by the pure spirit, but magic does not originate directly from these pure spirits.

While transferred within a domain, the pure domain cannot produce external occurrences of magic without help. An additional spirit from the unassigned spirit pool must be called upon by the pure spirit and assigned to the being. This spirit would remain external to the domain, not a member of the targeted domain to initiate a magical occurrence. On the other hand, the pure domain could have called for help from a like-natured guardian spirit from the unassigned pool of spirits. It’s this later approach, of calling out guardianship from the unassigned spirit pool, that occurs more frequently. Both processes only require that the pure spirit validate the need and that the need qualifies for special spirit intervention. It then sends out a calling for help and support from those in the unassigned pool waiting to be reassigned. The calling must then be assessed and answered. If positively received, a spirit will be dispatched as a guardian to the targeted domain in need. Unlike the previous method, a guardian will be internal to its recipient’s domain. If magic is called upon, it will be a second spirit from the unassigned pool that remains external to the domain that will answer the call for magic.

Those spirits called upon from the unassigned pool for acts of magic are external to the domain of those they are called to help. Once the magic is provided, because they are not domiciled, they are free to return to the unassigned pool immediately after their assigned mission is rendered. Those that are called as guardians become a temporary part of the internal domain of their recipient. They join the domain as an adviser, true guardian, and caregiver. They give dominance and advantage to those of the domain of their like nature. They remain until the final purpose of their calling and the destiny placed by the initiating pure spirit are served.

Although internal, the guardian never becomes a permanent part of the original domain; rather, it resides on the outer realms of the domain. Because of its special calling and powers, however, it becomes very involved and uniquely influential within the domain. It is much like the pure spirit that transfers to another’s mixed domain and has special influence over the like spirits of the host domain. It resides only as an influential visitor. A guardian spirit, in some ways, has more liberties than a transferred pure spirit, however. It has the sanctioning from nature’s law and is fully entrusted with a dominating influence over all spirits, both like and unlike, of the assigned domain as if an empowered overseer. It guides and directs its assigned domain in areas of its sanctioned calling. Guardians always serve their natures and their assignments.

It’s the guardian’s answer to the pure spirit’s calling that give it power to enact miracles, curses, and some internal magic as required. It is their reward for giving up their place in waiting in the order of reassignment to a new being’s domain. The pure ones, unlike with any other mix of spirit domain, have a special link and connection with the gatekeeper of the unassigned pool of spirits. This is part of their gift, a gift that helps them shepherd and fulfill the many and more global callings destined upon them.

Each pure domain has the responsibility to search out those of its kind in need of help and to provide them the appropriate attention. If they cannot help these needy ones directly and when deemed appropriately necessary, it is then their responsibility and their entitlement to authorize and summon in an additional spirit’s help from the free and unassigned spirit pool. At the pure one’s discretion and prescription, the calling can be for short-term, unfiltered, and undiluted magic or for longer-term guardianship. The spirit from the unassigned pool will fulfill the prescribed and become the needed medicine. Regardless of the details of a calling, a miraculous event will soon result. Use of magic can produce the more dramatic and sensational effect. The earth’s residing pure spirits cannot begin to match the magical power of the free spirit, certainly not while shielded within the confines of the being and restricted in its capabilities to use direct magic as part of its repertoire. Thus, the calling for one from the unassigned pool in an external capacity to the domain is a perfect and most effective alternative.

In the case of a longer-term guardianship engagement, the guardian remains true and committed to the assigned calling until deemed completed and released by the pure domain of this calling or until the death of either the recipient’s or the assigning pure domain’s being. These last two conditions for releasing the guardian represent a flaw in the design of the guardianship agreement. It is the loophole in the contract, especially in the case where death occurs prematurely to the pure calling spirit’s being. This allows those under its special protection and that of its guardians to again be exposed and unprotected before the needy domain is ready or healed. The effect of a death of one possessing a pure domain can thus be devastating on many others than just the dying being.

