About this ebook
Angela is left to grapple with the consequences of David leaving her in the middle of nowhere. She is distraught and unable to get back on her feet because she didn't expect this to happen.
Then, she finds the only way she could to meet up with David, and both are overcome with affection for each other and realize being separated from each other was doing more harm than good.
After Angela convinces him that what happened last time wouldn't happen again, David agrees to let Angela help with taking Alveris down. They both put their heads together to concoct a solid plan and set things in motion.
May and Toby agree to help them too! After Angela reignites an old case to sue David, it's now David's turn to get on Alveris' good side again. Because there's only one way to take him down, and that's from the inside!
Will they be successful in their mission to rid David of Ricardo forever, or will Alveris have the last laugh? As Alveris decides to abandon David's facility, can David get him to trust again while saving the lives of both Angela, Toby, and May?
Things have just taken a huge swerve, for better or for worse. Let's find out in Part Four of the series Tempted.

T
he weather was crisp. Spring has just started to settle in. Flowers were budding and blooming all over the place. You couldn't pass a single street without seeing all the nooks and crannies of New York City crawling with flowers, with butterflies and caterpillars hovering over and around them.
Ladybugs of all kinds and other insects made their way out of hibernation and settled into their spring reverie. Winter was over, along with other things. The heavy dread had lifted, and things felt as if they were going back to normal.
Or maybe shifting into a new normal, because one thing was for certain, Angela had not felt this way for a long time. Angela was stuck in her thoughts, looking outside the cab window on her way to the John F. Kennedy Airport. As usual.
The traffic was packed, and there was no way out of this enormous jam. But for once in a long time, Angela didn't seem to mind the long wait; she rolled down her window and felt the fresh breeze of spring air greet her; just the right amount of warm and cold. But she had to roll back her windows soon enough as the smell of piss and garbage replaced the scent of the wind. And per usual, there were slurs and taunts being thrown around by one driver to another as the traffic continued to be stagnant.
Angela checked her mobile phone to see the time. An hour till her flight to Los Angeles took off. She needed to hurry up before boarding started. And so, in typical Angela fashion, she slipped a bunch of cash to the cab driver without thinking for a split second the amount of lonely she was throwing away, got hold of her bags from the back seat, and got out of the car.
She was on foot on her way to the airport. And somehow, it got her there quicker. As she approached the airport, she saw a similar black SUV with black tinted windows parked outside the airport. A familiar face of a bald man appeared; it was Anthony.
My dear miss Angela, let me get a hold of those bags; he's waiting for you,
Anthony had said.
No, no, thank you, Anthony. I can carry it by myself.
It was true. She could carry it by herself now. Her abdominal pain had healed itself quite well.
I insist, Miss Angela. Please let me take the bags. They are only holding you back,
Anthony persisted. Angela knew that this man was not going to take no for an answer today. So, she let him carry her luggage into the airport.
Inside the airport, a swarm of busy passengers greeted Angela. Everyone living inside the bubble inside their own lives, grounded by their own worries and woes and having their own distinct destinations and journeys. She started to scan through the swarm of people to find the one person that she was eagerly waiting to meet.
Adidas jacket, Nike sneakers. Nope, that's not him.
North Face hoodie, Yeezy slides. That's not him either.
Hawaiian T-shirt and a hat? Definitely not him.
A perfectly tailored Gucci tuxedo with slicked-back hair and perfectly fitted loafers. Yep, that's it. That's her man.
Angela made her way to David, who was also browsing through the huge swarm of the crowd probably looking for her. She crept up from behind him and hugged him. David didn't need to turn around to see who it was. The warm embrace was enough to let him know that he didn't need to search any longer.
The person he was looking for was right there next to him. Angela slowly moved her way in front of David and gave him a peck on the cheek.
What took you so long?
David asked. I was getting worried.
I just wanted to take a long way here, you know, soak in all the spring goodness. After the year we've had, my therapist says, it’s best if I try to find peace and calm in the little things,
Angela replied.
Anthony could've picked you up, my love,
David replied.
No, no, I prefer the cab. Really gives you the whole New York experience,
Angela replied as they both chuckled at the slight sarcasm in her tone.
By the way, I'm really glad that therapy is working for you and you are getting over the PTSD from the shootout,
David exclaimed.
Yes, exactly. Which is why I need you to get into it, too. It has helped me grow leaps and bounds, and it could do the same for you,
Angela insisted.
Nah. I'm better off. There's too much unpack in my life, you know. Besides, I can diagnose myself; bad childhood. There you go. And who needs therapy when I've got you.
They both smiled at each other as David leaned in to give Angela a peck on her cheek.
Final boarding call for Flight 306. I repeat, final boarding call for Flight 306 flying from New York to sunny Los Angeles.
I guess that's us,
David said as he got hold of the bags from Anthony.
Give May my love,
David said as he made his way to security and then clearing. Angela and David were flying business class in no time.
Seven hours later, they
