About this ebook
A crack, a void, or an iridescent light appears in the sky out of nowhere one day. Of course, everyone's interest is caught at first except for two people. Elena, a scientist, and James, whose really just a regular guy with a rough past.
They've become close in a matter of minutes and don't notice that the bar is empty until they run outside and see this crack in the sky, this opening, or slit – none can decide what exactly to call it, but most call it a crack.
But as Elena and James get their friends and start seeing what they can do, a ship comes through the opening, only carrying a passenger that for all means looks human.
As Elena and her team race through the desert to find him, they do, just as he comes out of his craft. However, the government comes down to grab Alan, and that's when they truly know what he is.

Destiny: Mysterious Open Skies

Prelude
It started without warning, no sounds or shaking of the ground as if an earthquake hit. Nothing but a massive power that could only be described as abnormal by everyone as a strange feeling shot across the earth and all of humanity, leaving them curious, wondering, afraid. Because it was not a natural event – whatever happened tore open the sky, literally - leaving a strange crack that was both a void and a small iridescent line at once.
James is a man that had his life torn from him, shattering him, and he built himself back up and tried to start again, but went back to the bars. Him and his friends - Trevor and Mike are sitting in a bar with those couple of lab coats who come in there every so often for a couple of hard drinks like that. And it just so happens that a beautiful woman named Elena is one of those lab coats. James rarely admits his feelings and Elena is the same, but they’ve been looking at each other since she and her colleagues started going to the bar. This crack in the sky draws them together in an unexpected but intense way.
Trevor and Mike start to see each other in a different way, a little more than friends, and Elena comes over to the bar and James pretty much makes it obvious that he has something for her – he can’t seem to hide it – and neither can she. But there are bigger things to deal with at the moment, because no one knows what could be on that other side. For all most people know, it’s nothing, just some strange anomaly that science will explain on the news soon, but Elena knows that it isn’t and James gets Trevor and Mike to come with him and help Elena and her team.
After they chat and get to know each other a bit, but enough, before Elena is notified by her team that there was something that came through from the other side – a ship that looks like something we might be making for the future – and seemed to be headed towards the California desert. It crash lands on the border of Nevada, still in California and when the being from that crashed ship comes out he is greeted only with the curious and apprehensive gaze of Elena, James, Trevor, and Mike while Elena’s team is rushing to the desert, all of them are