Pure good-natured spirits never use their special gifts of transfer or assignment of guardians to gain advantage for themselves. Their callings for miracles, whether of magic or not, are always to help and protect others of their like kind. Their intentions are to promote goodness. Evil spirits, on the other hand, will use their gifts to their advantage. These are called curses or evil magic.

Regardless of type and as special as guardian provided magic and miracles can be, they will always be secondary in the overall effect on the domain contained spirits on the earth to the miracles rendered directly from the pure domains. The greatest gift is the pure spirit’s direct sharing and transfer into another’s domain to provide it with strength, support, and diagnosis and to help them with their problems. In most cases, a pure spirit visitation, without need of special callings to the unassigned pool, is miracle enough. This attention alone often brings relief and cure. In its frequency and effectiveness, it is the miracle of miracles for most. Unfortunately, as the movement around the circle progresses, the existence and availability of a pure domain becomes less. Their ability to serve all needs to all mixed domains is limited to the time and proximity available. When what the pure domain can provide from its allotted time, ability, sporadic transfers, and sharing are not enough and if the criteria deem it justifiable, the powers to call for a guardian is a best alternative.

Miracles are easier to understand, or are they? What signifies a miracle from magic and vice versa? Most confuse one for the other. Miracles affect the targeted being’s domain and its spirits. Magic, on the other hand, affects the non-spirit and the tangible components of the world’s exterior, including human form. Magic comes solely and exclusively from the free spirit, mainly when called for, and without partnership or contribution from any of the three components of the being. It’s an effect. It’s always visual and mysterious. It is entirely of the unbridled forces of the unassigned spirits. Miracles, on the other hand, affect the existing spirits of a domain in need. Miracles become more the cause of the effect. The internally placed guardian, together with the originally assigned spirits of the domain, persuades and influences the mind and body of the being to the desired effect. Miracles and guardians involve the existing being’s spirit team. They are internal and domain centered. Their contribution is not visible, and there are no proofs of it to touch or gather up. Its product is entirely confined to the being and the being’s spirit realm. Whether it’s of magic or a teaming with the existing spirits of a domain, both are driven by and the product of a pure domain’s calling and the assignment issued to unassigned spirits.

So, what then are the factors that determine if it will be magic or a miracle that is called upon by the pure domain? What govern the helping spirits’ actions? How does it all work?

The considerations of the pure domain before calling unassigned help, whether for magic or a miracle, are straightforward. The decision primarily depends on the source of the problem or its stimulus, where it lies. If it’s outside the spirit realm, including that with the mind, the body, or other externals to the being, and if it can be rectified with an immediate and onetime fix, a magic aided solution is best suited. However, if the answer or need lies within the domain or requires longer-term attentions and nurturing, non-magic-aided miracles are the better remedy. Changes to physical or mental flaws and conditions are often most effectively supported by magic. Instances that require change to the attitudes or behavioral aspects, such as the need for spirit nurturing or protection, are best tended by miracles. Both forms of callings will change and support lives and destinies. Magic is more hocus pocus and the more tangible event. It draws the most attention and reaction from those unassociated with the helping event.

Miracles, on the other hand, are also recognized but many times are simply perceived as natural change and most times not unusual events. They are seen differently and noticed to a different degree and with a mix of interpretations. Many times, the perception of a miracle is that of the magic that might accompany it, and perhaps it is in some cases. In others, particularly those not involving external magic, it steals notice that a miracle has occurred. The makeup of magic and miracles is quite different. Some examples might help better understand these differences better.

Sharlene was born without the ability to see. She endured her early childhood years without knowing how her mother, father, or friends appeared. She could imagine them only through a finger’s breadth touch, the pitch and decibel level of their voice, or the electricity emitted from their auras. It left her with much to wonder about. It left her with such unknowns and mysteries. It was an affliction that she often found difficult to cope with, but she kept her true feelings mostly hidden and to herself. She occasionally produced visions in her head of what the world might look like beyond the darkness that insulated her life. Many visions came to her from deep within her domain. But these were only internal imagery. She wondered if they could be relied on as an accurate reflection of reality. Her mind was left puzzled by where these internal images of the outside world had come from and how they had formed. She wished she could answer her many questions.

Sharlene was a good-natured person. She was pleasant and respectful. She helped others when she could, but her blindness limited this to only a few opportunities and mostly involved providing support to others through offerings of encouragement or by doing simple tasks. She attended her neighborhood public school with assistance of a guide dog and often received plenty of assistance from several of her sighted friends. Her books were written in braille. She had a strong command of the assistances special to the blind. She’d learned well how to use and rely on them.

Sharlene was a bright student. All her teachers thought of her as a delight to teach. One such teacher was Becky Turner. Becky got to know Sharlene particularly well. Not only was she her counselor and teacher but she also had transferred to her domain on numerous occasions. Sharlene’s domain was a strong one, made up of two strong good-natured spirits and one of a weak evil nature. The evil one was most disadvantaged of the three by Sharlene’s condition. Its influences and acts of evil and aggressive action were near totally hindered. Because Sharlene’s domain was so predominantly good, it was very comfortable for Becky’s transferred spirit to work within her domain. Each time she transferred; it was a level-setting experience for this envoy. It allowed it to gain a different perspective and appreciation for often overlooked small blessings. But most of all, it allowed it to feel the internal pain and torment of the affliction carried internally within Sharlene’s domain. It cried out for the help to right her misfortune. Sharlene’s being and domain wanted so badly to be like others, to experience the sights of the world. The situation was very saddening. The spirit from Becky’s pure domain decided to call for help from the unassigned pool, to call for magic. The calling was completed and sanctioned. It was answered as Becky suspected it might be.

One night Sharlene stayed home on her own while her parents went out to dinner and a movie. She fell asleep on the sofa, listening to music as tuned in on her specially designed Walkman. The Walkman had just been returned to her earlier that day after it had been lifted by a thief from her school locker. It had the familiar braille settings to help her tune and adjust the channels and the volume. In addition, it had her name in braille, as well as in non-braille, etched into the back. As it turned out, the braille version had been the evidence in the aftermath of the earlier crime that helped determine that the Walkman belonged to Sharlene. It was very unfortunate for the sighted thief who had rubbed out the non-braille name from the back of the Walkman, thinking that this would eliminate ties back to the rightful owner. This thief didn’t know to also eliminate the strange series of bumps and shapes representing the braille name. The thief had claimed the Walkman as being her own, but this was clearly proved a lie. The thief’s name was Roni Talbert. She was surprised by what she’d overlooked. She was caught because of these oversights.

Sharlene was awakened several hours into her slumber by the return of her mother and father from the movie. Sharlene’s mother sat beside her daughter, coaxing her to get up and go to bed. Sharlene, acknowledging her mother’s urgings, grudgingly opened her eyes, expecting to see dark nothingness as usual. Instead, she saw a beautiful creature sitting before her surrounded by hurtful brightness. It frightened her at first glance. She had never seen a human figure before or anything else for that matter. But within a few moments, she knew. It was not another internal image that was tormenting her this time. It was real. She was seeing the world outside of her being for the first time.

This vision before her was attached to the voice she knew well. The voice was that of the woman who set all her worries and troubles at ease. It was the voice that she could always count on and that loved her unconditionally. She looked into her mother’s eyes and studied them. They were so beautiful and loving. It startled her mother. It appeared to her as if Sharlene could see her. She said to Sharlene, Sweetheart, you look at me as if you can see me. Is everything all right? There was a surprised look that filled her mother’s face.

Sharlene began to laugh. Her mother’s reactions were sights she’d never seen before. It was an expression. It was a message she could read without measuring the voice inflections or deciphering the tone. It was a much easier and a truer indicator of effect. Sharlene replied, Mother, I can see you. You are as beautiful as I imagined you would be.

She then turned her face to her father. He stood at the landing of the stairs, entirely stationary. His mouth hung open in shock. He remained that way for at least a few minutes. In his total amazement and even if he doubted, all evidence pointed to the reality that his daughter could now see. Sharlene looked directly at him. She said to him, I can see you both. A wide smile crossed her face, and she giggled girlishly. She spoke again. But these bright lights have got to go. They hurt my eyes. The sights are so amazing. I think I will never want to close my eyes again.

Her father stood near the light switch and turned a bank of the lights off to lessen the brightness of the room. He still could not coax words from his mouth. Instead, Sharlene’s mother chimed in at her daughter’s revelation in a most joyous tone, all the while looking through the ceiling to the heavens above. I believe it’s a miracle that has happened here tonight. It’s truly a miracle. Then she cried. The family joined together and hugged in thanks for their good fortune.

The truth of it was it was not a miracle that had happened to them in this instance. Sharlene’s mother missed the signs. Their good fortune was brought on by magic. The special help that Becky Turner had called came quickly and performed a spirit’s magic. It only took a second. The special provider of help was now gone. Its work was done, quick and certain. Sharlene was the recipient of an act of magic. It was an act on a purely physical component, her eyes. She was given sight. There was no effect on or from her spirits or the domain except to allow it much emotional release in the joy for her partnered component of the being. It was incredible. It was truly an act of miraculous proportion. But instead, it was truly magical.

Sharlene and her parents didn’t know what to think of this marvel that had happened to them. This gift had come as quite a surprise, seemingly instantaneously, and from out of the blue. They couldn’t believe it, but it was. Yet they clutched onto it as permanent and real, afraid that it might later be recalled or dissipate as if a dream. Sharlene’s father suggested that she be examined to be sure that the condition returning her sight to her was permanent. They were concerned because of the pain that she experienced from the light on her corneas. They wanted confirmation that all within her eyes was now normal and working properly.

They drove to the hospital to allow a specialist to examine her and assure them that Sharlene’s sight was indeed restored to normal and that it would be permanent. After the specialist examined her eyes, he questioned, Is it really true that she could not see before tonight? He looked at the three of them, Sharlene on the examining chair and her two parents accompanying her on either side. His gaze was one of a very puzzled man. His science and his reference of fixed facts and knowledge couldn’t make sense of what they had told him. This is very odd. Your eyes are perfectly normal. If what you say is true, this is truly miraculous.

As specialized and as learned as he was in optometry, he must have been ignorant in the classifying of miracles and magic. He also was wrong in his final assessment of the situation. It was not miraculous. It was magic. He, as well as everyone, perceived it as a miracle, but again, it was magic. The spirits knew the difference. They knew the source and origin of the gift. It was an act of unassigned and free spirit magic.

Becky Turner was surprisingly none too emotional about the news that was circulating throughout the school early the next day. The news was that Sharlene’s sight had been miraculously restored. Most at the school were caught up in discussions of how unlikely it seemed to be. Most did not believe it possible. Still others hung on to the hope that it could be true. As the rumor was circulated, everyone perceived it on face value, as a miracle. It was one of the few that any of them could remember ever happening in their neighborhood. Becky simply said to those whom she spoke with, It’s truly magical. Then she’d bob her head up and down a bit. It’s a true blessing of good magic.

Those around her continued their claim that it was a miracle. But they didn’t know what they were saying. They didn’t understand that there was a clear difference between a miracle and magic. Only the caller of the guardians knew the true story for certain. It was a bit of good magic that had come to the neighborhood and performed its calling.

    *     *     *

Justin was a young man who’d always done the right things, always done what was good and just. One day at a gathering with some of his classmates, a drug was slipped into his unprotected soda. He was unaware of this and eventually revisited the soda and drank it. The dosage of the poison was such that Justin remained under its control for quite some time. The inflicting pranksters were concerned over what they’d done when he did not come down from his high by the end of the evening. But instead of helping him, they took this as an opportunity to further exploit, embarrass, and ridicule him. They stripped him down to his underwear and painted him with red and yellow paint across his chest to read, Teachers suck. They then drove him to a selected apartment building, tied his legs tightly together with rope, and dangled him head down from the third-story banister over the ledge and facing a second-floor apartment. He hung there strategically placed just outside one apartment’s door. One from the group of his captors pressed the doorbell to this second-floor apartment and locked it in place with a straight pin to assure the occupant’s attention. The apartment that Justin hung in front of belonged to his teacher, Ms. Turner.

When Becky opened the door, she saw the near-naked young man suspended upside down and before her. She was initially engulfed in fear and surprise. She read the offensive and threatening message painted in red across his chest. She released an involuntary scream as a reaction before she slammed the door shut and bolted the lock. The doorbell continued to ring, and she knew her tormentors were still outside. She went to the phone and called the police. To the dispatcher on the other end, it was clear from the choppiness of Becky’s voice and the noise of the continuous bell in the background that a disturbance had been caused and a patrol car should be summoned quickly. The call for help was placed to the nearest squad car in the vicinity.

Becky’s initial shrill scream had penetrated the control that the drug was holding over Justin. He came to his senses, only to realize that he was half naked and hanging upside down. He heard the police sirens that seemed to be moving toward this location. He sensed that he was the focus of their attention. He realized things even more basic. His feet were tied, and he hovered dangerously over the ledge of the apartment’s walkways. His head hurt from the rush of blood to it. As he further assessed his situation, he realized that he hung in front of a door from which his teacher had appeared from only moments earlier. He was covered in paint. He deciphered the letters one by one. They formed the message Teachers suck. He’d been viciously turned into a human billboard. It dawned on him that he’d been taken advantage of.

Somewhere between his spirits and the connection to his being, a complete void was created. Its cause was the moment, the situation, his complete embarrassment, and shame. The being went limp, and the mind went blank. He just hung there helpless and exposed. Those watching the scene thought it was the effect of the blood flowing to his head. Justin’s being, on the other hand, knew it was because the domain had shut down. There was no further reaction. His total being, all three components, went into a void. There was no guidance or messaging coming from either the domain or the mind. He was clinically now catatonic.

The responsible ones who put him there, those who were truly guilty of committing this crime never came forth to Justin’s aid or defense. They assumed that their secrets, their accountability, and their acts of evil were safely concealed by his catatonic condition. They never made so much as even the smallest of attempts to come to Justin’s defense with the truth regarding what had happened. They felt some remorse and guilt for their actions. They hid their feelings of personal responsibility well. Their consciences were dulled, and even though there was at times an occasion and slight urging from inside to do what was right and decent, these feelings were effectively downplayed and contained. Their control over their evil shielded them from any strong thoughts of confessing to their crimes. They were, in fact, cowards. None of them ever admitted to what had really brought on Justin’s escapade this night at Becky Turner’s door.

The police finally arrived, and Justin was untied and taken away in a cruiser. He was, by then, clearly unstable and unable to acknowledge what was going on around him. He was taken to the nearest hospital for evaluation. There, the doctors found nothing physically wrong with him. Still, he remained in his removed and catatonic state. Because of his condition and her goodness, Becky chose not to file any legal charges against the boy. His parents were extremely grateful to her for this. They had so much to worry and think about without the legal issues adding to the myriad of items they were now forced to contend with. Primarily, they had the care and treatment of a sick son to deal with. The change in his behavior and actions and the ensuing condition had happened so quickly. There had been no warning or signs. This whole thing had taken them by complete surprise. It was just so much to deal with and all so sudden. They placed him under special care in one of the better clinics in a nearby town. It specialized in the care for the mentally ill. There, he stayed for weeks.

Shortly after the bizarre incident at her door, Becky realized how out of character this action was, and from one of the school’s better reputed students had been. She began to suspect that something wasn’t quite right with the facts as she knew them. She began to question if there might be more to the story than what she had originally presumed; perhaps even foul play may have been present. She discovered from transfers to the domains of several of the students whom she counseled that Justin might have been unknowingly and involuntarily drugged that night and then hung by others in front of her door. Most of those who knew parts or those who knew parts of the truth or had full knowledge of the happenings but failed to come forth as passive, noncontributing accomplices felt that a grave injustice had been done.

Becky was forming a much different and more accurate picture of what had happened that night. It was quite different from the one she had formed originally. She decided to get the story directly from the source. She asked Justin’s family for permission to visit with him at the clinic. At first, it seemed to them to be an odd request. After all, she was the victim and target of his misguided deeds. It seemed clear to them that she was at least partly the focus of his guilt and embarrassment for the actions that thrust him into his current retreat from the world of the sane. They questioned if her motive could possibly be revenge or retribution. Regardless of the motivations or reasons, it left them wondering what good or harm it could do, especially if he could not or would not react or respond. Becky assured them that she meant him no harm. She only wanted to assess his situation and give him release from his guilt. She wanted him to know that she forgave him and held no continuing ill will toward him.

The family saw no harm in her visit and forgiveness. His mother and father felt compelled to remind Becky of his condition, just to be sure that she understood the unlikelihood that she would have an attentive partner to dialogue with. They told her that up to that current point, Justin hadn’t acknowledged either of them or their presence in his room on any of the previous times that they’d visited. They told her that it would likely be a trip in vain. It brought tears to his mother’s eyes and drew several from Becky as well. She assured them that she would not do him any more harm but wanted to see if her visit and her offering of forgiveness might bring him back. It seemed, to her, worth a try.

The next Saturday, Becky drove to the private clinic to visit with Justin. His parents had called the clinic earlier in the day to give their consent to allow Becky to see their son. Becky was greeted as she arrived and escorted by several orderlies to Justin’s room. It was a very plain and white room. There was a large window that allowed plenty of light. The window was covered from the inside with white-painted mesh. It made the white room less inviting. The room had only two beds within it. One bed was unoccupied. In the other was Justin. He lay curled up, staring into open space. It was eerie. It was as if neither she nor the orderlies were present in his world. Justin was all alone in his own private and exclusively defined confines. It was a very depressing sight to see one of such young age robbed of all his capacities and awareness.

Becky knelt to the floor at the side of his bed to look more directly into his empty stare. One from her domain transferred to his domain. The domain was in a state of confusion and searching for the combination of influences or answers to reset itself and the being right again. Despite all the instability and confusion within it, Becky’s spirit was allowed, through the domain’s good-natured spirits, to probe and search for answers to help with his condition. The truths from that night were laid out clearly from the continuous and reappearing illusions cycling through the domain stores. Every new thought and instance of the domain’s existence was met by the replay of that fateful night. His domain was caught in a captive and all-consuming loop, constantly cycling through the one instance of its history. Now made clear to Becky’s transferred one, this spirit returned to its pure domain. It was not able to resolve the problem itself. It would require the help of one with a more long-term presence. The continual help that was needed would not be possible from her spirit and not from occasional transfers.

The information that she’d gathered earlier in the week from those she counseled was confirmed. Justin was innocent. He had been used and even abused by others eviler and more sinister. This was why he was reacting so severely. This was why he was having trouble sorting it all out and moving forward. What was from others and what was from him were intertwined and not discernable by his domain or mind components yet.

Becky’s domain wanted to help Justin. The one, while it was transferred, took the opportunity to comfort and console the like-natured spirits within his domain and to assure them that special help would likely be provided to aid in the restoration of the domain back to health. Her own spirits were not the source of his cure, but rather, one would be called that could be. Becky agonized with the question that even she might have been a contributor and factor in his torment.
